Help! I am considering trying false lashes for the first time.
My whole life, I have had long, thick, dark lashes. Need a whisper of mascara and they look perfect. Well. then I went through chemo and ended up with stumps for like, a year. Then they (and the hair on my head, I never lost it all) grew back good as new. Then last month I had surgery and the anesthesia has made me lose a lot of hair (not tons, just more than normal) and my eyelashes are stumps again.
Where should I start, besides youtube tutorials? I would like as natural as possible.

I am hopeless with falsies - but I am a huge fan of lash extensions. I have very short and fine lashes naturally and have been getting extensions for a while. I am really happy with them, I think they're a step better than the best natural lash I've seen, but not as punchy as falsies. (That would be too much for my everyday look.)

Also hopeless with falsies so I won't be much help. I think the individual lashes are easier to put on compared to a whole strip but honestly, i haven't mastered either. If you aren't open to extensions, you could try a lash serum. I've used Neulash and Revitalash (both are avail from Nordstrom) and I've seen great results.
Ardell just launched a line of magnetic falsies. I picked them up last weekend but haven't had a chance to play with them so that's an option too if you don't want to glue down falsies.
I've never has success with false lashes, but I have been using GrandeLash serum and I've seen really good results. My lashes are long (I noticed a difference about 4-5 wks from start of use). It didn't thicken them as much as I would've liked, but I at least have length and use mascara to thicken. I get it from Overstock.com and get the larger size for about the price of the smaller size everywhere else.
You have to be careful with the lashes you choose. Most in the store are very dramatic and too much for everyday wear, unless you go all out every day with your makeup. I would recommend buying a lash application tool like this: www.ulta.com/lash-placement-tool?productId=xlsImpprod15651077 The one I have is from Velour lashes, but shaped the same. I don't know what it is, but it's so much easier to pop them on using this as opposed to tweezers. I also prefer brush-on glue as opposed to squeezy tube glue.
I think the Ardell wispies or the 110s look the most natural for every day.

ETA...I've tried the OneTwoLash magnetic lashes and they are impossible to use!
Oh my gosh, I've been buying my GrandeLash at Sephore for the past year or so. I had no idea there was a larger size or that Overstock sold it! Thanks for posting (and saving me a bunch of money!).
Start with a lash serum and use it religiously for 6 weeks and see if that works. I use the kind Costco sells with great results. There are lots of magnetic lashes coming into the market and they are really easy to use! It’s only something I use for an event or evening out. Not for daily wear, even the smallest sets seem too dramatic

Which brand of magnetic lashes have you used? I can't get mine to go on correctly to save my life. They always end up halfway down my lashes instead of my lash line. The ONE time i actually got one eye on correctly it still didn't look right.

That's the brand that i have. I must just not be but cut out for false lashes!
1. Buy a separate tube of glue. Don't rely on the glue that comes with the lashes, because it might be dried up. Some lashes don't even come with glue.
2. Buy BLACK or BROWN glue. I line my eyes first with black liner, before I put the lashes on. Lining your eyes, and using black glue, can help hide the band of the lashes so they don't show.
