Oh Mushe, how wild! Congratulations! This little girl has been full of surprises from the start - and wow, she is fierce! Breathing on her own when she's so tiny! My H was also born at 29 weeks and I like to tell him how he just couldn't wait to come meet the world. Congratulations on your baby girl! I know it is soooo hard to have a baby in the NICU; juggling pumping and visiting them while I was still recovering was rough for me. Also, we just got back from vacation where I met a family with a 1 yo who was born at 26 weeks. He weighed 2 lbs at birth and was just the cutest, happiest little guy!

((Hugs)). I can’t even imagine. Have the doctors given you any rough timeline of when they could transfer you guys home? How long is your DH able to stay with you? I don’t know exactly what hospital you are at but I am only 30 min from DL (have an annual passport and go there all the time).

Praying for you all. Sorry you are going through this. It’s one thing for this to happen but then for it to happen when you are far from home and all your support. We are all here for you!

Mushe - just saw this post! I'm so sorry this happened but congratulations! I hope her time in the NICU is non-eventful and she grows quickly!

P.S. My first baby was also 2 pounds 4 ounces at birth! He was 32 weeks but had severe IUGR. However he's now a happy healthy 6 year old. And girls tend to fare better than boys in the preemie world! She will do great!!!

Thanks scm1011! She is doing really great, exceeding expectations despite being so petite. I just love this little peanut so much already. Pumping has gone a lot better today, so maybe all that eating I’m doing has caught up with me!
