I'm getting extremely frustrated with medical bills. I just got one for an appointment for A back in Jan which I think was just a lactation consult (and we weren't charged for the others?) and lists a doctor I've never heard of. The bill also has almost $400 for my 6 week postpartum checkup. Huh? The only thing I can think of is that this is including the appointments from pregnancy. But 1. Those appointments were last year and should go towards my 2017 deductible, not 2018 and 2. That means I'm paying her AND the doctor that actually delivered my baby, which isn't totally fair since it wasn't exactly my fault my doctor left town that day. I contacted the insurance company but they'll probably have me contact the billing department from the clinic. Why can't they just figure this crap out?
estrellita: Ugh, I can’t imagine how you guys deal with medical bills. It’s so much to keep track of. Especially after having a baby! Hopefully they help you resolve it quickly
I told G this morning we were almost out of pull ups. She told me Santa would bring her more tomorrow. Uhh, sorry kid, not happening. We ended up stopped at walmart on the way home to pick up another box.
We are frequent library visitors. I really enjoying taking advantage of the kid programs. Today the children's librarian was telling me she would be doing other projects outside the library this summer and we wouldn't have children's programs. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! The other stuff she is doing is awesome but I'm so sad we won't have music class or storytime this summer. I don't know what we'll do. I like to keep to a schedule and don't do well with changes so I'm totally lost at what other free fun kid activities we can do to get out of the house.

ewall oh yikes, I've never heard of having to prepay! We could have depending on the amount because we were specifically saving for the bills but still.. makes more sense to just bill it all at once after you know the total and submit it to insurance!

bk1- our library doesn’t have classes/story time during the summer months either. And no preschool for C. Have you met friends from the library? Maybe arrange for regular play dates? I plan to take the boys to the lake and do lots of park play dates in the mornings (along with my runs and our normal errands). After nap time will likely be at home and they can play inside or with the water table. Oh, and I totally laughed at G’s comment about Santa bringing more pull ups LOL

Is A teething? She's only 3.5 months but she's drooling a lot and her hands are almost always in her mouth regardless if she just ate. She's a bit fussier than usual too. It seems early and I know E chewed on his hands here and there too before he had teeth but he never drooled this much! I didn't see/feel anything in her gums but maybe it's just starting? Is there another logical reason for the drool and hand chewing?

S cut teeth at 4 months. My niece also got a tooth around 4 months. Not average, but not totally uncommon I'm sorry. Teething is so miserable for mama and baby.
bk1 No library programs all summer? How sad for everyone! We love our library, but I haven't checked what they have this summer. Hopefully still some stuff. Without preschool, my mom's group, or library I may lose my mind.

Hmm apparently the kids doctor is leaving to start her own practice. Just got a letter in the mail today. The practice isn't open yet so I'll have to have them see a different doctor at least until she opens, but I'm not sure of my insurance will cover it and how booked she's going to get there. So it might be a permanent change, which is fine. I'm not overly attached to this doctor though she's been seeing both kids since they were babies!
Anyways, I'm wondering - is there an advantage to seeing a pediatrician over a family doctor? I know they specialize more in kids of course but anything I'm not thinking of?

Eh, not really, as long as the FP is up to date on pediatric medicine. We saw an FP in our old city who I loved and miss and he was a great doctor for all ages. The only reason E sees a pediatrician now instead of FP is because I got the pedi rec first, and the FP much later.
amaranth I know! I'm hoping I misheard or something. We go to the library twice a week so that will really mess up our routine. It's the only mom group interactions I get as well. We do have a membership to a local children's museum that we go to 1-2 times a month. I guess I could start taking us there every week.

I know my library switches from weekly storytime to once a month over the summer. Or at least that's how they did it last summer.
We survived our trip! I put everything in one of my smaller diaper bags so I wasn't unable to turn around between carrying her & the backpack. It actually worked surprisingly well for its size other than it slipped off my shoulders constantly because my baby wearing coat is slippery. I did have a bag for car stuff (knitting, baby toys, eventually a wet bag of clothes she threw up on).
estrellita- DD started teething at 3 1/2 months but didn’t get teeth until closer to 7-8 months. (So much drool)
I guess dd has decided to stop/limit breastfeeding on her own. I’m not producing enough milk anymore so that’s ok. (Or at least I think it is I feel like I could cry over this. 😳)I have been giving her a bottle at night instead of breastfeeding and she takes it, if she still seems hungry I breastfeed her but she will no longer fall asleep on the breast. But once I put her in the crib she talks herself to sleep most nights.
Thankfully my breast’s have yet to feel full since she cut her feedings back. (She won’t latch to the boob unless she’s had a bottle first)

Pumpers - anyone use the Medela Freestyle or another portable pump and/or Freemies? I'm trying to decide if those items might help me with the annoyance of being chained to the pump. I've heard though that they can have issues not working well. And I'm not sure if they even make the size I need for the Freemies? Thoughts from anyone that's used them? I'm watching for deals but even still I don't want to spend a bunch of money on something that won't work for me! I wish I could try them for a short time and return them if they don't work well!
I used the Freestyle and I liked it! (A friend loaned it to me, I bought new parts) I don't know if it was as powerful as the PISA, and I'm sure it's not as powerful as a hospital grade pump, but it was certainly useful for those times when I needed to be active.
I don't know that I would pay full price for it though.

((Hugs)) awick14. Weaning is so emotional. You are an amazing mama!!
C is sick and L seems like he might be catching it. We were supposed to go to Disneyland with my parents tomorrow but it’s not going to happen. I was really looking forward to Iran’s it looks like we can’t go the next two weeks because we are blocked out. Oh well. Hoping the boys feel better and L doesn’t get too bad. Always scared and anxious when he’s sick because of his asthma.

Definitely not full price! So expensive I saw one at Walmart on clearance but still not a price I'd pay. I added the freestyle, the s9 and another one (can't remember the brand) to an Amazon list so I can watch the prices. I'm thinking if I have to pump a little longer that's ok, I just hope I wouldn't lose ounces since I'm already just making enough!
