+1 saraml13 . Collins and Murkowski should be getting more credit
And every single Dem in the Senate. But think about that. 51 people just saved 32 million people from losing their health insurance over the next 2 years. And 49 people were all for it.

That is the scariest thing. Sometimes I wonder if maybe I'm the crazy one because doing these evil things seem to make perfect sense to so many people.

I have NO plans for the weekend possibly hanging out with our friends that have a baby too. Unless H doesn't want to do anything because of the info below.
Sadly H's really good friend who has been fighting cancer for the past few years just elected to go into hospice care today. I'm sad for him bc he's a sweet person and I'm so so sad for H. H isn't someone with a ton of friends. He has a lot of trouble opening up to people and this guy is someone who really gets him. I wish I could do something for H but other than being here for him there isn't much else I can do

sandandsea, sorry about the return of your dad's cancer. I can relate - my dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer while I was living in Europe. The guilt I felt about not being there was awful. But, like a PP said, had I gone home, there wouldn't have been anything for me to "do."
My dad had surgery, cancer is gone, and he doesn't care that I didn't go home.
I paid the play date niece this morning and she was so confused on why I was giving her money. I just said thanks and rushed out as I had to run into work to meet a new client.
Weekend is birthday party on Saturday and DD is going to the baseball game Saturday with my dad and brother so I can get some me time.
DH is playing golf on Saturday while his truck is at the dealership and Sunday he is randomly driving around the mountains for a "walkabout". In other words he gets a bachelor weekend.
186momx, I am confused why you paid her as well. If your friend was already paying niece for babysitting her child, then just because the child had a friend over doesn't mean the friend's mom pays (unless that was agreed upon beforehand which it didn't sound like it was). Did your friend tell you that you had to pay the babysitter for your portion? I didn't seem like the niece asked for payment.
Tonight, I am taking all 5 kids to my cousin's pool for a party. I made these plans with the kids, then was invited on a bus to our downtown concert. Nice
Tomorrow our family plus the visiting niece and nephews and mom are going boating. Mom is insisting on frying chicken before we leave in the morning. I told her there is no circumstance that will get me out of bed to fry chicken on a Saturday morning, but let me know and I can swing by KFC on the way home. One of us may not make it back.
Saturday night , I am supposed to go to my class reunion planning party, with DH driving, weird I know. The boat trip may do me in though.
Sunday is somebodies birthday party, but I have lost track of which one.
Fffc, I am not really doing much for these birthday parties. It is not their birthday, and since my brother and his family lives 1000 miles away, they don't actually acknowledge my kids birthday either, which is fine.
waverly I'm pretty sure my friend wanted to get out of having to pay niece for the day and used me having DD over as a way to get free babysitting. Learned my lesson and yeah awkward.
I need help figuring out activities for DD to do next week with her teen sitters. It's supposed to be in the 100s and none of them drive yet so they are stuck at the house. This week my activity was rock painting and it didn't go over well. Truthfully DD would be happy doing gymnastics and playing horses all day which is what she does on the weekends so I think it is the sitter getting bored. I'm let them to walk to the park but I got the it's too hot. LOL

We're heading back to reality today. DH and the girls are done with camp so we're all heading home from my parents' house today. I'm looking forward to having a normal routine at home again. And tomorrow we have my company picnic, so that will be fun!
-Those foam sticker projects from Joann's -Legos -Make cookies or cupcakes or muffins from a mix -Any sort of painting -Dress up
Beyond that, I would just tell the sitter to let her play. They don't really have to DO anything. I remember as a sitter I was always worried that I was supposed to be doing more. It wasn't that I was bored. It was that I was afraid I wasn't meeting expectations.
We had swim lessons this morning and hung out with my parents. Other than that it's just working on projects around the house and for DS's birthday party.
No, no headache in this case. But it is trippy to just have one eye dilated.
I am extremely nearsighted so I have a risk of retinal tears and detachment. Can happen as a result of an injury or just completely random.
Sometimes there are just visual migraines.
Interesting. Well, he did see the same floaters that I was seeing ... and this does make sense with my history. But it probably wouldn't hurt to read up on visual migraines. It's an unfamiliar concept to me. I thought I was imagining it at first.
We drove down to see our boarded horse. He looks BAD. He is very very old and has lost a lot of weight lately despite it being summer. I don't know if he'll make it through the winter . (He is over 30 years old, so no spring chicken.) But for now he is living the life and it was so nice to get to hug and smell him again. With trying to get the house ready to sell and moving, we haven't been down in months.

We also have teen sitters for the next two weeks, 186momx, and it's nearly 100 every day. I'm leaving some simple art kits, fresh playdoh and some fun snacks to make. Also my kids like to do Cosmic Kids yoga on Youtube.

My Friday and Saturday were insanely busy. Like insane. Last night was so busy that the toddler slept until 10, skipped nap and then passed out in the car on the way home from a birthday party at 7. I am about to hustle the big to bed and eat some pie.
Tomorrow we are doing nothing. Nada. Zilch. Thank god.
Random: I have discovered shakshuka and am dedicating myself to trying every variation of eggs poached in a tomato pepper sauce.

freezorburn, did he suggest a specialist? Or do any tests? When I was 22 I had a random hemorrhage in my eye, and now have a blind spot permanently. It's super rare though, but typically for crazy stuff they will send you somewhere else. Like I go to a retinal specialist twice a year to check to make sure that my spot hasn't grown, and then see a regular eye doctor for my contacts.

He did some additional tests that he doesn't normally do during a routine dilation -- he put pressure on my eye while asking me to change the direction that I was looking. I'm not sure what that tells him or what he can see from that ... but he mentioned that there was still traction in there, I guess that's something he looks for with potential detachment. We're monitoring through the weekend, and he gave me both his home and cell numbers to call in case things change, since their weekend is Sun - Mon. This is my eye doctor for the last 10 years and I feel pretty comfortable that they will help me get the care I need if it comes to that.
My son actually kicked me in the eye last summer which led to some floaters, and the eye doctor is aware of this and said that more floaters can gradually occur up to a year following something like that. So this could be related. Or not. SaveSave
2chatter, I relate to sometimes feeling like a snob. (Shocking given my user name right?!) Recent example...at my husband's grandfather's funeral, my kids were dressed more appropriately than FIL, BIL, and ummm most of the adult that attended tbh.
campermom I live in the Hampton Roads area! The traffic on the main road can be so crazy as large swathes are under construction and don't get me started on the tunnels. There are beaches off the Colonial Parkway in Yorktown and Jamestown that require little effort to get to. Not the ocean, but no traffic Trump's that for me every time. Enjoy your trip and good luck at the warrior dash!
We were on vacation last week. Today we have a birthday party that thankfully both kids can attend. Then I will run around like a crazy person to get ready for next week. DH is going on more travel for work and I have a busy week at work. Thankfully laundry is mostly done!
