My MIL wants to take us on a cruise to celebrate her bday. Hopefully we can shuttle from the airport to the boat dock.
For the plane, what should Ari sit in? He's still harnessed if that matters. And Corinne? She's still rfing but doesn't need to be for the flight. We do not have back up seats for either kid. She will be under 3 and Ari will still be 5.
At three, Andrew just sat in the seat like anybody else. If you’re not going to need them for any other part of the trip, I wouldn’t worry about bringing car seats on the plane. There will be no room in the cruise ship room to store them.
The car seat group will say she needs her car seat but we've always just had them sit in the seat. The seatbelt supposedly fit from about 40lbs and up, both mine are under 40 but I was comfortable with the fit this summer (33 and 36lbs).
We have Cosco Scenara care seats to travel with. They have used them on every flight. Jack is over 40 pounds now, so it won't work for him anymore, but you could get a CARES harness if you want something for the plane.
If you need carseats at your destination, I'd take them - I always take them on the plane or gate check if we'll need them. We have a cosco scenera for E and a safe rider travel vest for B. B sits on the plane without anything since the vest isn't certified for aircrafts.
Starting at 4, I had A sit in the seat and gate checked a car seat if needed. Before that I brought a car seat on board for her to sit in. If we dont need a car seat at our destination I don’t bring one at all and they both sit in the seats. Our next two trips require car seats at the destination so I’m just going to have H sit in his and gate check As.

For the CARES are their minimum and mac weight limits? C is 28ish lbs and Ari is 42ish lbs.
We never got one because jack is 42 pounds and didn't seem worth it. We just barely made a flight in July and didn't have time to install his car seat so he flew without sitting in it. I was a bit nervous especially since it was predicted to be turbulent, but he was fine.
I've never brought a car seat on to the airplane for them to sit in. We fly economy and I figure my kids would be trying to get out of the seat and then all the space is taken up with this giant seat!
Also while I'm a little fanatical about car seat rules in the car, I honestly don't even consider them on a plane. I feel on an airplane the chances of a car seat being a lifesaving device are very very slim.

I've never done it for safety lol. A was good in her car seat and knew she couldn't get out of it when she was in it so I used them for that purpose. She also would never nap in a plane seat but would in her car seat in a plane seat, go figure. I'd never take them if I didn't need them at my destination though.
