First weekend since early April with no baseball of any kind in the plans. I'm super excited about that. DS1 is having a friend sleepover tonight, but other than that we have nothing on the agenda. 😀

Do you guys write thank you notes for your kids' birthday parties? I just got one in the mail from a friend that she wrote as her 2 year old. If you do, My fffc is that I don't and I don't plan too. I feel like a good old fashioned thank you at the party is sufficient.

erinshelley21 I write thank you cards, especially since we don't open gifts at the party. Probably another confession is that the few DD1 have received from other kids are her prized possessions. She keeps them on her nightstand & will pull them out sometimes to have us read them to her at bedtime. Except now she has them memorized so she mostly recites them to us.
erinshelley21 my kid colors a thank you coloring sheet (I just Google and print one at random) and I mail those off. My family is old school and want the thank you. This way I don't have to write everything (she's 2.5 so it's just scribbles but I count it.
FFC I'm trying to figure out how to push a co-worker into quitting. She's aweful at her job and causes everyone else more work. She hasn't been fired because her husband is really important to one of the company's large projects.
@erinshelley- we have sent them for big parties at home. Mainly because they came with the invites. I didn't send them for small parties where we opened gifts.
We do get them for class parties where they don't open gifts.

Hello all! Long time no see. I am sitting in the dark in my kid's bed because the dog won't leave her. Dog had surgery yesterday and needs to go out but when I tried to rush her last night (because she was under my bed and needed to have her cone on before I fell asleep) she bit me. She's been acting normal and friendly since the last of the drugs wore off but it isn't worth a fight. So we will all just sit here until H comes home from his friend's (any minute now). I think that will excite her enough to go. Kid is snoring.
My weekend plans involve a lot of cleaning and staring at my dog whenever she gets a break from her cone. During her drugged state last night she peed under my bed so tonight I gave that room the cleaning it never gets. Pulled the misc crap that gets shoved in there out, swept and mopped every corner, dusted the bed frame and fan blades, etc. tomorrow I plan to get rid of most of what I pulled out before returning what's left to the room.
I was out of town sans family last weekend. I haven't done that for non-work reasons since I finished grad school 8 years ago. It was delightful. Once I'm done scrubbing the room I think I'll decorate it with the pictures I took hiking through Northern California.

I'm concentrating my efforts in the garden this weekend, on a bed where there used to be roses but ivy has taken over. My goodness this stuff is stubborn!
librarychica, one time my older Great Dane Jessie had her cone on in a kennel after surgery on her flank and managed to escape the kennel with the cone still attached! Talk about Houdini!
Omg shakinros, how embarrassing! Was your daughter mortified?
Ehhh hard to say. It was not my best parenting response and assessing her feelings did not come in to play while I was yanking her out of the pool, cleaning wet poop off her, and trying not to scream my face off.
At least it's a really huge gym. We don't know anyone there besides our neighbors who were not there, thankfully.
If it makes you feel better shakinros, DS peed on the floor at the gym, and I got to tell the front desk since I had nothing to clean it up with. Not as bad as poop, but it definitely happens.
Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone! For some reason I haven't been getting notifications of tags since tapatalk updated. I had a good night's sleep and a great day!
