I had a great weekend. Visited my BFF and her new baby. Got some baby cuddles in and then got quickly reminded of why I don't like babies. They really don't do very much.
This was the longest I've ever been away from the kids (6 days), so it was nice to be "reunited" with them last night. Poor DH looked completely exhausted though. DS is the most chatty child I've ever met, and DD is turning into the same, so it's a lot to handle.

We had a good weekend! Saturday morning we volunteered with our church to makeover a local high school. It was amazing. Then we headed to the track and practiced for 90 minutes and ds has his very first race Sunday. He ended up on the podium and had fun and stayed safe so a very successful weekend. A friend of DHs also brought and extra kart and so DH raced it (for free) and won his race. We got home last night exhausted and then I got food poisoning and have been dying all day. Trying to make it through watching swim lessons tonight.
Stay away from romaine lettuce. I thought the restaurant was safe....it’s not.
sandandsea Oh, I hope it passes quickly! I’m surprised they took the risk of serving it!
Our weekend was lots of chores. Sunday, we made our realtor take us to five houses. We are under contract with one but want to make sure we are not rushing into things. Lots of laundry but got it all done! And binge watching lots of Hand of God on amazon prime.
vavavictoria our naps just went away and I really miss it! One pro of my first two bring 17 months apart is that we had years of dual naps. We have mostly replaced it with a movie on weekend afternoons but it’s not ideal. We also trade off weekend mornings and DH sleeps and I work out

sandandsea, get activated charcoal pills and take 1-2 at a time, maybe 2-3 times per day for the next couple days. The activated charcoal soaks up toxins. I did that the last time I had food poisoning and it helped shorten the duration. Hope you're feeling better soon! (And I would report that restaurant to the health department - no restaurants should be using romaine lettuce.)
akafred - this kid wears me out. She would happily wear one (doesn’t need one but has them) - but it would be aqua or black if her shirt was white because that’s how she rolls. And wrestling that off would suck. Having a naked kid who views changing clothes as harder than playing a whole soccer game or going on an hour long bike ride is a beat down.
Aqua bra with white shirt wouldn't bother me too much. Esp at that age. Just trying to think of ways she can eat "naked" while being somewhat modest also. Maybe just an undershirt?
2chatter, aqua or black bra with a tank top then the white shirt?
She just really hates clothes and getting dressed so that would never happen without lots of drama.
Here’s what we’re dealing with. She sleeps in a pull-up. She will walk into the kitchen on weekends and take it off and throw it in the trash. Then try to sit at the breakfast table. Stark naked. She legit doesn’t even think about it. If she’s fuzzy in the morning and forgets to get dressed upstairs and I am not in the kitchen I will find her naked later - playing soccer, Wii, reading, watching a movie....it makes DH literally insane.

Process issue? Can she take the pull-up off somewhere that panties are nearby?
Hell, even keep a basket of panties over the kitchen trash can. Whatever works!
There’s a process - her clothes are laid out for the week in her room. She just forgets some mornings. Or isn’t really awake yet but wants food. And likes to be naked.

I'd try the diaper genie in her room or keep the minimal underclothes required for modesty in the kitchen near the trash for those occasions.
2chatter, Does anyone else in the house walk around naked? If not and it bothers you and DH that much it would be time to have the; "This is inappropriate. I don't walk around naked, neither does DH, DS or DD1. When you have your own house you can do want you want, but from now on you will be dressed before coming downstairs" talk.
If it doesn't bother you then let it go and only bring it up when someone else in the house has a problem with it.
My house is IDK maybe modest is the right word. I have a 15 SS and 13 SS. If they had it their way they would walk around the house in their tightie whities. It bothers me. A LOT! They do not want to see me walk around in my underwear so I have implemented a "if I can't wear in the house neither can you" rule. It pisses off everyone in the house, but I don't care. My house my rules and it is a hill for me.
Even the 3 year old has to be dressed now that he is done with potty training. Although he still gets away with underwear and a shirt.
She totally has the pull up placement down - weekends she just doesn’t do it sometimes. Then she goes and played naked soccer in the wrought iron fenced yard or answers the door. The kid has a varying degree of IDGAF, and when it’s high, it bothers me. Some days she’s modest, most she pushes the envelope, some days you’d think she was raised as a nudist. We are totally not naked people so it’s weird! And then I don’t help when I let her eat shirtless dinner because she’s a mess. Intellectually she gets all of the differences. She has processes in place. She just sometimes is in her own world.
2chatter, I know mine are younger, but they tend to wander naked too and not realize it. For example, if we tell them to go get undressed and ready to hop in the tub. Next thing you know, they've wandered back into the playroom totally naked and unphased. It's like they don't even realize they have no clothes on until we point it out. So... solidarity?
I don't think I realized she was doing this outside or opening the door to guests buck naked. That sounds like it needs to be a rule. A minimum of X is required in public and a minimum of Y is required in the house. IDK
It’s anywhere if she doesn’t think about it. It’s totally a rule. We also have a large red no soliciting sign because...pretty sure the last roofer thought we were soliciting....

Lmao! Ah well I got nothing. Hopefully as her body continues to develop she'll gain some modesty. Until then...good luck!

One of my funniest memories of DS was when we were sharing a condo with my BIL and SIL when he was 6. BIL is discussing what to cook. DS comes out of the room buck naked and is making the case for chicken nuggets. BIL kind of stands there for a couple of minutes during his monologue, and finally says, "Boy, you're naked" . Didn't phase DS a bit when chicken nuggets were on the line.
