Vents - My website is still broken. And my IT team has ZERO sense of urgency. I'm ready to scream. Also, my ankles are feeling weirdly sore. I did 7 miles yesterday, and the only part of me that's feeling it today is the front of my ankle. I need to figure out what's causing that so I can fix it before my walks ramp up even more.
Celebrations: Had a really great, relaxing weekend. Lots of time to just chill around the house, which we all desperately needed.

We had a really good, but busy weekend. I took Friday off and took DS, DD and her two friends to the mall. It was fun but so exhausting. DS talks a lot! That night we had our town's summer festival which we also took DD's friends to. A local band was playing but didn't start until 9 (which is late for this old lady) but I hung in there and had a lot of fun.
Saturday I did some grocery shopping, DH went to a local brew fest, DD was with friends so DS and I went to buy a new microwave. I ended up not liking it so we went back later with DH and finally found one in stock that I liked.
Sunday DH put in the new microwave and then we had our old neighbors open house/birthday party for their girls. We didn't really want to go after such a busy weekend but these were DS' bestest girlfriends. He had a great time so I'm glad we went.
My vent is DH's schedule this week. Tonight and Wed he has golf outings which go through dinner and sometimes past that and tomorrow he has another evening event for work. Since I have the kids with me during the day, it's tough to get a break. But, next week we get DD's schedule and the 23rd they go back to school.
Vents - I am AWFUL at working out at home. I couldn't get to the gym this weekend. So twice, I turned on my Shred DVD. And both times, I only did a few minutes before giving up. Not because it was too hard or anything. I just, meh, wasn't feeling it.
Another vent - turns out, the vacuum cleaner can't climb steps on it's own to do the upstairs floors. Because of this, apparently I'm supposed to do that?
Celebration - the non-dinner sailing trip I bitched about last week? Turned out to be a lot of fun. I went into it with a sour puss attitude, but tried to paint a smile on my face. It was my first time on a sail boat and it was seriously a ton of fun. It was actually the boat from Wedding Crashers!
Random - I think today is the day my boss will tell me about switching teams/departments. I don't know how I feel.
Started the weekend great with an at home date with DH that included lawn chairs, wine, steak, no kids and asleep by nine.
Vent: Now I want to kill him and his constant opinions which included the fact that he doesn't like the new place I put the aluminum foil and wants it back I'm the old place. I have concluded I'm married to Bea Arthur.
Also, my ankles are feeling weirdly sore. I did 7 miles yesterday, and the only part of me that's feeling it today is the front of my ankle. I need to figure out what's causing that so I can fix it before my walks ramp up even more.
Could it be your shoes? The two times I've had leg issues when running were after getting new shoes. One pair had a different toe to heel drop that caused me issues with my Achilles. Another pair was too heavy and caused knee issues.

Either way, hope it gets better!
Thanks! I did get new shoes, so I'm worried that is the problem. They don't make my feet hurt, and are super comfortable, but I think they must be making me walk a little differently and it's affecting my ankles/shins. I was also walking really fast, trying to hit the challenge pace that the training program had, so I wonder if I was hitting the pavement too hard or something.
Celebration: Great weekend with the kids and DH, visiting some friends at their camper with their 1 year old. Super fun and the kids were great.
Vent: Nothing really, school starts soon for da and we are switching day cares for dd, and I'm just not ready. Our old daycare was excellent, just far from both home and work. The new one is three blocks from my office.
Celebration: Great long weekend. DH and I took Friday off and took the kids out of town to a Children's Museum, lunch, walked the city, candy store. It was really nice to do something different as a family. We got home that night and DD1 decided she was ready to take the training wheels off by riding the neighbor boys two wheeler. She did amazing! I still can't believe she just took off and didn't even fall. This is the girl that doesn't even like riding her bike. DH had a golf outing Saturday all day/night (not sure how you golf in the dark...) so I took the girls school shopping. DD1 starts K and she had so much fun picking our her school supplies and I got her a new bike helmet to celebrate. All she wants to do is ride her bike now. Sunday we did a local parade and picnic.
Vent: DH is in a golf league one night a week. I normally don't care but this summer said golf league turns into dinner and drinks afterwards so he gets home late and keeps me up. He is also busier with work events on week nights and has done a guys weekend trip, and golf outings on weekends. I guess I'm wondering when I get "me" time. He just told me that his fantasy football league draft is on our anniversary. It actually lands on a Saturday this year so we were going to do something together. I'm waiting to see what he ends up doing about the conflict.

Celebration: did my first 5k on Saturday sans any training whatsoever after I hurt myself about a month ago. We managed to run the whole thing anyways. Boom.
Vent: Tried to replace my light fixture with a ceiling fan, but lost my confidence to replace the box buried in my plaster ceiling. Exchanged the ceiling fan for a brighter, fancier light fixture and lost the LAST PIECE that I had to screw in to hold the dome in place. I'm convinced my children took it. I'm giving it a few days and then I'm going to call the manufacturer for a replacement piece.
Celebration: We had a great weekend. Even though we went on a semi-short-notice camping trip (so my vent would be spending hours on Thursday night and Friday to get groceries and everything packed), it was a lot of fun because we camped at the same campground as some good friends. Friday night was cold and rainy, so we took the kids to see a movie. Saturday was sunny and low 70s, so we went with our friends to a place that had mini golf and go karts. Then we had dinner together at the campground. Sunday after we got home DH and I washed our vehicles and I did laundry.
Work celebration: I was designated as the point person for drafting communications related to merit increases. My director reviewed them and left his edits for me, and they were very minimal. So that made me pretty happy.
This week is going to be busy - DS has a basketball camp M-Th from 4-8 pm, DD has gymnastics tonight and swim class T/Th, both have a Ninja Warrior camp Wednesday morning, and then we leave first thing on Friday for a long weekend camping trip. I took Wednesday and Thursday off to take them to the Ninja Warrior camp (and so I could hang out and watch) and then I work on projects around the house on Wednesday afternoon and Thursday.

