ewall That's really sucky timing! Our HVAC unit is really old, so we're not expecting it to last much longer. We want to go ahead and get quotes for a new one because we want to make some changes and don't want to be forced to make a quick decision when it does break.
Today is H's birthday. We're going out to dinner with H's parents and back to our house for cake. She made red velvet from scratch. I'm definitely more excited about the cake than dinner.
tacocat cake sounds delicious! Ironically, our old HVAC system has never given us a single issue. It's our newer unit (we have 2 zones) that is super high maintenance. Oh well.
I'm going to see a couple more houses with my mom this afternoon. It will be heartbreaking when my mom does move since she's still in the house I grew up in, but I hope we find something she loves today.
We had a 4.0 earthquake at 2:10 this morning. Woke both DH and I up. Didn’t really fall asleep again. We were really close to the center of the earthquake. Definitely need to be more prepared...we are due for a big earthquake. And DH tells me last night that he is worried our water heater isn’t well secured and will start a fire by breaking the gas line. Something else to get fixed.
I just got offered a WFH job! It's not the job I applied for in the company but I'm definitely qualified for it, or will be with some training. I've never accepted a job without interviewing or meeting in person so I have no idea what the next step will be.

@opal congrats on the job offer!
We are officially on vacation! We are wine tasting in Virginia then getting a hotel after the last one. We’ve been awake since 3am so I don’t think we are going to make it as far as H hopes.
Of course the one week my paycheck isn’t given to me Thursday is the week I need it on Thursday. Thankfully my boss is mailing it to me in Florida.
bk1- my parents have talked about moving out of my childhood home and it makes me sad too.
@opal- congrats!
I picked up an extra shift at work today. It felt weird as it was only a 7 hr shift and usually I work 12 hrs. But it got me home earlier to spend the evening with both dh and dd.
Dinner is currently being cooked in my kitchen!!!!! This is the first time our kitchen has been fully functional since 12/18, and words cannot express how excited I am to be able to do dishes in a regular sink. 😂
