Ulta got the Skin Food propolis essence back in stock yesterday. I put it in my cart with every intention of buying it this morning so I can get double points. Didn’t get to it until this afternoon - sold out.
Make sure you read your Ebates emails today. This is the week that they send out the emails with the option of letting you get your cash in the form of a gift card.

I just clicked mine and it says the offer is expired already I was being indecisive

I have never received this email, but was able to get the offer by going to the site.
Is there a pattern to ebates offering a gift card option? Last quarter I had the option of getting my rebate in a gift card, but this quarter I didn't. I rarely ever get that option. I would have liked it this month since I have over $200 coming back and have something pricey I'm eyeing at Ulta.

I don't know. I usually get them. Once I did not, and I complained to eBates and they gave me $5 extra dollars on my check.
mortomo, I used to get the emails, but they stopped sending them to me 6 months ago. I didn't get an email for this one, but when I went to ebates website, it offered me the option to do the giftcard.

I must just check out the website too late. I've only gotten that offer twice by going to the website.
I decided to do a Foil Feb challenge. This will be great to clear out my hair/body care bags, but I'm finally back to good skin after a hellish Dec/Jan and am paranoid that trying too many different things at once is going to make my face angry again.
How do people get good at putting on eyeshadow? I have been practicing with tutorials and it keeps looking awful. Lol. Do I need a better brush set? What do you use?
I had to find the right brushes and the right shadow placement for my eyes. My 3 must have brushes are a round sort of fluffy brush that I use to set my eye and then blend in both a transition and crease shade, a flat shader brush to apply a shimmer to my lid and then a fluffy blending brush to stamp a darker shade into my outer v and blend into my crease. I pretty much just do a variation of this with different shadows and it works for me. I have hooded eyes and I can't really do anything to intricate because it all blends together.

My liquid matte fuschia lipstick is everywhere, like I put it on with my eyes closed everywhere. This is just one of the things I dealt with this morning. I should have gone back to bed.

Brushes definitely help. I like real technique, eco tools, sigma and Body Shop has some great brushes too. I have learned that less is more and you can always add so start light.

I also find that my eye shape is VERY different to those doing tutorials so it doesn't work for my eyes. Plus they also have bright lights in front of them, so it looks VERY different in natural or work lights. A lot of it is experimenting and changing things up so it works for you (I also think I don't look as good with certain looks as others, but it's my own perceptions as it's just different from what I'm used to).

I don't think I'll ever be as good as most people. Like the perfect wedge in the crease - IDK, I just lack the skills to do it. Or perhaps the patience!
That said, I do love my MAC brushes. I use 217, 219, and 239 most frequently.

I bought a Flower Beauty Galaxy Glaze lip gloss on Ulta's 20% off sale. I got it in Asteroid which is a really lovely bronze. The color is fantastic and it wears really well. The feel is good. It just applies weird, like it's really thick and hard to get on. For $10 I'd buy more of them.

I realized after watching a tutorial that I don’t have the patience/time for a lot of what they do. Light hand, multiple layers. If I actually sit down and concentrate I can get an awesome look but I’m not a YouTuber. Formula can help disguise my skill level - anything that is powdery isn’t going to cut it for me.

Brushes and quality of the shadows matter a lot. I’ve had my MAC brushes since 17 years old and they are the best ones imo. 217 is a must have. The rest is practice for your eye shape and use of correct shadow combos.

Practice, practice, practice. For a while, I was trying to get good at liquid liner. Most nights before I washed my makeup off, I would put more winged liner on or smudge off what I had on during the day and put it on again.
Also, keep it simple. Check out Emily Noel's eyeshadow tutorials on youtube. She did a series with a video on 2 shadow looks, and then a new video on 3 shadow looks. Those were very helpful to me.

I totally agree with keeping it simple. I prefer using 2-3 shadow colours and doing a winged liner and no eyeliner on my bottom line.
I've used tape before to get the corners.
Right now, I've been using TF's gold choco bar and simply using the black shadow and layering one shimmery colour on top. I've been getting great results.
