It’s only been a few days but when I put on cerave am or pm moisturizer my skin stings a bit and then tingles for a few minutes. This means my skin doesn’t like it and I shouldn’t keep using it right?
Usually that means that your moisture barrier is in the toilet. When that happens to me- and it did last month in a similar situation- I put the product aside and go straight for the oils and find other skin soothing moisturizers like aloe, etc. I can't keep using the stinging products because it makes my skin angrier. Once your barrier is built back up, it will stop stinging.

Just as calico said - take out all your acids and just work on moisturising with oils and the like. You might find you can use your moisturiser on top of the oil and it'll not sting so much.
I would use it in addition to the bhydra, until you run out of that since I'm all about not being wasteful and it's not hurting your skin. It's just not helping it either, so I wouldn't run out and repurchase it once you are out. I know it sounds like an overload of products, but layers of different moisturizers are really the key to rehydrate the skin and not aggravate the existing acne.
I compared the ingredients really quick and there are a lot of differences, but the key ones are there so give it a try. The fact that it mentions retinols concern me while your moisture barrier is damaged, but give it a whirl and see if it burns. If it does, then just go straight back to oil and pure aloe. That's all I used for a week and a half in January and then I could use other products without stinging after that.
Yesssssssss get the snail stuff. The CosRx snail goop is so damn great. I thought about mentioning it when I posted earlier, but wasn't sure if you'd be into it.
calico I don’t know if it is the alcohols in the cerave but for the last 2 days I have just been washing with the cerave hydrating wash, doing a few layers of b hydra and then finishing with marula oil. I was applying the marula oil after the 3rd layer of b hydra but today I waited a few minutes and experienced a warming sensation ! I wonder if my issue is with the bhydra and not actually with cerave pm.
It may be with both, to be honest. I didn't try the bhydra in Jan when my moisture barrier was damaged.
I went to the Asian grocery store and got the Hada Labo cleanser this morning so hopefully that helps. Plus the premium version of that stuff you recommended should arrive today.

The alcohols in CeraVe are hydrating ones that shouldn't cause sensitivity unless you have an allergy to something in the product.
Something that happened to me in the past was making too many changes too quickly messing up and sensitizing my skin. I had to take it down to absolute basics for a couple of weeks and at one point even lay off makeup for a few days until my skin calmed down. If the new products seem to resolve things, that's great. But if not, I wanted to share what helped my skin recover.
Thanks tiramisu ! I have only been using the cerave cleanser, bhydra and marula oil for a few days now so I’m fairly sure it’s either the face wash or b hydra. I plan to slowly introduce the new stuff to see if I have a reaction.

You're welcome. Fingers crossed for no more reactions!!
mrsukyankee I have to return the stuff you recommended since it has dimethicone and mineral oil 😔 I’m going to get the regular version calico recommended.
The cosrx arrived today and didn’t have any plastic wrapping or a seal. Is that normal?

I just looked at the ingredients of the CeraVe AM & PM lotions- they both have niacinamide in them. Even though it is supposed to help with moisture barrier repair, I can't use it when my skin is really damaged. I get the immediate unpleasant burning and redness upon application. You may be having the same reaction.
