We loved baker-friend's fresh pear cake and the carrot pineapple, but f-this not getting back to me thing - the backup bakery I contacted is Prantl's. Burnt almond torte with custard filling for everyone. SaveSave

Gotcha. Good, I don't like the naked cake look, anyway. And my sister finally has a closing date on a house with, if I recall correctly, a very nice kitchen, so sure!

That burnt almond torte looks delicious, though!

Cake Update: After M called my baker, she magically called me back and took care of all my outstanding questions. And she's waived her $50 delivery fee, so we're back to having cake all taken care of. M saves the day. Carrot cake and pear cake are back on the menu.
