Today is my day off but I have been at the damn coffee shop since 6:30 AM studying.
The neighbors are having some work done in their yard and the contractors hit the cable wires yesterday, so my internet is out. The cable company is coming today but who knows when that will be.
Two observations this AM.
1. People are REALLY loud in the AM when they order. I am usually here at night and people are not nearly this loud.
That sucks about your cable line spindle92! I never understand the love for pumpkin spice. Yuck!
I got my run in this morning with Buddy, we ran/walked because he's been resting for weeks and I wanted to see where he was at in terms of exercise tolerance. I signed him up for two 5ks with me on the 19th and thanksgiving. He seemed to do okay, but was a little funny afterwards. We have our annual check up next month where she'll test him for cushings. All this exercise intolerance and increased hunger/thirst seems very out of character for him in the last few months. I hope maybe it just only stress manifesting itself this way and after this weekend we can all begin living a normal life (together - yay!) again.
I woke up with neck and shoulder pain, did some of my PT exercises, and feel better, thankfully. No more headache! Last night I helped one of my friends purge stuff from her house because she just put it on the market.
I don't think I have anything exciting today. I'm hoping to leave early enough to try out a new coffee shop on my way to work.

I was told I need to get on the ball about choreographing my solo for our February show, which I know. I've just been teaching a LOT, and I've been so sore and tired all the time that I have no energy or time to try new moves. So I forced myself to stay late (after teaching for 3 hours) yesterday and taught myself 2 new moves. They're more for a workshop I'm doing at the end of November, but maybe they'll find their way into my solo, too. Who knows. It was good to feel like I accomplished something, though.
I had to go get my work-mandated annual biometric screening this morning (you pay 2x the healthcare premium if you don't get it done by Nov 10th). It's a freaking fasting blood test, so now that it's complete, I am now appropriately caffeinated and in a much better mood.
I do not understand pumpkin spice love. I enjoy it as a scent, but PSLs taste to me what I think licking a pumpkin-spice candle would taste like. Too sticky sweet and fake.
Working on some benefits setup for the new plan year today. It feels good to actually have some action items! A task to accomplish instead of being in the awkward "want to be busy but don't have goals/access/directives yet" stage of a new job.
This company and work environment have been so much better. Yesterday I almost cried from thankfulness.
Yesterday I also got my period, so that could be a reason, too
I'm stressed over the dumbest thing today. My apartments were bought out over a year ago and the company that bought them is super crooked. The management and workers are also $hitty. I brought my own washer into the apartment, but apparently I signed the lease before knowing I was going to do that (we tried to get the seller to buy them when we sold our house and decided not to take her on her crappy offer at the last minute) so there is no lease record of it. Apparently, my friend who is the old manager said it is probably in the work order history when they put it into the system to remove the washer from my apartment before move in.
The people in the front office seem to be difficult about providing me with the proper documentation. I don't know if I should just leave it alone because they DO have that in their file. If they tried to come after me saying I had a provided washer that I took from the apartment based on a document I signed prior to moving in seems like it'd have no leverage if I had to go to a lawyer.
It's my damn washer - I feel like there is no reason I should be stressed over this, but I have read all the fb reviews about this company and seen the way the property has gone downhill in the last year and the way they are treating residents and am worried.

I went for a run last night and felt a bit better about the medication thing. Another sucky thing is that I looked my benefits for next year and my out of pocket max (which I obliterate each year) DOUBLED. I nearly choked when I saw that. I'm trying not to complain that much as I just got a raise, but dang, that sucks to look at that. I just kissed 20% of my raise good-bye. Ugh.

bullygirl979 - do you have a FSA where money can be taken out of your paycheck tax free to use for medical funds? That helps me a lot.
Yeah, I did it this year to cover my OOP max. I'll do it again next year. Just sucks looking at a 100% increase. I mean, I get doing an increase, I just wasn't expecting one that high.

Ugh that blows. I'm sorry.
New employer only has an hsa so I'm with you.
I'm trying not to complain as we get our choice of 4 plans and really, we get good coverage. P only has 1 option which carries a deductible of over 6k. So, it could be a lot worse. Trying to look at the positives. And, I will do a FSA again which which help with taxes.
No advice, doglove, just commiseration. I hate shady apartment rental companies. I rented years ago from one that I found out after signing the lease was notorious for keeping the entire security deposit. When I moved out, I cleaned that damn apartment top to bottom and scrubbed it spotless. They still kept half the security deposit because the INTERIOR of the ductwork was dusty. WTF.
doglove I don't know what I'd do in that instance, if the lease paperwork lists a washer as an inclusion and you don't have any paperwork to show it'd been removed for you.
Any chance you have paperwork from when you bought the washer? Unless they're buying the same makes and models, they aren't going to be able to claim it was one of theirs.
If you have to, I'd craigslist a crappy non-working washer to replace the one you're obviously taking with you. And again, it's not like they can be all "doglove took our fancy LG top loader" if they don't have any record of purchasing your particular machine.

They are not even close to the same models, my dad bought a very $$$ high end front loader for me and they stock the apartments with a specific cheap model/brand top loaders. I do have the manual and original paperwork with the machine (along with various parts it came with) and talked to my dad who said he still has the original receipt from the purchase with the serial number to prove it's mine.
They keep a record of the work orders in the file and on the computer system. The previous company/manager knows he put the work order in to remove the washer so it is definitely in my file or in the computer system somewhere. I could swear that I signed something or remember INITIALING "here" that I had brought my own washer on some paperwork. I've combed through all my boxes as I've been moving and can't find a copy of that paperwork - ugh. I wouldn't have gotten a copy of the work order to remove the washer though because it was done prior to me moving into the unit. And of course the maintenance log associated with my online account is only active from when they purchased the property in June 2016.

Ugh what the hell? I'm so relieved I'm getting out of this place, but I wish I had really checked on this before the property sold last year when I had the old management write up my current lease.

Ugh.
So I'd take a different, slightly sneakier approach. I'd email them to ask about whatever walkthrough/inspection they will need to do upon your move out,and insert a sentence about how you're still moving your last few boxes of clothes and your washer through XXX date. If they don't reply back and be all "Hey, where'd our washer go if you have your own?", you will have a paper trail showing that they knew the apartment was going to be washer-less after you moved out. I've basically already started the email conversation with them chalupa. I sent an email yesterday like hey, I am concerned about this and just to let you know I've had my own personal washer, it wasn't on my updated lease and so they sent me a copy of the month early addendum today so I thought I'd just write back with photos of my washer and say I signed something upon move in and would like to get this sorted out before my move out date in December. Not sure if I'm overthinking or what.
I realize the worse case scenario is that I buy a cheapo off craigslist, I just hate that I even have to worry about it with this scumbag company. The previous company and employees would never act like these people.

Honestly, if you're expecting trouble, don't bother buying a cheapo. Should they keep part of your security deposit, just take them to small claims court. It'll probably be 6 months before you get your money back from them through the courts, but you've documented it and asked them to find the original paperwork - no judge is going to say they can keep the money.
Even if you put a cheap washer in there, they still might keep your deposit over something and you'll still end up in small claims, so save yourself the extra purchase and the hassle of dragging it in to the apartment. SaveSave
