wineandcheese - I'm sorry you've been feeling that way. I have, too.
I haven't felt like I've had anything positive to post, so I've just been staying quiet. And then I feel bad about the idea of coming to you all for support when I haven't been actively participating in threads, because I don't want to be a BOTAH. I promise that I've been reading the threads and following along with what everyone has been up to. I could make excuses for my lack of responses and support to everyone else's posts lately, but I won't.
I'm hoping to get my SS package mailed on Friday. I only have one more thing to pick up at some point this week.
Unsure on plans for the weekend. H isn't working, so hopefully we'll end up doing something fun. We've been doing a lot of cooking and baking together lately, which has been really nice.
bk1- the thought of my college computer being only 8-9 years old made me feel old LOL. I graduated undergrad in 2005 so that computer was probably a good 15 years old. My grad computer is super slow and no longer has a functional wireless adapter. It’s 11 years old or so.
Not much going on this week. Just surviving being sick with having to take care of the boys. L is a mess today and I really hope he’s not getting sick again.
We are going to Costco when l wakes from nap.
Saturday is our family Christmas get together and we will go so long as everyone is healthy. My cousin just had their second son 3 weeks ago or so and I am excited to meet him and enjoy baby snuggles!
We still need to decorate our Christmas tree so hopefully we get that done! I should start wrapping for Christmas and C’s bday too.
*hugs* wineandcheese and katespade! Don't feel bad about coming here for support if needed. I can't promise I'll have advice but I'm definitely willing to listen!
wineandcheese , katespade , - That's the best part of this group, the support. Let us know if we can help in any way. I've been so freakin slammed with work that I've been so out of the loop. But dang if I wasn't thinking the other day about how the people here are some of my favorite people...and I've never met most of you in real life.
Sometimes you give, sometimes you take. It's all good. We are here for everybody!
Two nights of travel this week as I try to wrap up the work year. 13 work days left! Hoping to finish up stocking stuffer shopping while I'm out of town and having nothing to do in the evenings.
My BFF is having a Christmas party on Saturday so looking forward to that!
Random: had Taco Bell for the first time in forever today. It was yummy.
Hope you feel better luv2rn4fun! My college computer is also 15+ years old I think it has a Kerry/Edwards campaign sticker on it so no denying its age. It's colllecting dust in the basement because I have no idea what to do with it.

ewall I actually had Taco Bell for the first time in forever today too! Lol. I saw a commercial yesterday and was like hmm, that sounds good. TB is not usually my fast food choice, I just eat it every once in a while (like, twice a year) because DH likes it

I have been sick and feeling miserable. My approach this week is to try and get done what I absolutely have to and anything beyond that will be ok if I don't get to it.
We're doing a bunch of Christmasy stuff this weekend - my parents are coming down for a few days and my mom will bake cookies with me, then we're taking DS to see Santa on Saturday and also getting our tree at some point. We haven't put up any decorations yet but DH is WFH tomorrow and I think he's going to do the lights outside.

Hi everyone! I have been away for a while...sorry! There was a lot going on in the past few months and I was having a hard time juggling. I was in a car wreck, my dog was killed, started my new position/promotion, and then the holidays started.
This week I have a 3 day meeting 4 hours away. As much as I will miss L, it will be really nice to sleep in, watch what I want on TV, and drink hot coffee.
Took C and G in today for shots. I forgot how many shots C had to get today. Poor girl. Afterwards we lounged around the house and had lots of cuddle time.
We finally switched G's crib to a toddler bed this weekend. 2yr, 10 mo. It's going pretty well. The first night was rough but last night she stayed in bed until 4:30. I was able to get her back to sleep until 6 when we were up for the day. She was sleeping until 7-7:30 before the transition though.

rockinrobyn I’m sorry you’ve been through so much! I’m glad your ok. I’m so sorry about your dog 😞
Thank you ladies for your support! I talked about it with H last night and we are going to work on it together. I think with him working long hours, having some shitty jobs at work and the stresses of the holiday season, I am hitting my breaking point. My SIL is also really supportive so I may reach out to her too. I don’t want to go on AD medication again. They worked great but never want to go through the withdrawals again if I stop them. Again I appreciate each and everyone of you! ❤️
My supervisor is coming in early today to go over health plans since the one I have doubled in price and they need to add a second employee. My job pays 100% of the cost of the plan. Currently I’m the only one with benefits here but now there is a second full timer so they want to see if there is a cheaper insurance company with similar coverage as I have now. I don’t care about switching companies but I want to keep my current doctor and not go broke paying the deductible.
Sorry about the transfer getting pushed back. Good luck with retrieval pooh8402.
Off work early today (well, I'll be working late into the night on my laptop) so I finished up stocking stuffer shopping and now I'm watching Bridget Jones's Baby.
Still pretty sick today. L was up a lot last night so now I am paranoid he is getting sick too. C was pretty much demanding that we walk to a park so I finally gave in and took them...my neighbor thought I was crazy and insisted I go back inside and lie down (so thankful for her and my dad- both have offered to get me whatever I need and it’s nice to know I have support when DH can’t really be here for me right now with work being crazy).
I did manage to make some chicken noodle soup, put up the ornaments on the tree (fun activity for C to observe and enjoy and fun to see all the ornaments, especially the first year ones for C and L), and quickly wrapped C’s bday presents!
I want to dress the boys in their matching Santa pj pants and take pictures but not sure how motivated I am. We’ll see how the rest of the day goes once they wake up from nap.
Today is DH’s birthday. We celebrated last weekend but I feel bad he has a long work day. I’m actually getting off an hour early for a firehouse meeting.
Random ahead. Last Sunday we bought a few bottles of wine during our wine adventure. I opened a bottle of wine, it was a baco noir, and it was bubbly. I was so sad lol. It definitely wasn’t what I tasted at the winery. Granted it wasn’t bad but not what I expected lol.
pooh8402 SO Sorry it got pushed back....good luck with the transfer! Keep us updated!!!
My boss is so rude to employees. We have holiday breakfasts at all of our office locations this week. Every staff member RSVP's to the location closest to them. One of the employees is transferring to a new location. You can tell the Manager was like, "Hey! Come to our location's breakfast to meet everyone." She was here...awkwardly. She didn't know very many people. I came up to her to say Hi. I heard the Manager introducing her to some of the team. At one point, my boss asked her something to the affect of what she was doing here. I don't know what prompted her to ask the employee if she was also coming to the breakfast at our main location, but she did. I don't know what the employee said back. I just heard my boss say something like, "Well, I hope you RSVP'd to this so we have enough food!" Um, we just confirmed her transfer a few days ago. I doubt she did. All that did was make her feel awkward in front of her new team. She didn't stay long at all and rushed out after that, saying she'd see me tomorrow at the main location's breakfast. PLUS PLUS PLUS....we had SOOOOOO much food leftover. It was ridiculous. That poor girl could have stayed to eat and then some. She is so rude....ugh.
Anyone have a cure for a super irritated nose and tons of sneezing that doesn't involve allergy pills? Ugh. I can't stop sneezing and don't want to risk anything affecting my milk supply right now
