I'm 31 and my skin is dehydrated and sensitive. I sometimes get oily and very rarely deal with any dry patches, but my skin can get very dehydrated if I'm not careful. Sometimes I wake up feeling very greasy and other mornings my skin feels normal. I have not been able to pinpoint what causes such a drastic difference. I have enlarged pores, some fine lines around my eyes and on my forehead, and still am dealing with breakouts, mainly on my chin. My skin is very easily congested. Here is my current skincare routine-
AM Either cleanse with micellar water or a gentle non foaming face wash depending on how my face feels Vitamin C (sometimes, I maybe do this 2-3 times a week) Dr. Jart Cicapair Serum Clinique Moisture Surge Sunscreen
PM Double cleanse with a liquid oil cleanser and non foaming face wash Alternate Sunday Riley Good Genes or Paula's Choice BHA (I love both of these products) I use an essence toner and a heavier moisturizing essence Dr. Jart Cicapair Serum Either Belif true cream (I think this is too heavy for my skin, it never really sinks in) or Clinique moisture surge layered with marula oil
I am pretty happy with my skin at the moment, though I am currently dealing with some irritation and minor breakouts. Weekly I also use a detox mask and every couple of weeks use the DE baby facial. I just ran out of my good genes tonight and while I love it, it is so expensive and I am wondering if the differin would be a good product in place of that, even though I know they serve different purposes. If I was to try it, should I stop all the other actives? Any advice?
I don't really know if you want something to replace Good Genes if Differin is a good choice. This blog post goes through some alternative options, although it notes nothing is really quite as good as Good Genes due to the formula. I have the Lac-Luronic Serum and I like it.

I was wondering if I was out of the good genes if this would be a good time to introduce the differin. Can those products be used together? Not on the same night but alternating.
