I'm taking a knitting class through the library and am making a 12 Days of Christmas mitten garland to learn color work. The original project for the class was a bit too advanced for me.
First my MIL loved her fingerless gloves, so score. I told her the sweater vest will NEVER happen, and she seemed OK with it. My mom loved her cowl, but I have a feeling she's saving it for a special occasion, LOL.
I went out to CA for my parents' 50th wedding anniversary, and someone broke into their car while we were eating. They stole my bag I took on the plane, which included my knitting!!! They stole a half-finished scarf from yarn my mom bought from an indie dyer in Nashville, and some discontinued yarn a friend gifted me that I was using to make her some fingerless gloves. SO sad! On the plus side, I was able to contact the dyer in Nashville and replace the yarn. Back to square one on the scarf.
My Advent scarf is done, I need to remember how to post a picture and I'll show it off. I love how it turned out.
I’m working on a little jacket for dd with fabric she chose. Unfortunately, it’s pretty snug . I went by measurements and it fits but not with as much movement as I’d like for a child. Hopefully she can wear it a few times before she outgrows it.
Luckily I realized it before i added the ruffles and was able to get more yardage so I’m going to recut in a size up (or 2) in the fall and try again.
Heart rattles and bells freshly out of the kiln. I'll make more this weekend, assuming it warms up enough (it's FREEZING)! I have a lot more of this glaze load to photograph and another glaze fire in the kiln today, I'll add pictures here as I get new ones taken.
Every time I look at this post for updates I see these bells and just stop and stare. These are all really gorgeous.

Thanks! I've made a bunch more, my kids wanted to give some to their teachers. They'll go in a bisque fire by the end of the week (hopefully- everything needs to dry out), and then I'll get them glazed up and fired again before V-day. Tight turnaround, but, I think I'll get there.

I have about 25 WIPs right now, but my favorite is this diagonal twist scarf from Purl Soho (minus that I just had to rip about 4 inches because I FREAKING SOMEHOW MOVED THE STITCH MARKER).
Seriously, though, how does a stitch marker that is literally just slipped each round wind up somehow scootched over 4 stitches? It never came off the project, to my knowledge.

I asked K twice before if he wanted a shirt for the 100th day of school. No, and no and I don’t want to see the other shirt you made were his previous answers. But I’m a glutton for punishment, so I asked again today.
Yes, with 100 minions, no 100 bananas and a minion was his answer.
I think I nailed it.
The reality he’ll wear it long after tomorrow makes the time spent scattering those bananas well worth it.
I'm heading up a gathering of fiber arts stuffs in a couple weeks. Weaving, spinning, fiber prep, knitting, naalbinding, etc... Right now I am focusing on the weaving part.
I have two rigid heddle looms warped up. I have two inkle looms warped, and one waiting for warp. I have one card weaving loom warped up, and another waiting for warp. I have one table multi-harness loom warped, and another one arrived yesterday and I need to figure out how to finish the wood and then assemble, and then warp.
Then I can bop back to spinning and fiber prep... And knitting. Those are less intensive, though - it's mostly just gathering things for people to play with.
I'm also knitting up a bunch of small bags for the same event. 12, all using some historic colorwork stranded patterns. I think I'm on number 8.
I’ve had this fabric for at least 2 years. It was intended to be a dress but dd has grown, of course, so a dress wasn’t going to work. She loves skirts and this was an easy sew. Pattern is a modified Violette Field Threads Sophia (free on the website).
Dr. Seuss Quilt for a member of my team who is expecting - super fast since most of the top is a panel. Pieced backing. And I remember how much I hate binding every time I finish a quilt.
I did the piecing and binding.
The quilting was outsourced to a lady I know with a long arm - she used a program that machine quilts ABCs and 123s.
