No. But my story is unusual. My dad is Italian, but my biological father is black. I didn't know about him until I was an adult. I was raised by my white family, but was asked a lot if my dad was black and to my knowledge at the time he was just Italian and tanned in the summer. I have a lot of anger with my family for keeping that from me.
All of the above. I’m in HR at a fortune 50 company that is very focused on importance of diversity and actively seeks out diverse talent.
In the client group I support (NOT HR, these are engineers) the head executive is a black female, there are 3 black directors (one female) reporting to her. I have myself hired countless black, Hispanic and Asian leaders, as well as openly gay people. In my own workgroup, the head executive is a Latina who regularly is in articles about our company.
Diversity is literally in our company’s credo as well.
We score 100% on the HRC corporate equality index.
As for disability, definitely, although less so in the work group I support due to the nature of the jobs. Our company has an entire department focused on ADA compliance. People choose to self identify but we have many people in wheelchairs, use hearing aids, etc, where they can be visually identified as qualifying under the ADA.
I'm at a university now, so my team itself has gotten more diverse over the years as this has been a goal. The academic unit I'm in is fairly diverse, but I don't know of any Hispanic staff/faculty members. That doesn't mean we don't have anyone; I just may not have met them yet.

The mix in my current firm is so refreshing after my previous two companies. I was legit excited when I started. I am embarrassingly behind in understanding of the work visa program but I’m learning a lot as there is a significant population in the various FL offices.
