Big hugs katespade. Glad you called and your doc was reassuring. FWIW, I bled brown (and later, red) with both of my healthy pregnancies. My failed pregnancy had no bleeding at all.
I’m an absolute emotional mess. I don’t know how I’m going to make it through the next eight days. I hate sitting in limbo, not having any confirmation beyond a BFP almost a month ago. It’s so hard to just sit around knowing there’s nothing I can do but wait. Ugh.
katespade how many weeks are you? Would your ob bring you in early? You could do betas?
I’m eight weeks today. At this point, I’ve already waited four weeks since I called to schedule, so one more week really shouldn’t feel as far away as it does right now... but it seems like time just keeps slowing down as it gets closer.

katespade Those first few weeks are horrible, especially if you're an anxious person already. I wish there was more they could do but most of the time it can either cause more harm than good (like doing a super early u/s and not seeing the heartbeat yet, trying to find baby on the doppler early and not hearing anything, etc) or it isn't cost efficient. My doctor's office typically only does one u/s at 20 weeks unless there are possible issues, you aren't sure of your dates, or you choose to get the NT scan. I suppose I could have asked to have a dating u/s done but they outsource it so it's a pain to schedule and take off work.
Anyways, I know it's hard, but try to focus on other things. There's nothing you can do right now but wait unless you go into the ER or something but that's probably overkill. Remember that stress isn't good for you and baby either so try to relax as much as you can. I know it's way easier said than done!

Is it normal for E to still be so tired and out of it days after being sick? He hasn't puked since the one time and hasn't had a fever since then other than the mild one Tue. He hasn't been eating 100% normal but he's been eating again. He's been asking to go to bed early and doesn't even want stories. He's been cranky at DC and pretty much just lays around when he gets home. Is he ok?
estrellita he is probably still recovering. Any fever or other symptoms?
He doesn't have a fever but he does sometimes say his tummy hurts (but he's said that for a long time when he means he's hungry, so who knows) and he does complain about aches. Last night his back hurt and a few times he's said his feet "don't work". It's like he has fever symptoms without the temp.
estrellita - Poor E. It sounds like his body might still be trying to be fight off whatever bug he caught. How many days has it been?
Since Sunday. He seemed a bit delirious Mon and Tue but Tue he got home late so I figured he was just tired. I went to get A today for her 6m checkup and I was going to say hi to him (I explained to him multiple times I was picking A up for the doctor and daddy would pick him up later) but he was super cranky after nap so they distracted him for me instead. I ran by and heard him crying and saying "I don't want to" to whatever the teacher was asking him to do. I almost said screw it and brought him with me but last time with both of them was a nightmare, lol. Ugh.
I just woke up from a three hour nap and I don’t have a nap hangover, so I’m happy about that. lol.
So far, no discharge since yesterday afternoon, which I’m taking as a good sign. I’m just hoping it stays that way so I can attempt to relax a little bit between now and next Friday.
katespade that’s good news! I hope the week goes quickly.
I feel pretty good today after feeling crappy yesterday. My appointment is on Monday but no ultrasound so I need to request one and make an appointment for some time next week.
I’m so jealous that your appointment is before mine! I think (/hope) they’ll be doing a dating ultrasound at mine, though. They didn’t specifically say they would, but H has talked to a couple of coworkers with pregnant wives, and they’ve all said an ultrasound was part of their first appointments.
Got my second beta back today!!!! First was 215 on tues, second 748 on Thursday. Doubling time of 26 hours. I have another one that will be drawn tomorrow and then we will set-up an appointment for my early ultrasound after I am expected to reach a beta of 1500-2000.

C has had a cold since Tues. Well enough for preschool today. But he didn’t nap and was a beast all afternoon. Fast forward to bedtime and he was screaming about not wanting to sleep in his room. He wanted to sleep downstairs. I am almost certain he’s afraid of his ceiling fan (mostly okay if it’s on low, but freaks when it’s on med/high). It was 75 at bedtime so had to be on. Finally got him to calm down by telling him I would check on him once L was asleep. He was passed out when I went in.
Any ideas how to help him through this? I also put a night light in his room. The fan has to be on this summer- it gets hit in there (oh, and he also only wanted his long sleeve pj shirt and insists on wearing his sleep sack and having another blanket...I did put him to sleep in a short sleeve but it was a battle).
DS did awesome at his first dentist visit today! He seems to have turned into a different kid. At age I and 2, he screamed/cried bloody murder at every doctor appointment. I didn't even consider bringing him to the dentist at that point. But he was perfectly happy at his three-year doctor's appointment and same today. Thank goodness!
We are starting to get sentimental because it's almost time to pack away the swings and rock n play for good. No more babies. I don't want another baby, but I wish I could keep my kids as babies longer! E is the sweetest little thing, and I just love him to pieces.'
Poor E. He's sick again but now it's the other way. He freaked out because he went a little in his underwear before he could get his PJs off and he hasn't really had this happen before. We put him in a pull up and he freaked out again because he went again before he could get up. So pull ups all day it is! Looks like we're not going to my cousin's son's grad party today I just wish he could kick this bug! He's been fine all week other than being whiny and tired but now something is obviously bothering him. I just want him to be back to normal!
ewall- you are so close!! I hope these next couple weeks go by fast! Thank you- we have been lucky to not have these issues yet. Today was much better (although he didn’t nap and bedtime was super late). He has the night light in there now and protested a little with the short sleeve shirt but nothing compared to last night.
estrellita- ((Hugs)) I hope E is feeling better! Both boys had diarrhea for 2 weeks and it was horrible.
I went to Old Navy and got a new swim suit, two pairs of shorts, and a shirt for $45!
We met up with friends at the lake for a bbq! So much fun! Hanging out with DH now and going to bed soon.
Thanks luv2rn4fun! He's doing a little better. Hasn't gone since this afternoon. I'm trying to feed him pretty much whatever he'll eat that isn't sugary (he wants candy and stuff but yeah no, lol). I'm annoyed that we've had to toss two whole things of applesauce because he wants them, then won't touch them. Oh well I guess, what can you do. FX he's back to normal very soon! He's been so whiny which is frustrating but more importantly I know he's probably miserable from feeling crappy so I just want him to feel better!
estrellita see how he does for the rest of today/tonight. If symptoms persist I would call tomorrow.
He seems ok now but he did that last weekend too. I'm just not sure what a doctor can do other than just check for signs of dehydration but we can easily do that by watching how much he drinks and goes to the bathroom. No fever either. But I'm also a little worried and want to make sure he's ok. Ugh.
estrellita kids sometimes have persistent seemingly random vomiting can occur after a stomach virus. Is he eating a lot of dairy? Lactose intolerance can occur after a stomach virus as the intestines recover. Maybe limit dairy for the next few days and see how he does. Encourage fluids and see how he acts.
