It has changed over the years but the current is a marine biologist who specializes in sharks
Other career choices are -zoologist - elephants or polar bear as a specialty -accountant - she actually asks to go to work with me more often than not and doesn't mind me putting her to work sorting or some other easy task plus she loves math -gymnastic coach -rodeo queen or barrel racer -she has also tossed around being a vet and loves taking the dog to the vet so she can ask very weird animal questions. Thank goodness I have a great vet who has kids the same age as DD.
DD wants to open an ice cream shop serving dairy free ice cream for people like her with allergies. Heart be still. She also can't wait to be a Mommy and make all the rules.
Ds has always had a fascination with the military due to two career military uncles. I highly discourage it. It's bad enough all of the anuts uncles and cousins live out of state. I would soon have both kids live next door.
Singer and scientist (no specialty). Right now it's a country singer because someone told her she has a good voice for country. Honestly she just has a good voice for anything, but she can do the voice stuff they do in pop music better than country. Sometimes she sounds like an auto tune.
DD says she wants to be an artist. Then she changes her mind to test engineer since she found out that is what I do and I get to test software all day. But she wants to test video games since my DH has been programming a game for her and lets her test it. She is definitely my little science nerd - she likes to look at the stars and watch for the International Space Station, explore outdoors, do science experiments...
I have no idea what DS1 would do. Maybe fire fighter? He definitely likes the trucks.

Anything construction related. Or a garbage truck driver. DS1 will assign the different trucks to each of us - he will drive the excavator, DS2 will drive the dump truck, I will drive the cement mixer, etc. Apparently we are going to have a family construction business.
DS - for years he's wanted to be an astronaut. It kind of makes me sad because I'm not sure that will be a viable profession when he's older. = (
DD - she says that she wants an office, a 'puter, and an "exerciser" like mommy. I WFH and my office has my treadmill in it. I assume she thinks that the treadmill, like the computer, is part of my work.
DS is 7. He goes between firefighter, police officer, farmer, pastor, "army man," and astronaut. Oh, and sometimes garbage man because seeing the garbage truck pick up the can and dump it is the highlight of any week.
DD is 5. She's moved from mermaid to Supergirl.
I haven't tried to persuade them to pursue anything. At this age, they really can be whatever they want. DS really likes science, so I could see him being an engineer like his parents. But he is also very caring and empathetic, so maybe doctor or nurse or social worker? DD is into artsy stuff. I plan to be like my parents in regard to this. They always said, "As long as it's honest work, we'll be proud of you."
Oldest - pediatric or criminal psychologist. She loves the underdog.
Middle - totally undecided. Doesn't care for work. Wants to know what you call it if you do service projects all over the world. So maybe Peace Corps?
DS: he wants to live in the woods with his brothers (buddies, this used to be husband) have a house with a wife and seven kids and he wants to fish for food and hunt and build what he needs. We don't hunt. We aren't survivalists. So strange.
