DH is back to work today. I'm going to pack up the girls in a bit and we are going to run by TJ Maxx and then go up to the hospital to visit my grandma. Tomorrow will be a week she has been in the hospital. We don't know how long she will be up there, but right now there is no way my mom could take care of her at home. Hoping this finally convinces them both that it would be safer for her to be at an assisted living facility.
DH's grandma has a birthday party this weekend... except we are pretty sure his aunt planned it to be at a bar. So.. yeah...
H and I are off this week to see if we can finish up phase two of our renovation. Our hope is to get the dining room and living room both done before we go back to work. We started on Friday and the dining room is actually getting pretty close. We just need to finish patching the drywall, texture the ceiling, do primer, and then paint. Then we'll move on to the living room, get that done, and go back to do the trim/crown molding in all three rooms (kitchen/dining/living) once everything else is done.
And in the middle of all this, we have a couple of sunny days before the rain comes back so we're trying to get as much yard work done as possible.
I'm going to need a vacation after my vacation. lol.
I start training for the new job duties this week. I'm excited but nervous to learn these particular tasks!
This weekend we are going out to eat with my parents (it's actually for my dad's work anniversary I think but we'll be going out on my parents anniversary - 40 years!). Then Sun we have a birthday party.
I'm super excited because spring finally showed up here in MN so I'm very much looking forward to the nice weather and NO MORE SNOW (I just jinxed it didn't I?).
Good luck with the training estrellita! And I've decided that spring is here to stay. I'm not even checking the weather forecast any more because I don't want to know. I'm just assuming spring!
I joined a dinner club with local women, and we are going out tonight to a place known for its wine. Yay! I'm so excited.
No other major plans this week, which I'm kind of glad about. And starting next week, I get to work from home for a few weeks while our company moves buildings! I am so excited to keep up on laundry and vacuuming at lunch and have more time free at night and on the weekends!
Hanging at the hotel today and tomorrow. H has 2 more days of certification testing. So we drove up yesterday and will leave Tuesday evening. Then finally done driving here haha!
I work wed-sat. Which I’m actually excited to get back to work and get into a routine and eating right again.
H has off until Monday when we get back so that’ll be nice to have lots of time together
I started packing stuff we don’t use and making trash and donate bags yesterday. I have a feeling H isn’t going to be very helpful through the packing process. We have no clue when or where we are moving but once he takes a job offer the move is going to be pretty fast and it’s going to me packing everything since he will be going down first. I want a head start on it and he’s dragging his feet.
Right now I should be going through my closet, making more donation bags but instead I’m dragging my feet and enjoying the 65 degree spring day on my porch.
I work my normal schedule this week. I’m hoping we are in the newer rig this week. This weekend I’m looking forward to hopefully not entertaining anyone. I had a small birthday party for my mom Saturday then since we had a lot of leftovers, we had friends over last night to eat them up. I love having people over but it’s tiring. My H loves having guests over but it’s so much work for me. He does thank me every time but he isn’t very helpful in the kitchen or clean up.
I think spring is finally here. My allergies are horrible, I found green grass and dandelions in our yard and the trees look like they want to bud!

Busy week here! The class I teach just ended and final grades are due Wed which means I have to crank out a lot of grading in the next 2 days.
Thursday is officially moving day for us! We've been taking stuff over a little bit at a time but the movers come for the furniture and the rest of our stuff and we'll finally start staying over there. Then Fri/Sat we have to come back to the old place to get any leftover stuff and clean before our move out on Sunday. Anxious to get in and get settled.
I need to gett my Dad a birthday present and I have zero ideas.
bk1- I hope that they can come up with a plan. I know it’s hard to put a family member in a home but I agree with you that it’s the right decision.
ewall- we have 4 boxes of DVD’s and some misc stuff that is still piled in our living room. (All since oct) We have talked about getting a dresser from ikea to put where the boxes are, it would look mush Breyer and it would keep dd away from it.
wineandcheese- I hope your H gets on board and helps you go through your stuff soon. Packing at the last minute sucks. And I’m also sitting on our porch today, it’s beautiful outside finally.
HoneySpider- eek I am excited for your move! My Hs birthday is Saturday and I have no idea what to get him.
We had a great busy weekend, and I’m exhausted. I’m glad I gave today off, but I took a personal day on Saturday so I may take an extra shift this week to try and make up the money.

