Damn, who does that shit? I'm glad the bus driver pulled out his cell phone to capture it on video. My second thought is that I'm surprised they didn't fire the driver for using a cell phone while behind the wheel of the bus.

I will admit I have little patience for stupid slow zones. Like the high school I passed on my way to school, where no one walked (private), and drop offs were all on a different street. So, tell me why I slow down when I've literally never seen a student around? But we all slowed. Maybe not all the way to 20, but close-ish, which is about as good as you'll see in Florida. And if we assholes in Florida didn't think to go on a sidewalk, then you know it's egregious.
It occurred to me last week that I don't remember seeing school buses since moving to Hawaii. I regularly pass a few elementary schools, which don't have slow zones, and the most I've seen is some middle school kids waiting at a bus stop. It was weird, and I haven't yet figured out what these kids do! Maybe that explains our 230p rush hour.
