We use it and will keep it. But I hope they use some of the additional revenue to invest in better search functioning. I love when I search for "hot wheels race track" and it comes up with coffee cups or whatever. WTF.

We get a lot of value for our membership. We stream a lot of content and I love the photo storage. The free shipping is just a bonus for us, and I love subscribe and save.

My kids would revolt if they couldn't scream out, "Alexa, play [insert random word]" and hear a song (Did you know there were songs called "Gummy Bear," "Cockadoodledoo," and "I Poop"? I unfortunately do.)
We've had Prime for a long, long time. Over 10 years. The initial fee was worth it to us just for the shipping, and it still is. Plus now we use the video streaming and the music streaming daily.
Amazon owns us. The price would have to go way, way up for it to bother me.
Amazon kinda owns me but we are not prime. We don’t do music or movies. When I got my fire I got a free trial for 30 days and some random things I ordered weren’t even eligible for prime shipping. I also didn’t need things right away. When I order, I filter for free shipping, wait to get over to 5-7 items where they will ship free and the shipping doesn’t take that long. If I order on a Wed, most stuff will come before next Friday sometimes sooner.
I don't order a lot and it's not really worth it. But I'm lazy and we do stream music and I do own an Alexa that I want to take advantage of for more than music and jokes and weather someday. And it's Amazon and only $10/month for the things we do use it for. And I'll pay for it (and WaPo) just because WaPo simply drives Trump nuts and it's worth it for me to support them, as "mainstream lying media" keeping Trump distracted from blowing us all to hell currently one of my major amusements in life.
What I DO need to do is make sure my husband and I aren't both still carrying accounts. He got lazy when we got a new television and opened his own accounts for Hulu and I think Prime as well. I already had accounts but Mr. Impulsive over there couldn't wait for me to hook him up.

It sucks that they're raising it, but I'm not going to cancel. I have times at work when I'm stuck in a small shack, waiting, for several hours (sometimes all at once, sometimes broken up). I load up a few shows/movies on my kindle and take it with me. That alone is probably worth it for me. Sometimes it's hard to read a book at 2 am and stay awake, and I can quilt or crochet while I watch the kindle, can't do that with a book.
We watch Prime TV a lot for DS, so I don't think we'll cancel. We are more likely to cancel cable and just rely on Prime more. What I do want to do is read up on all the Prime benefits again and make sure I take advantage of more of them.

I’ve learned to change my shipping to the latest option to get the $1 media credit. I use this to buy tax software, music, rent a movie, etc. I probably rack up $50-75 worth in a year to get freebies, which makes the $119 easier to chew.
I've basically started ordering everything from Amazon, in a way I feel bad but then ... eh. Not bad enough to change I suppose.
There is a decent selection often in Prime Free one day where at the last minute, I realize oops its Thursday and I've got a kid party Saturday morning. Spend lunch going to buy a kid gift? NO NEED! amazon - Lego - free one day - up to $25- there's usually something.
Also I started ordering my dog and cat food on amazon too. I was using chewy but they stopped carrying Orijen, and I can no longer buy my cat food from them when I need to spend $50 for free shipping, and on amazon I don't and the price for the food is usually the same or less... so it's hard to not use amazon! those jerks
Just yesterday I was on steepandcheap.com about to order an inflatable camping mattress that was 55% off. Before hitting buy, I did a quick check on amazon and yup, I would save $10 from the total amount and get it in 2 days. So I went with amazon.
Needless to say, I'll pay the $119. I'm not sure what my limit is though. I think probably $200, but of course by the time it creeps to $200 I'll be like "if they start charging $300, I'm cancelling!"
that's a huge jump...but I probably won't cancel. I watch too much of their TV/movies. My H and I both listen to music through Prime. And I still get enough shipped through Amazon to justify it...I think.
Still, it's enough of a jump to change my entertainment budget. And that's irritating.
