I can't believe I'm hitting 30 weeks on Wednesday. There is still so much to do! We bought paint for the baby's room, had our yard sale so the room is mostly cleaned out, DH sold the last piece of furniture this morning, and we need to get the damn bed frame out! Once we paint I'll feel better.
My baby shower is on Saturday. We are combining it with the June birthdays so it's going to be a crayz day. Well not combining but the guys are going to go do something while we have my shower then everyone will come back to my moms for the June birthday parties. I hope it all goes ok.
Ok now some questions: What do I need to pack in my hospital bag? What do I need to pack in the baby's hospital bag? DO I need to bring my own pads for myself? If so what type? I'm clueless here! I might as well ask what DH needs in his hospital bag too.

-nursing nightgown, nursing tank top (I stayed in hospital gown the entire time), toiletries (I did shower at hospital), glasses/contact solution, socks
Baby bag-diapers, going home outfit, a few sleepers, hat/bow for pics if you want
*my hospital provided almost everything I needed except toiletries and phone chargers. They gave me anti-slip socks, gowns, nipple cream, pump supplies, stuff for baby to wear, etc. They sent us home with a bunch of diapers, blankets, hat, etc. I really didn't need much

S turned 6 months old yesterday!!!!!!! OMG where has the time gone! She has been rolling to her belly for 2 months now, but can now roll tummy to back. She is still not a huge fan of being on her tummy, but she kicks her legs and tries to move herself. Still no teeth, but we have started baby food and she likes it! We are going on our FIRST real family vacation as a family of 3 in 1.5 weeks and I am SOOOO ready!!!!!!! Plus we will be with my extended family, so free babysitters :-)
A is now walking! This after weeks of refusing to even let go of one surface to another as she cruised. 2 days ago she randomly stood up and walked from one room into another (about 20 steps). Has she been practicing at night? Is she secretly a ninja?
loira my brother was like that. My mom took him to the zoo and he just got up while they were resting to go look at the ducks. Never walked before lol.
That's exciting about your vacation starryfish, I'm sure it's going to be so much fun.
That's great that the sleep stuff is going well awick14. I hope the naps follow suit.
I'm almost 23 weeks and as I get closer to the viability stage and keep going I hope my anxiety calms down. I have a lot of stuff for the nursery but haven't put any of it together yet, I'm right there with you King26. I need to get going but I'm sure i'll wait until last minute.
I've been having some bad heartburn. I am hoping this means my baby comes out with a head full of Elvis hair.
King26, Besides what starry mentioned, I'd suggest slippers. I did a lot of hall walking with C, granted we were in the hospital for a week. I wish I'd brought more sleepers for him, I don't think he wore clothes until he was discharged! Also, I didn't realize how little newborns are, he really needed NB size clothes and most of what I had at home was 0-3 mos. Otherwise, the hospital provided everything. Is yours a "baby friendly" hospital?
All 3 of us are home sick today. H and I have the flu and C has a cold. I'm mostly better now, but yesterday was not pretty at our house. His tubes seem to be working though cuz this boy as a TON of ear drainage.
Hi, guys. I know I haven't been around much. Sorry. Things got so crazy with the move. Packing with a 13 month old was not fun. Our cross country road trip was cut short in Denver when we got the call that my dad's heart stopped just hours after coming home from the hospital. He coded six times. I hopped on a plane with the baby and H did the last 12 hours of driving solo. We stopped life support early the next morning. He was one of the main reasons we were moving back and he died only a couple days before we were due back. After us being away for 6 six years. It's hard to believe.
Not much new with the baby. He did decide to just start walking up the entire flight of stairs while we were packing one day. I'm so glad we're back in a one story.

