There’s nowhere else I can wig out about this. My mom is sick. Like a stomach bug. She was throwing up all night apparently. I am severely afraid of throwing up so now I’m at Level 1 Million anxiety. Worried and sad that she feels so bad, scared I’m going to catch it or something, worried she’s going to miss some part of the day, etc. We ate all of the same things yesterday except different flavors of ice cream so I don’t think it could be food poisoning.
Oh no!! I hope she's feeling better and that you stay well. ANECDOTES: DH and I went away for the weekend for our first anniversary. I provide that context to say we TOTALLY MADE OUT. I woke up the next day with severe stomach flu. He never caught it. Wishing you a stomach of steel like my DH.
It could still be food poisoning and not contagious. It can take a few hours to a few days for food poisoning symptoms to appear. Lots of healthy juju to you! I hope your mom can get to urgent care or the ER for some zofran and fluids.
Praying your wedding day is beautiful and wonderful for you, and that your mom's body is rid of whatever bothered her and she can spring back to health quickly for your big day.
Keep her contained. Don't go in there. Don't touch anything. Get her zofran if you can. Get her to eat and drink as soon as she is able to keep it down. Give her some bleach cleaning supplies if you do need to use the room at all.
Thanks everyone! I took her some toast and tea and she’s kept that down and doesn’t feel nauseated anymore. She’s going to skip hair & makeup and try to get some sleep. She said if she gets sick again she’ll agree to go to the clinic. Now I just need to get my anxiety under control, lol.
The stomach bug is usually really quick. My oldest had it yesterday afternoon & is already feeling much better, less than 24 hours later. The rest of us have been drinking grape juice and are feeling fine. I hope your mom is feeling much better soon!
Remember, it's completely normal to feel nauseous when you're nervous/anxious. So, if you start feeling a little nauseous, it's VERY likely it's just nerves, not whatever hit your mom. I'll send out some good thoughts and prayers for everything to go perfectly today! Please post pictures!

She did get sick again so my dad took her to the clinic. I’m just sitting at the hair salon waiting to hear I feel so so bad for her. Plus, my parents are divorced so I know she’s not thrilled about her ex-husband taking her to the hospital. I’m trying real hard not to freak out with worry for her (and my own health honestly, lol). I told her we can have the ceremony at the hotel if we have to and then FI and I can go out to the church just for pictures.
I’m so sorry! Hopefully she’ll get some Zofran and fluids and at least feel better enough to make it through the ceremony. Drink some of that grape juice yourself and try to relax!
My mom doesn’t want us to change plans, that would upset her more than missing the ceremony so I think she’s going to miss it. I’m trying really hard not to ruin my makeup.
Can you delay the wedding a little bit? Perhaps your hired services can wait a little bit. Our wedding ran a good hour behind schedule due to a few snafus and both our officiant and photographer were really flexible and accommodating.
I'm sorry things are not going as planned. I hope you have a lovely day anyway!
