The kids will eat something everywhere - the challenge is where DD can eat. Nothing except plain salad is ok at Mod Market. She can have grilled chicken and steamed broccoli at CPK. She can have a plain grilled burger patty at Chili’s.
oh jeez umm I have no idea. I have different favorites depending on type of food I want.
Chee burger chee burger is probably a favorite and a special treat. (it's across town about 45 min drive) They have amazing burgers and shakes. Got hooked when I was in College and was across the street from campus.
Red Robin - they are really great about gluten free options and will even fry the fries separately so they don't get contaminated. It's become our go to since it's easy, fast, and yummy. I usually get the bacon guacamole burger with a lettuce wrap instead of a gluten free bun.
And my kids are obsessed with the tiny meatballs served with tiny crunchy breadsticks used as toothpicks. Such a ridiculous meal, but they get it every time. They'll basically eat anything on the menu though. It's not exactly risky food for kids.

I don't know!!! This is so hard...
Maybe Panera. I like either the egg, bacon, and cheese breakfast sandwich or spinach and bacon soufflé for breakfast, and the modern Greek salad and broccoli cheese soup for lunch. My kids don't like Panera...no French fries.
A place I loved when I was a kid, that is no longer around, is Bill Knapp's. (If you're from MI, you may have heard of it.) They had the best fried chicken and they brought fresh biscuits and honey to your table. And seriously the best chocolate you've ever had. We went there for birthdays because they would give you a cake to take home. (There is a grocery chain in my area that still sells the chocolate cakes, so I can at least still get those.)
I really love Olive Garden for their soup and salad lunch. No one likes it but me.
I used to love, love, love, Great Harvest for their grilled cheese. My FitNess Pal app said it was 340 calories. Wrong. 740, which is more than I am willing for just a small sandwich.

Yes my kid will eat there when he is eating.
I loved cheeburger cheeburger growing up when we would go to FL! We only went 2 or 3 times over the course of 10 years but it was one of my faves!

My favorite is chili's. They have something for just about everyone there. My go-to is the buffalo chicken salad with grilled chicken and no blue cheese if I'm being healthy. Triple dipper if I'm not. And chips and salsa with ranch, always, always, always.
My kids will eat there. I thankfully don't have picky eaters.

Chick Fil A. I always get chicken nuggets and a chicken sandwich. I'm an hour and a half from the nearest one, so I usually load up and freeze some for later. DS likes the chicken nuggets too. I'd probably be 500 pounds if I had one near me.
My kids love Chik Fil A, and their play place is really clean.
covergirl82, I remember that the birthday person also used to get the percentage off their meal of their age. Which is why my grandparents thought that it was steal to go there on their birthday. I remember getting a chicken salad there as a kid, it was amazing.
I love Cheesecake Factory - Chicken Romano. It's easily 3-4 meals, so I eat for days LOVE. I also get a house salad with balsamic vinaigrette dressing. It's just greens and tomatoes, but it's always super fresh and just delicious.
Kids can usually find something since the menu is like 20 pages long, but they don't love it. They'd rather just go to Panera.
It's a huge hassle, though - at a huge mall, always packed, really difficult to even get in and just pick up takeout. So we don't go very often.
mae0111 - I won’t eat at CF any more - all of their food - including fresh fruit - has a ton of starch. GM could not explain that to me - when I showed him the food database that shows grapes and apple and melon are starch free - and he denied preservative use. They are doing something weird to the food there. Fresh veggies also have a ton of starch that are usually starch free and don’t have sauces. It’s super odd. Might download their nutrition guide for what you are eating if you care about sugar or calories as it was pretty shocking to me and not comparable to any other restaurant.
I’m sad as I loved their eggplant. And cheesecake.

That’s so odd. I literally only go maybe 2-3 times a year but that’s so gross that it makes me want to never go again.
There are probably things that are on level with other places nutritionally. I was more mad at the lack of interest in the anomaly. I’d think if your career involves food, you would care....but this guy really didn’t. He made some noise about suppliers and blah blah but really blew me off.
It used to be Chili's but the closed up and moved out of the area.
We haven't found another place that has consistently good food and service.
DD usually eats whatever when we go out but she has gotten in a super picky stage that is driving me nuts. Even fast food is off limits because the chicken has slimy stuff inside it, its too hard, too spicy, too much salt. So we have given up going out.
DH and I have been doing a lot of Panda Express as take out.
We like going to Max and Erma's (it's located in mid Atlantic states). I like the chicken tortilla soup and Third Street salad combo. Their fresh baked cookies are awesome too. I also like it because they serve alcohol.
My kids love going there too. The kids menu is pretty good.
My favorite is Cheesecake Factory. DH and I usually split the Chipotle pasta. DS eats their Mac n Cheese. DS eats bread. The restaurant is a hassle though since it's in the mall and always crowded.
Family favorite is Chili's. We are probably here 1-2 times a month. Call ahead seating, quick service, pay on the Ziosk, and if my kids act foolish, it's not too heavily frowned upon. DD eats a few things on the menu, DS eats french fries. Plus margaritas.
We always end up at Buffalo Wild Wings because it's the kids' favorite. My go to is Chipotle though.
BWW: I usually get a grilled chicken wrap with a side salad. The kids get the chicken tenders kids meal. Chipotle: barbacoa burrito bowl
I forgot about bww. My brain probably forgot about it on purpose. Usually if DH or I mention it we end up there within a weeks time.
I'm like supertrooper1 is with CFA except with all restaurants. It's probably because our fast food places consist of McDonald's and subway and sit down food is all diners or bars. Which is not terrible but I become a kid in a candy store when I'm in bigger cities.
I like the bacon turkey bravo sandwich at Panera, and if I ever see a Saladworks they had an asian wrap that was so good but there are none near me. Chilis I used to love their tomato Cajun pasta dish but haven't ordered that for a long time. That's my comfort meal.
I love mcdonalds Crispy chicken sandwich, the Big Mac, and Wendy's bacon cheeseburger with fries with a cup of cheese. I'm so gross but that's amazing.
There are too many to choose from but damn now I'm hungry.
Omg when I lived in Texas Shlotskys! They had an awesome turkey and spinach something or other.
But maybe we shoulda talk about Capriottis "The Bobby." Has anyone ever had one of those? Mmmmmmmm

I’m hanging my head in shame. Too many and yes my kids eat something everywhere. We eat out too much and I have a standard order everywhere. My favorite may be Chevys if I’m in a chips and salsa mood.
Chili’s - margarita grilled chicken Chevys - chicken fajitas Panera - broccoli soup and Mac and cheese Cheesecake Factory- Santa Fe salad Chick fil a - grilled chicken sandwich Bjs - Cobb salad though it just gave me food poisoning so it’s on hold for now In n out - #2 animal style Red Robin - bbq chicken wrap