Good luck with the move HoneySpider! How exciting!
katespade- hope the renovations go smoothly and you guys enjoy your vacation!
wineandcheese- good luck packing and also getting your DH to help you!
estrellita- I hope this week goes well for you at work!
Today: bagels/coffee/groceries, grilling food for dinner, laundry Wednesday- preschool Friday- preschool, GYN and dentist appointments for me Saturday- going for either a walk or run at the harbor while DH goes SUP. Then we are going to my dads to take my Grandma grocery shopping (she is house/dog sitting for 2 weeks) Sunday- hopefully church if everyone is healthy.
If the boys can get healthy between now and Wednesday I will take them to Disneyland on Thursday. I am not very hopeful at the moment.
I have a pinched nerve or muscle spasm or something on the right side of my neck/ shoulder area. I can barely turn my head in either direction or move my right arm much. I've been doing heat and massage and motrin at work, but now I'm home laying down with a hot rice pack under my neck and finally have some relief. Ugh, this sucks. I'll probably call my chiropractor in a bit to see if he can squeeze me in today.
pooh8402 I hope you get some relief soon. A chiropractor was the first thing I thought of. Hope he can get you in.
So you know how I was just saying I wish my grandma would go to assisted living since she really shouldn't be living alone? Well today she is being transferred from the hospital to a skilled nursing area at an assisted living place. We don't know the details yet but hoping this is a good move. Thankfully my grandma seems okay with it. She is very independent, but she knows right now she needs more help and care then my mom would be able to give her.
wineandcheese: Ugh you reminded me that I told DH I would pack up books this week. We're not moving until the end of June but I'd like to be more organized than last time, even if we're just moving across town. Our last move was spur of the moment like you think yours will be and DH packed so much crap we didn't need (I was busy with C) including some stuff that actually came with the rental, oops! I don't want the basement room at our house to immediately become a dumping ground so I want to clear as much stuff as possible.
katespade: I love the pot lights! They light up a room really well without interfering furniture arrangements like normal dining room lights do.
No big plans this week. Cleaning & packing/purging mostly. Today: Running club Thursday: Running club, board meeting Friday: Library At some point I should take C to play group, we've outgrown baby group so now there's no set time to go in.
pooh8402 ouch, I hate when that happens! Hope you get some relief.
bk1 I hope the assisted living place works out well! I think it was hard for my grandparents to move to one but my grandpa has Parkinson's and my grandma definitely can't give him the help he needs, especially since he's been getting injured or sick a lot. It's never easy but hopefully she ends up really liking it!

Apparently our couch is 55 years old. I'm shocked it's that old, lol. ILs bought it 30 years ago and they gave it to us when we moved into our first apartment. I think it's about time we replace it! Lol

I feel like there is nothing good going on for me to talk about. My step FIL just came home from a week in the hospital (well that part is good), most of it in ICU from sepsis from e.coli food poisoning. He and my MIL babysit twice a week when I work so they haven't been lately and that has affected our work. He is likely still going to take time to fully recover so I don't know when they'll be able to babysit again.
My FIL fell last night and fractured his hand. C and I both woke up with colds this morning and slept terribly last night. My grandmother has dementia and my mom found a dryer sheet in her coffee filter basket!!! My H's aunt cleans for us every 4 weeks and her friend that drives her (she doesn't drive) and helps her clean quit with no notice. Now she has no way to get to our house.
Other than step FILs ordeal (and grandma brewing dryer sheets) nothing is all that serious but it's a lot all at once. Ugh.
My great grandmother passed away today. 99.5 years old! Her mind was there, but physically she wasn't able to keep up with her mind for a few years. It was expected, but still sad.
Renovation Update: Finished up the dining room this morning, demoed the living room this afternoon, planning to patch holes in the walls and ceiling this evening so we can run electrical and prime/paint tomorrow!