Hello!
I'm just wrapping up the school year and trying to finish the nursery. I had a work shower and my second family/friends shower last week, which was fun. Then we did a maternity shoot on Sunday and I'm dying to see the pictures! So all in all, a pretty good week.
I guess I have to start getting my hospital bag/supplies together, huh?
starryfish, we're going on vacation weekend after next too! ours is just a long weekend, at a beach about 4 hours from us. We're renting a condo. My 4 year old just discovered bowling and that's what he's asking to do, lol.
Re: hospital bags ( King26, cherryvalance) I really liked being about to wear my own clothes (nursing tank top, leggings) and get out of the hospital gown as soon as possible. It made me feel more like myself again. Also, I took an extension cord so my cell phone charger could reach me in the bed and that was genius.
King26, I'd suggest shoes you can get on if your feet get swollen. My feet were huge and I had nothing to wear home; we had to stop at Target for slides. Also, I preferred wearing my own clothes rather than the gown, because I was swimming in the gown it was so huge. It was also nice to have my computer for entertainment because the TV was a pain to operate. The hospital supplied pads; they weren't the greatest (no wings!) but they got the job done. Luckily we live close to the hospital because I had no bag packed, so H brought me things every morning; honestly you don't need much besides some comfort items (clothes, toiletries, phone charger) because the hospital usually hooks you up.

E is off oxygen! It's so nice to see her pretty little face with no cannula. She still has a feeding tube, but nothing else on her face! Nursing isn't going that well since I had to miss several days last week because I was worried about being sick. She's starting to remember what to do, but she isn't able to transfer anything yet. It's also a pain to try to time my pump sessions to her care times, especially when H isn't there to help. I'm pretty bummed about it.
trace, there are no words. I am SO sorry for your loss. Huge hugs being sent your way. King26 and cherryvalance, I felt mostly good about our nursery but then we had our baby bbq this weekend and now it is in disarray again, lol. I plan to organize everything and get it finished over the next two weekends. thoseareradishes, that is an amazing milestone! Sorry there are still so many hurdles you have to deal with :/
We had our baby bbq this weekend and it was 100 degrees. It was so nice of everyone to come out and shower us with so much love and so many gifts, but man it was miserably hot. And our friend who was going to gift us some free maternity photos had an emergency and was unable to come, so we literally didn't get any photos from the shower, haha. Oh well. We are now in the process of putting everything away which will take weeks I think.
34 weeks and feeling so pregnant and uncomfortable. And man alive my back is awful.
We moved DS to his own room last week and he's sleeping SO much better!! He actually DID THE THING two nights ago, and only woke up once last night (this is down from 4+ times a night). HALLELUJAH! I miss having him right next to me, and I stare at the monitor intently several times a night to make sure I can see him breathing, but its nice to finally get more than a couple hours of sleep in a row. Here's hoping it continues!
We're heading to Ireland at the end of next week for 6 days. So excited for a vacation, but super nervous about taking a redeye with a lap baby. Eeek.

Yea!!!!!!! So glad he is sleeping better! We are moving S to her room after our vacation.
Fun! H's family is from Michigan and it's so nice in the summer there.
I'm originally from outside of Detroit. All my family is from there. We are going to northern Michigan
Lol, it seems everyone I know from Michigan (including my H) is from "outside of Detroit".
We've never been up to northern Michigan - we've really only been to see his folks, but they smoke and their house smells SO bad that next time we visit I think we'll try to work in a separate trip somewhere nearby so we don't have to stay too long (and hurt their feelings).
I'm headed to the RE tomorrow and I'm starting to get nervous, second guessing myself. I've just been feeling awful lately, I suppose bleeding for 2 weeks each month can do that to ya?
So I didn't want to make a new thread for this but I got a BFP this morning <) . This was our last month before doing a FET. I'm in complete shock as I never thought it would happen. I had a beta this morning and it was 165. She said progesterone was low so have an RX for vaginal pills. I go back thursday for another beta.
My due date would be Feb 17 according to my records - which is H's bday. He works out of town so will tell him tonight on the phone. Stinks he couldn't have been here this morning.
Also, I am switching careers and going back to school this fall for a graduate program that's mainly online. I had told them when I signed up that we were trying and they said I could take 1 semester off (it's a 2 year program). So I'll probably take spring off and just take classes over summer. Not the best timing but for now I'm just going to keep on with what is planned.
