Getting my kids’ hair cut. We have sworn off home hair cuts after several disasters. The boys won’t sit still and we only have moderate success at the fancy kids haircut place with truck chairs and big screens for cartoons. But that place is closed Sundays and only open until 5:30 on weekdays. So that leaves Saturdays and we still need to schedule around overlapping nap times. But it books up, so we need to schedule several weeks in advance.
I used to hate folding clothes but I've conditined myself to pair it with tv and now I'm ok with it. Everyone in my family now knows that if Im folding clothes=watching Real Housewives. Leave me be. You want clothes? Go entertain yourself lol. You can't be in here.
You guys got any clothes for me to fold? I have a lot more series to get through.
Sometimes I really hate being the organizer, chef, decision maker, reminder, tutor, laundress, arbitrator, nurse, taxi driver, etc.
The big stress is the four year HS plan for DD. How many AP classes? Which ones? When? Electives? When? Athletics? What time does she have to be there and be picked up for her different sports?
These are the times i hate that DH travels and is totally disconnected during the week and exh is so laid back “she’s just like you so you know she’s going to be fine, whatever you and she decide will be great”. Unhelpful ugh.

I feel like we live parallel lives sometimes. DD was just talking about the AP classes she is approved for in HS and my head started spinning. She’s choosing not to take AP science and I’m proud of her for that decision but I’m worried about the extra work she has + athletics. Right now she manages well but I think HS will be much more challenging.
Its tax season for DH so my responsibilities just doubled - or maybe not since I feel like I do everything anyway. Tonight DD has basketball tryouts until 5 and a Religious ed event starting at 5:45. Her friends Mom texted me and asked if I could take her DD too so now I’ll be driving like a madwoman to pick the girls up, get them food and then to their event during rush hour. Then, I have to turn around and take DS to his basketball practice by 6:15, go home for maybe 1/2 hour and then leave again to pick up the girls. I already want this day to end.
And...also insane - they told DD to choose her classes. She could literally choose every AP class on there. Their only guidance was a recommendation for “two honors classes a semester”. Because the classes are listed R, H, PAP, AP, CC she just avoided anything past Honors.
I need someone to tell me how much harder the AP sections are over Honors for EACH specific class/AP test. It varies WILDLY across subjects and teachers, and I think it’s crazy to map this out before we even get to the HS campus! (ESP as in our district there’s HS for 9-10 and Senior HS for 11-12). I feel like my oldest is going to get screwed because IDK and the other two will benefit from her experience. It’s so stressing me out.
Also, I have never been so happy as when DD decided to do the track intensive instead of basketball!!

It’s really hard to figure out what’s best. DD wants to be a writer and is looking forward to AP History and Literature which are both writing intensive but I don’t think she understands how much work it will be (and neither do I really but I think it will be challenging). Thankfully I have a friend who has 3 kids, two are in college and have been through the same HS so at least I can ask her.
justcheckingin73 - I don’t know why this hasn’t occurred to me - our sitter is at the senior high and is in AP classes - I will have DD talk through her four year plan with her today!
DD hates writing, so English classes will be taken in community college mini-mesters for sure!

That’s perfect! I’m just hoping the transition to HS will be as easy for her as middle school. We shall see...the hormones have ramped up recently 😬.