Both of the shoes that caused me problems were really comfortable too. But it could be walking fast. I usually get shin splints from walking too fast.

mellym, sounds like my life! My DH is an accountant so during tax season, he's working and during off season it's a lot of schmoozing. I often wonder where this me time is as well!

I survived taking the kids camping by myself! We actually had a fantastic time. There were 4 other families and even though we only knew one of them, DS played really well with all the other kids he hasn't met before. Actually, DS behaved like the model child - polite, considerate, engaging, helped out with his sister. That lasted until we got into the car to drive home - as soon as we got in the car, he started taunting DD and a screaming match ensued. Oh well, I'll take what I can get.
Celebration: DD2's room is the tiniest in the house. It's not really even a bedroom--it used to be my office until she was born & evicted me. Now I share my office with a treadmill & a futon.
She has a toddler bed but I've been looking ahead to when she needs to move out of it. I break into sweats over visions of knocking down walls, bunking my uncoordinated children, or even sacrificing my treadmill or guest room so she can relocate (horrors!).
This morning, when nobody was looking, I inflated a twin air mattress in her room. And it fits! Cue the celebration over not having to move after all!
Vent: My clients & colleagues seem to expect me to smother my enthusiasm & buckle down to work anyway. Spoilsports.
Our weekend was awesome. Vacation part two starts today and we head down to the coastal town we went to college and met in. I have strict instructions to spend up to $400 on dinner and expense it in.
Vent: the babysitting service hasn't been very responsive. Trying to coordinate long distance is difficult.
Celebration: DD's school finally put up the calendar for when registration and meet the teacher night! The other schools in the district has had this up since June.
Sunday was a ton of fun but I hurt like crazy now.
Celebrations: The 8 day/2 destination camping trip was a success. We had a blast in williamsburg, everyone was a trooper even though we crammed a ton of stuff in everyday. The Warrior Dash with friends was awesome, we were covered head to toe in mud. The kids were really good for my friend who watched them. We had beautiful weather every single day.
Still working on making unrealistic goals realistic-my theme for Summer Break 2017 and finished the baby book. Onto making a Disney book.
Vents: It's raining and I still need to unpack a LOT of stuff from the camper. My shins hurt and I'm up 5 lbs.
I logged in at 7 AM. My computer is offline and the help desk has yet to fix it. So...I am getting a pedicure as I type this. I spilled a gallon of maroon concrete paint on my foot a week and a half ago so my cuticles have been maroon since then. She scrubbed it off and I am soooo happy. I was super frustrated earlier but am trying to view this as a gift.
My exh didn't pick up the girls this morning to go to Vegas. As he's been unreachable the last few days I saw this coming. The new plan is he is buying plane tickets and they will fly. He picked them up a little bit ago. It's going to suck if they don't go. He's never managed to take them on a trip, so I am not surprised after 9 years, but I know it always disappoints them even if they expect it.

More celebration: the potential buyer of our agency already called my brother to set up a meeting for next week. He originally said he would call Tuesday. I'm hoping since he is calling a day early that it's a good sign.

Celebration: I got a new phone! This may not sound like a big deal, but the touch screen was broken on my old phone for over a month so it was near impossible to do anything and I was accidently calling or Facetiming the wrong people, including coworkers, all the time.
Vent: DD's lead daycare teacher has a brilliant idea to have a camping day in the pre-school playground later this month. She wants the kids to bring in tents, backpacks, fishing poles (without hooks), canteens, etc. This would be a much cuter idea if we were not suggested to bring in all of that kind of crap.
Celebration: The kids got along really well this weekend and played well together (most of the time)
Vent: Last Tues I got what I thought was food poisoning. Thurs I still wasn't feeling great, so assumed it was a bug. Ate ok Fri, Sat. Went out to dinner Sat night and ordered a green salad with grilled chicken, and was sick before I even finished the meal. Horrible pain. Lasted until about 2am. Went to urgent care Sun and they think it's diverticulitis. Had a CT scan earlier today, waiting for results. Just ate lunch - first thing since Sat evening - so we will see how that sits. DD2 and I had big plans this week, and I'm afraid to leave the house.
mae0111, that is horrible. Glad the kids are playing well together.
erinshelley21, fingers cross your meeting goes well next week.
I wish I was a fly on my wall at home. My mom made cut out sugar cookies for DD and her sitter to frost and decorate today. I'm hoping they are having fun and it will be a smaller mess than if they tried to bake cookies. I wish I was home...

In random news: I have an intern now. She's actually a client's daughter. I told she could do the internship for her senior year before we found out someone might buy our business. So, now I have to try to navigate this without her finding out before I'm ready for her dad to know and also try to hide it from the asshole because we may not tell him at all since the sale won't go through until after he retires.
Also, I have NOTHING for her to do after she files the stack of papers. Hopefully she enjoys getting all of her homework done before she goes home every day for the entire year.
