I don't know where to begin. But let's talk about why we are cool.

We are cool because we include everyone. We still get new people on the board, and we say welcome. Despite what people say, we aren't clique-ish. We are all friends. AND we are all different. We wouldn't be friends IRL if we just met on the street. But we are friends here. And we get to see a whole new set of viewpoints on a variety of things: politics, religion, society in general. We know lawyers, and make up artists, mathematicians, and teachers. People we would never in a million years know from Australia, and Canada, and Texas.

We are cool because we don't judge off the bat. When someone pops up with a random question, we answer them, politely. There is no hazing: Post and ye shall be included.

And yeah, there have been incidents. But those who don't belong, go away on their own.

As far as trolling... Trolls happen. And it sucks. I mean, when I first intro'ed, I had a brand new screen name. The first comment was "Welcome, Don't be a troll!" It was okay. And I wasn't a troll, so it was cool.

Do we really think it is more than one? It is the same butt hurt chick with terrible grammar and choice of screen names. And she riles us up. Very effectively. And the more we fuel her, the more she will do it. Block and report was the pact.

Also, no one knows about GBCN. No one will know about a facebook group or a private board. New people won't be able to join. I joined well after LO was born. So did MikeHoncho and a number of other frequent posters. How many more MikeHonchos will we never meet because of this move?

Come on! We are Bumpies! We make fun of the face book groups and people who got to other forums. We are the BMB that rose above. We didn't die! We are second most active only to Parenting!

For me, it's not a matter of the troll "winning" since I didn't switch solely because of troll problems. And, while it may very well turn out that I was led in this direction by a troll, at this point I don't feel it's a big deal. I just really hope this board takes off, but if it doesn't hopefully I can make friends at a different board. The vibe of hostility and take no prisoners attitude at the expense of politeness and civility that seems (to me, anyway) to be permeating our BMB lately no longer makes it a happy retreat for me.

I saw the troll say that Dragonfly dropped Rosalie on her head and that was why she had a bump. Inapporpriate for sure, but we all know that she is a great mom and didn't drop her kid on her head!

Yeah, and once again my kid is the one being voted for in the poll. I'm over it. I don't know if I'll stay over here either because honestly, I don't think the troll is a random. OP, you really don't get it, do you? This same troll has now threatened Gisa's kids, made fun of mine and of little Colin (eav2c's son). If memory serves me correctly, we have a couple of special needs children in our BMB and this crosses a very distinct line for me. She also was extremely cruel to Danielle. My opinion shouldn't be a deciding factor in anyone's decision to post wherever they like, however, I am seriously shocked that people keep rationalizing that this is "no big deal". It IS a big deal and nothing has been done about it this whole time. I cannot get the correct BGs to cooperate with my friend at the FBI who is ready, willing and able to take care of this troll issue.

They are making money off of us and our kids and I am done with that. Post where you want, but I am disgusted that people aren't thinking about this UNSELFISHLY.

You know, I'm not gonna lie and say I never got my feelings hurt by shit that happened or didn't happen on the TB BMB, but it's kinda cray-cray to me that people get so up in arms about perceived issues and then get so aggressive about it. I realize when it's me that it's MY issue (generally self-esteem related) and not something to blame others over. I honestly don't think I've ever posted anything with an ALL CAPS attitude going on. If it's even been perceived that way I'm fairly certain I was actually using a calm/shrug tone.

No. They have continually allowed trolls to tramp their ugly asses all over our board. There is no quick response of help and cleanup. There is no IP banning. Nothing. You know when they will care? When they get sued! THAT is when they will care and that will be forced caring. We aren't letting the trolls win, IMO. TB has done a fantastic fucking job of not giving two fucks about the people who bring them revenue.

For me, it's less about the trolls and more about the bigger picture. But I admit, yesterday when I posted about a very sensitive matter and I was trolled, yeah, I knew I had enough. As far as I know, TB still has not removed those posts and from what I've been told there is a speedy clean up here. Yes, trolls might follow but they run the risk of never being able to post under their real name and as far as I'm concerned all of these trolls are regulars. I feel like they have to be. If and when they post here, I feel confident in giving this board and it's mods a shot to clean it up quickly before the troll ever gets the chance to really experience the light of day.

Yeah the more I hear about what happened, the more I understand the migration. I was MIA most of yesterday so I only briefly caught what was going on. I have reported the troll and the post still isn't locked and nothing has changed.
