In my quest to find a new deep treatment face mask, I'm trying a black clay one tonight and it's really strange. I look like some racist donning black face for Halloween. And it's making me uncomfortable.
I have the same issue. I have a charcoal mask that I love for what it does for my skin, but I hate wearing it because I feel like I shouldn't be. So it doesn't get used as much as I'd like, because it makes me uncomfortable.
Are you walking around stating, "HEY! I'M WEARING BLACKFACE!"
I think this is a little ridiculous. It's a black-colored mask, not actual blackface.

No, of course not. That's an absurd question.
You're allowed to think it's ridiculous and I'm allowed to be hesitant to paint my face with a black mask.
Yes, you're allowed to feel however you want about it. I'm just saying you're implying a meaning that doesn't exist. If it makes you feel uncomfortable, don't use it.
Trying to figure out what I want to buy with my Sephora coupon. I'm torn between Huda Desert Dusk and Nars Wanted. Any opinions?
I just bought the desert dusk palette. The colours are amazing, but it takes a while to build up the colour. There’s a lot of fall out and the super deep purple color is basically nonexistent. Kinda chalky. I’m unsure if I want to keep. Maybe if you’re really talented, you could make it work but there’s a lot to build and reapply and blend and then reapply to build over and over again :/

You are pretty much saying what I've been reading everywhere, including Temptalia. The looks I've seen are amazing but I am just not that talented nor do I have that kind of time. Temptalia gave them both the same grade but it seemed like I would be able to use the Nars palette a lot more so that's what I ended up ordering.

I'm tempted to get the Desert Dusk palette. I really don't need another palette, but I think it's beautiful. I've seen mostly positive reviews. Maybe I need to read the temptalia one.

I’m trying to switch all my makeup to cruelty free brands and it is hard. MUFE is one of the best brands with colour shades for brown people. Finding something new that isn’t simply yellow based is difficult. Also benefit bronzer is my favourite and I can’t decide on a replacement. I also love my nars concealer and tinted moisturizer.

Ugh. Why aren’t all companies cruelty free?!
For a good high percentage, I would say China is the reason.

Yeah, I know. I like the companies who just don’t sell there to remain cruelty free.

Good, I can feel better about trying not to spend money and therefore not being able to buy this!
OMFG. Wearing a charcoal face mask is not blackface. It's not even close to blackface.
Unless you post a picture to IG with a racist AF caption. And then it is. (there was one a few months ago - I forget the caption but something about becoming an angry black woman)
I'm trying very hard not to use my 20% off coupon for ulta. I DO NOT NEED THINGS. I'm not wearing makeup today. LIke at all. That's a first in a looooong as time at work. Today was not a day for things. I wanted to do none of the things.

OBVI. But just wearing a charcoal mask in your damn living room by yourself to clear your pores is not blackface.
Eh, I'm an insta whore, so I like to err on the side of caution. It also doesn't help when my husband makes fun of me CONSTANTLY if I only have a charcoal mask on as opposed to multi-masking it. I don't know what to tell you- it just feels icky.
Ughhhhh Ulta why did you send me a coupon. Just a few days ago I told myself I wouldn’t buy the expensive eyeshadow I want until I had a discount. Be strong, self, be strong.
I used my Ulta points and the 20% off including prestige coupon to get a spare foundation, my perfume (Miss Dior Absolutely Blooming), and three hair products for $24.
Any recommendations for something to help facial redness? I *think* it might be KP on my face, in which case I'm probably out of luck since nothing I've tried on my arms has helped at all. Bonus points if it's cruelty free and at Ulta.
I'm super annoyed about the Ulta 20% off right now. I was hoping one would come after Christmas. I have 2000 points but I also put some makeup on my Christmas list that I want to get myself if I don't get it as a gift.

I plan on finally cleaning and organizing my makeup area this weekend. I may be slightly terrified. I have so much and keep buying more. I have a makeup addiction.

Can you order it 20% off and if you do get it return it (the gifted or yours, depending if you want to get a store credit from the gifter for full price)?

I was concerned about returning something purchased for points. Don't you know get the right number of points back or something? Can you return a gift without a receipt?

pandorica you will get points back for the value of the item they used toward the item. Like if you use 1,000 points, they will prorate the points for each item based on its cost and they'll refund those and the money.
I've done this a few times and felt like I got shorted - but I did the math when I got home (twice) and they did it correctly. So I'm no longer hesitant to do this. Especially since I felt like it was a sneaky loophole to redeem points for higher values and return things (I only do this validly, never to intentionally cheat the system)
