I cannot get it up to run this week. I started off string but since wed I want to run but I don't know. I can't get out there. I took a week off 2 weeks ago to reset, cane back strong but wed/thurs/today I just cannot do it. I'm sleeping like crap. Like seriously I cannot take sleeping like crap anymore. I don't know why I sleep so badly lately. Im over studying for this test. I swear to god if I fail and have to retake I may not do it. I hate multiple choice tests. Ugh I'm over everything today day. Even some of my clients are getting on my nerves which NEVER happens. It's like I need to not teach for a day. I'm so burned out teaching. Ugh Sorry for this word vomit
We bought tickets to a Nationals game in a few weeks. It was on a Sunday afternoon and we were hoping the kids would get to run the bases. Well the Nationals changed the game time so that not only is kids run the bases cancelled, but it's at 8:05PM on a Sunday. It's really too late for kids. We can swing a 7PM game with DS, but 8:05.
I got 6 tickets since some friends were going to come with us and I made sure to get them high up since I wanted to be in the shade. LOL. So now I'm stuck with these tickets and I'm not sure what to do with them. We could try to sell them, but they're physical tickets so it will be harder to transfer them. I'm annoyed.
I dont feel like grumbling about not being able to run. So instead ill grumble about how my calf cramped in the middle of the night and hurt so badly i woke up and screamed. It was one of those cramps you could see. Then it just up and went away.
The tri at my pool is tomorrow. When i got a text about volunteering earlier in the week i responded i would. I have since been bombarded with communications about volunteering. Its really fucking annoying and now i dont want to. Maybe dont wait till the week of to ask and you wont have to beg everyday.
NH&FR: I have a customer that always finds something he doesn't like about paperwork. I can write a packing list EXACTLY THE SAME as he requested last time and he will find something he wants me to revise. I think he just gets off on being condescending.
H&FR: I had the runger so bad on a work errand yesterday that I bought a Costco-sized bag of Skinny Pop and was just shoveling handfuls into my mouth as quickly as possible in my car LOL.

This weekend is the first time in six years I won't be swimming a certain race and I am half tempted to register for the half mile on a whim. But I have an open house tomorrow at noon and I don't think that will work out, timing wise, when you include showering and getting ready. It's kind of a bummer.

H&F - I am working on lodging for a race in late October and have now tried to book 3 VRBO's with no response from the owner's in 24 hours so the booking get canceled. One of my only options left is an expensive house with hardly any photos and by the time I call back later today to book I bet it will be taken. Ugh.
Not H&F - H and I started talking about moving back to a city we've lived in before and I am super anxious about it, change is hard. This is a 3-5 year plan but that's not stopping me from freaking out. LOL.

I'm way stressing/anxious about my century ride in 29 days. 2 weeks ago I/we rode 74 miles. I felt great, the only issue is the crazy heat which won't be a factor for the race. Last weekend we weren't able to ride because we had my step kids and we had to be in multiple places at once all weekend. This weekend, we planned for 80 miles - even meal planned properly around it - but, there's a hurricane hitting the coast. We're expected to get 10+ inches of rain this weekend. No riding yet again. We still plan to do a long ride, probably 80ish next weekend, but that will be the last long ride. We won't be able to ride 2 weeks out from the century due to kid stuff and then we're a week out which we'll ride, but not super long since it'll be a week before the race. We're riding a couple times during the week, but usually 17 miles, but can push that to about 25-30, maybe. I guess I'm looking for some reassurance that I'll still be able to do this, but I had such a good training plan, but it's totally falling apart here at the end oh and, the race has a cat 4, 5.5 mile climb at mile 60 that's also stressing me out since while we're a little bit hilly, we're essentially flat around here in comparison.
I also realize that I should just be thankful we're only going to be dealing with heavy rain and not the storm surge the coast is going to deal with, which I am, but it's totally screwing with my head!

You'll be ok. I've had a training plan derail in the last month or so and it turned out fine. It happens.
A colleague of mine is absolutely driving me insane. This person has been in her role for roughly a year now, so some growing pains and learning curve was to be expected. The problem is, she's not learning and keeps making the same mistakes. Most of the people she works with are all holding her hand, patting her on the back, fixing her mistakes or letting them slide etc and two of my coworkers and I are sitting over here like "huh? How is this okay?" One of them has sat down with our higher ups to express her concerns but nothing has changed, and it just boggles our minds. Eventually, this person is going to either put her foot in her mouth in a massive way that would require disciplinary action or she's going to make a mistake that could cause a kid serious harm.
Last night, I moderated a panel for a student media conference that streamed live on FB and was broadcasted on a couple other of our media outlets, which meant I was on camera.
I was just at lunch with some colleagues, including one I don't particularly like. Said colleague basically sat there and stared at me as I inhaled my lunch (which was big). He finally said "Good thing you didn't eat like that before the broadcast last night, you wouldn't have fit on the camera. Ha ha ha!"
It was like a record screech at the table. Everyone just stopped, and stared. I calmly picked up another forkful of food, looked at him and said "What the actual fuck is wrong with you that you think that is in any way appropriate to say to me?"

You're more trained for yours than I am for mine, which is one week closer. so...YES YOU CAN DO IT.
We're riding 60-70 this weekend, 70-80 next weekend and then maybe like 20-30 the weekend after that and then 100. Two weekdays of trainer rides each of those weeks - maxing out around 30 because there's only so much time in the evening after we put the kids to bed. As it is we're getting of the trainers, eating 2nd dinner and gong straight to bed on those nights. Ours is flat at least. Fingers crossed for no headwinds.
I am sad Mr. GT is back at work this week. It made my life so much easier having him at home during marathon training. Not having to deal with morning daycare drop off was the best thing ever.
here's my vent - H and I are planning to do our training rides for the next two weekends as loops so we can refill water bottles and have our own personal rest stops back at the truck. We can vary our loop mileage quite a bit by cutting off or adding to the basic route pretty easily - and ideally I'd like to train for the actual distances between rest stops for our ride. But they haven't posted the route yet! POST THE DARN ROUTE!!

emilyj, what an asshole. You should totally be proud of yourself for your response. I would have just remained dumbfounded and lost for words and then formulated a million responses that I wished I would have said later.
I have been running almost daily the last few weeks, but never more than 4 miles. I have absolutely no desire to sign up for anything at the moment. I feel perfectly satisfied with my current workout routine (short runs + fitnessblender videos). I don't even remember the last time I didn't have a marathon or another big race on the calendar. This is so weird.
I am taking my annual "few days off in August" to rest up before starting CX training hard. My thighs are so sore from doing the first bit of a new routine to work on some of my imbalances that I can barely walk. Oh, and migraine. Ugh....

You will be fine! If you have done a ride at least 60-65% of the distance you will have no problems!

Thank you all for your encouragement, it makes me feel a lot better. Especially with the break down of mileage that @saddlebred spelled out for me. I've read so many posts on here about building up for big events, but I never really calculated how much of the race distance you guys actually completed during training.
Now, if I don't float away this weekend, things will be good I'm [thankfully] only kidding. It's going to rain a ton and I know the areas near me that will flood and have in the last couple years, but I know we'll be okay. I'm seeing lots of Netflix coming my way this weekend!

StubHub lets you enter the barcode on the tickets so they can be e-tickets. Extra fees, but at least it would be worth a shot?
