2018 goals: - [ ] Learn to make macaroons - [ ] Run 1000 miles - [ ] Learn to crochet - [ ] Build HC and yoga business more - [ ] Run 2 new states - [ ] Volunteer opportunities
Thanks everyone. Still shocked it happened, hasn't sunk in yet. I just need to learn to love salt water now! I'm also going to be competing directly with one of my best friends which makes me very happy.

Essentially my aim is to train well so that I just enjoy the following events in 2018: Boston Marathon - April Ireland 5km Swim - May Spitsbergen Half - June Aquathlon World Champs, Denmark - July Berlin Marathon - September (not confirmed) Aquathlon Euro Champs, Ibiza, Spain - October
Placing / podium is a bonus and not my main goal - plus it's only a possibility in 2 of these races.

I think I’m adding to mine. My total mileage for this year running was 698.4 miles. I’d like to say I want to do an even 1,000 miles in 2018 but that seems like a pretty big jump so I’m going to have a mileage goal range. I’d like my total miles run in 2018 to be between 800 - 1,000 miles.

Putting this here since there's really nowhere else to talk about it at the moment. Adding to my list for 2018... get pregnant? FI and I are going to start trying for a kiddo after my 100 in August. It's exciting and also REALLY weird to make that mental switch from "avoid this thing at all costs" for my whole adult life to "yes, let's try to do this on purpose now."

Good luck! And I totally understand the weird. It felt WILDLY reckless to be having sex without any sort of birth control when we first started TTC.

RIGHT??? I still have the IUD until after the 100, because I really don't feel like dealing with periods between now and then (I'm one of the lucky ones who doesn't have one at all - yay!) since in the next few months I'm defending the Ph.D., getting married, and running a 100 miler. But as soon as I'm done with that race, it's all systems go for kiddo. We're really excited, but also recognizing how bizarre it will be to be TTC.
H&F Goal for 2017 I think I stopped posting sometime in 2017 or 2016. Anyway, I was royally burned out from years (in some cases decades) of consistent running/triathlons/CrossFit. So, my goal for 2017 was to suck it up, and get back into a dance studio, despite being 33, with two kids. I left the competive dance world, at 22, when I tore both my groins cheerleading, in college. I thought I'd never dance, especially at that level, again. Then, met Mr. Kirkette at 23, was married by 25, and eventually had Kirklette(who OMG, will be 8 this May) and Baby V (who isn't a Baby, as she's almost 4). But, never say never!
2017 Goal Recap I hit this goal! I take some form of a dance class almost every day, and a 90 minute Advance Jazz (4/5 Level) twice a week. During the week I condition with Barre, yoga, weighted Modern, bootcamp, and rowing. I'm to the point where I can hold my own with current, and former professional dancers. So...
2018 Goal
Goal 1: My 2018 goal is to audition and book professional dance gigs. Secretly, it's how I'm coming to terms with (aka yelling, "Screw You!" to) turning 35 this June. This time next year, I'd like to be dancing for a sports team, commercials, music videos, or in Disneyland parades.
Goal 2: I'm coaching a kids marathon team for my second year. Getting all my runners through the Kids Run the OC Marathon, happily, healthfully, and injury free is another major goal for the year. I'm enjoying running so much more through the eyes of a child, than I did on my own.
