Visearts new palette tryst launches today at 9pm pst on beautylish.
I was so close to buying it until I realized that I can dupe almost the whole thing and that they are releasing two more spring palettes. I believe one is going to be a petite version of tryst.
I was in the fence about depotting almost all of my shadows but it was great being able to put the dupes together in a palette.
I met Kristen Leanne last weekend at a UD event in a local Ulta. A UD mua did my makeup and I got a free highlighter palette. Wins all around.
I also ordered some shadows from Sydney Grace, formerly feather river body. They aren't the nicest shadows ever but CF, no fuckery I could find, and they actually have a return policy.
I need help with lip color. For the last few years, i have just worn color tinted lip gloss but feel like I need something more substantial but am just not sure where to start. I am really intimidated by lipstick and am afraid of looking foolish.
Sheer formula lipsticks might help get you started with lipsticks. ColourPop has some of their lippiestix in a sheer formula. Urban Decay also has sheers in their Vice range. I would suggest starting with a my lips but better (MLBB) type shade or a rosy nude. Also stick with a comfortable formula as they're way easier to wear.

Agree with a sheer and/or glossy formula. At the absolute top of the list right now for me (warning, it’s pricey) is YSL Rouge Volupte oil in stick lipstick in shade #44. It is my ideal spring lipstick.
I splurged on one for my birthday since I had heard rave reviews for it. And....my God. It has done wonders for my skin after only two days. My skin is clear and soft. If you are oily/combo, look into the Clarins Lotus oil. (There’s one for dehydrated skin too, Blue Orchid.)

Ditto on the UD Sheer formula. Clinique Almost Lipstick is a good choice too.
For a good, not-to-bold shade of more traditional lipstick, I'd recommend Bite Amuse Bouche in Pepper (rosy brown) or Sweet Cream (natural looking pinky coral).
Also jeaniebueller, I think everyone gets it in their head that dark or bold or bright lipsticks look ridiculous on them. If you see a color that is pretty but feel ridiculous with it, try just wearing it around the house for a weekend. Once you get used to seeing yourself in the mirror with it, it starts to feel more normal.

I will second the UD sheer lipsticks. I like sheer liar. Another easy shade is Maybelline touch of spice.

Huge ditto to the wearing it at home idea. also keep trying colors till you find your bold gateway drug. Mine was Revlon balm stain in crush.

I found a new blush brush that I’m loving. My grocery store had $1 off coupons on wet and wild, so I got the white blush brush with the pink bristles for about $1? Anyway, it’s great! It’s not super densely packed like a lot of my higher end ones and I find that makes my blush go on a lot nicer and easier to blend. I’ve had it for over a month now and it’s what I use every day. And I have a TON of brushes, so that’s saying something;-)

I ordered some PC products and was super excited to get started on better skincare. I tried the RESIST moisturizer with SPF 50 and I am having a reaction - the area all around my eyes down to my cheeks is super itchy and swollen and red. I am so bummed because I started with what I thought would be the product I would have the least chance of reacting to. It makes me reluctant to try the other products.

jeaniebueller, are you washing your face in the morning? If so, I don't actually use anything but water as my face got cleaned the night before. If you are talking in the evening, then I use an oil cleanser followed by a foaming cleanser or micellar water.

This is my favorite too. I can apply it without a mirror.
I have trouble with dark colors or bright colors - it never covers the inner middle of my bottom lip and I get a big hole in the color.

I've been meaning to thank you for this advice for awhile, because I started following it last month and it's made a HUGE difference for my skin.
My current nighttime routine is: Oil cleanser Face wash 10% AHA Eye and face moisturizing creams
I just recently added the AHA. Should I be adding anything else? In an ideal world my face would be smoother and less red. I can't tell if the AHA is actually doing this, it may be too soon to tell.
Sooo.... I really screwed myself over when adding lipsticks to my 2018 project pan. I forgot to take into consideration that I was starting invisalign and having other misc. dental work this month. I also never realized how much I was going to be putting my hands in my mouth during the day. Ugh. My regular lipsticks are going to get zero love for the next year and a half.

I agree with the recommendations for sheers like UD. I also think a lip cream like Buxom in a rosy or berry color is a great way to get color on your lips without being fully opaque/lipsticky.
A pricey recommendation but my favorite lipstick is Lipstick Queen in Medieval ($24). On swatch pictures online it looks really sheer, but it gives me a cool-toned red lip that I love, maybe cuz my lips are more pigmented.
Also don't feel like you have to branch out from lip gloss if you don't want to, there are so many great formulas out there. This youtube video shows a lot of great options that are out now, from very sheer to pigmented. www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8NlNIdFzFQ

I have been loving the Stila stay all day liquid lipstick. It's the only formula I've stuck with because it's easy to apply with no skill and lasts for most of the day. I never wore lipstick or lip gloss before because I hate reapplying! Baci is a good beginner/neutralish shade.
Which is the biore watery essence sunscreen for darker complexions? I have this one added to my wish list, but I want to make sure it's the right one before I buy:

I usually wash it in the shower. I was using St Ives scrub, but stopped that bad habit. So maybe I can skip washing in the morning? IDK. That seems weird but maybe it’s because I’m not used to it

That sucks. Definitely tell them and they'll take care of you. What are the other products you ordered? I don't think you need to send them all back, at least I hope not.

I mostly ordered travel or sample sizes so I’m not out that much money, but I have no idea what I could be reacting to. I have the RESIST: hydrating cleanser, brightening essence, replenishing toner, barrier moisturizer with retinol and the moisturizer with SPF, and skin perfecting 2% BHA. I haven’t tried anything else since the moisturizer. I loved how smooth it made my skin though, until the reaction. I even did patch testing on my inner arms for a week prior.
sephora changed their shipper for the rouge/two day flash shipping and laserhsip sucks. i used to get boxes in 24-48 hours. i ordered last thursday and am still waiting for my box which hasn't even be scanned since it left the warehouse on sunday. yes, i realize yesterday was a holiday for most people. but i'm still annoyed at the huge drop-off in service. their website says 'shipped 2/15' but it wasn't scanned anywhere until 2/18. stupid.

Is that why? It takes me a week to get things now and in the past I would order at night and get my package less than 48 hours later.
