Today is our 9 year dating anniversary!! I had remembered and meant to acknowledge it this morning but got distracted. DH texted mid morning “is today significant?” LOL.
My step mom came over yesterday and we decided that she is coming over this Friday to babysit so we can go on a date. We haven’t had a date in 4 months so it’s long over due! I asked her this weekend after finding out about DH’s brother...she originally had mentioned next weekend but decided to move it up a week and just make it work! We are going to a new to us pizza restaurant!
So DH is sick today (with the same cold that E and I just got over). We went together to drop E off at daycare, then to the grocery store so DH can get juice.
He did walk out with orange juice, as well as a bottle of champagne. This dude does sick right. Haha.
Ugh amaranth, I'm sorry. I'm the same way when DH is upset. I'd just rather not be around him.
krystee, hoping that your H gets a job, and that your house sells. I also hope that the offer is high enough that you don't have to bring too much to the table.
Yesterday DH stayed home from work because of ice on the roads. I'm so glad he did because I woke up feeling horrible. My head way pounding with every move and I ended up vomiting from the pain. I went back to bed before C was even awake and got an hour nap. Thankfully I feel better today!
wineandcheese I would probably do nude, but it can depend on the style of the shoe.
We had a big storm roll through about an hour ago. It caused one of the windows to leak, but I couldn't see where because the blinds were in the way and stuck in the bracket. So I took a hammer to the blinds. So very satisfying after a long week. Both the window and the blinds were broken prior to this and in need of replacing so I figured what the hell, let's do this.

I just made the payment to pay off our car loan! *happy dance* I'm happy to start putting part of that money towards another loan so we can get rid of these!! Speaking of which - which loan should I be focusing on now? I'm between my student loans (2 left) and the loan for our windows. All have about the same balance, give or take a few hundred. Interest on the student loans is 6.8% and for the windows is 4.99%. I'm leaning towards the windows just because there are more things we need to do with the house and I would like to have the windows paid off before we finance anything else (we will need a new furnace, hopefully soonish - I'm hoping to save up some money but I don't think we will be able to save the full balance before we want to replace). Plus I don't want to be paying for these windows still whenever we sell the house, which I'm thinking we will do in the next 5 years or so (this is a 12 year loan but I am NOT going to pay on it for that long!). Does it make sense to throw the extra at the windows now or should I focus on the student loans? The only other debt we have right now is H's student loans and the mortgage.
Yay, congratulations on paying off the car! Such a relief. For the same payment amount, I would pay off the higher interest item first, tbh. That will free up more money in the long run for over projects. I'm from the Dave Ramsey school of thought.
Congrats on paying off the car, estrellita! I'd probably do the windows since the SLs are tax deductible.
My mom came over today and brought me lunch, and we organized and rearranged and cleaned one room, and she did a deep clean of my bathroom. I love that woman. Tomorrow I get highlights and I'll have straight hair! I love good hair days!
pooh8402 I should mention the window payments are $71 and change (I've been paying $75) and the student loans are $95 and change each. So the student loan payments are more but it's not drastically different.
I wonder if the tax deduction offsets the additional interest? Hmm. I need an accountant. Lol.
Oh I was thinking payoff amount was similar. Like windows and student loans were both like $800 to pay them off. I misinterpreted.
I did know about the tax deduction (No clue if it offsets the interest). Do you not get a 1098 every year from whoever holds your student loans? Because you should have been deducting them this whole time.

Yes we've been deducting them. My mom does my taxes though, lol. I just give her all the info. She's the closest thing I have to an accountant And the payoff amount is similar, yes, the balance on each loan is around 7k. Sorry if that wasn't clear!

We bought a snowblower today finally. Ugh. I wish we could have held out for a good deal but H spent so much time shoveling to get nowhere and I'm feeling like death today so I didn't help like I planned to. There is SO MUCH snow out there right now! I mentioned it in the @ thread but we went to a wedding last night (less than 15 miles away or we probably wouldn't have gone) and had to shovel our way back into the garage and our road wasn't plowed when we got back. Last snowstorm we got nothing while my parents got over a foot. I don't know what we got but the plow drifts are pretty high out there!
