X was invited to play a —travel?/elite? soccer team.
To the tune of $3000 over 7 months.
Pass.
I’d honestly have to get a second job to afford that. That’s a car payment! Which I’m not against, but he’s barely 8. Seems like a big commitment so young. And that fee doesn’t include our travel and hotel costs.
Ugh. Sports.
And then all the money to deal with shit head crazy soccer parents. Not a fan!
I need ham like water Like breath, like rain I need ham like mercy From Heaven's gate Sometimes ham salad or casserole or ham that’s free range, all natural I need ham
Is it just me, or is Thred Up priced high? I'm not paying $18 for a secondhand Target dress.
Is it priced by the people who sell their stuff? You can sometimes find a god deal on thread up, but it’s like shopping the Salvation Army/goodwill, just gotta be patient and look for a while. I am not patient, lol.

H really hit it out of the park on birthday gifts this year. He got me a weighted blanket which I really wanted, but hadn’t mentioned or thought about it awhile. A fitness tracker watch that looks like a regular watch, and, best of all, he booked us a weekend trip to San Miguel de Allende in October. It looks like such a neat town!
Also, my 35-themed workout was actually easier than I was anticipating so that felt good.

Today’s been quite the adventure. I should have known it was going to be rough when I got the full pat down from TSA. But we’re at our destination and DS did amazingly well on the flights!

We just started talking about adopting a second dog and the little guy we wanted to look at tomorrow when I'm off was adopted today. I'm a little sad but taking it as a sign that there's maybe a better fit for us. But still. Bummer.
TR I love my weighted blanket! I’ve been sleeping so much better.
E’s cough is not getting better so I think we’re going to head home after breakfast tomorrow and take her to the pediatric urgent care. She also said her chest hurts when she coughs so I’m afraid she bruised a rib.
DH's frequent flyer status apparently gets all of us access at the Turkish Airlines lounge, so we're chilling there before our flight. Both kids have eaten their weight in lamb stew and rice pudding from the buffet.
TR, is it a Garmin watch? I just bought one as a birthday present to myself, lol.
We unpacked our final box today (except for my classroom boxes that are going to my new school next week) making this our most efficient move since H relocated from Idaho to DC sixteen years ago with nothing more than a box of video games and a duffel bag of clothes. Three and a half days from moving truck arrival to finished, and it feels amazing!

I have no idea how it's priced, and I dont have the patience either, lol.

That's amazing. I still have boxes of stuff from January of 2017 that I don't know where to put, but it is stuff I want to keep.

Weirdly, the house we moved into is very similar layout-wise to one we lived in for almost a decade, so it wasn’t too hard to figure out where to put a lot of things Also, I have massive anxiety right now about starting a new job in a week and need to control as much as possible while I can.

It’s priced by them. Sellers send in bags and get paid pennies. They’re notorious for ripping off sellers is you read any online reviews. I have bought from them but only with a 30-40% off code. Prices are inconsistent for quality and brands but there are good deals if you look.

I just got home from celebrating my grandmother’s birthday who just turned 99 years old 2 days ago which was nice and now I am in bed watching television
We ate dinner at a Voltaggio brothers restaurant tonight in honor of my birthday and it was amazing. The mashed potatoes alone were insane and my steak was incredible. Plus, however they designed the acoustics, the room had a hush to it so you could talk to each other easily. And if you love mozzarella cheese, try burrata. It is incredible; made from mozzarella and cream and just good. lol
My great aunt went to the hospital, moving to rehab tomorrow. Her home is unfit to live in and we are looking into a long term care facility option for her. She happily signed Durable POA and healthcare POA to me, but , man, I don’t even know where to begin. It’s gonna be a long learning Sunday I suppose. Widowed, no kids, and just hid how bad things really were. I think going to a smaller space where people can help her get around safely (and not her hoarder house with stuff, plus the smoke and pet smells and feces everywhere, from said pets....it makes the move easier on her. But man I have no idea how bad her affairs are gonna be.

Contact the Elder Care Services in her area. They will be very helpful.
We're about to enter into 7 straight days of rain. I don't know how we're going to survive.
DS's oral chemo dosing increased a little over a month ago. His tastes have completely changed again. He's started eating meat again (some days), but is now turning his nose up to many of his old favorite foods. He had camp last week and his lunch went untouched almost every day. I don't know what to feed this child any more. All he asks for is Honey Nut Cheerios. We're wasting a lot of food while he figures out what tastes good to him again.
On a positive note, he spent most of last summer housebound. This summer he's living it up like a regular kid. So treatment is working. <3

My H is such a lunatic about traffic. We stayed with friends at their home on the Cape this weekend, and he wanted to be packed and on the road home this morning by 7:30. In his mind, all we have to do is pack our stuff and go. Dude, we need to contribute to the general cleanup of the house so ya know, we get invited back sometime?? He was up my ass asking what bags he can take out to the car, while I’m still packing in them. I’m like go clean the toilet in our bathroom and quit breathing down my neck!! We did get on the road just before 8, hit zero traffic and still managed to be courteous house guests.

I am obsessed with burrata!!
My local Kroger store has a great cheese section. A while ago they have a ton of burrata marked down to 99 cents. The cheesemonger told me that it would be good for a few days after the sell by date, so I picked up a few and went to town. My favorite was mixing it in with some pesto while the pasta was still hot. It was amazing!

It’s raining here so on my way home from barre, I got a latte and plan to stay in allllll day.
I finished working on Friday and I am now done working for at least 13 months. It’s such a weird feeling, especially since I’ve been working since I was 16.
We move next Sunday so this week will be spent packing, having goodbye lunches with everyone, and getting ready to move out and move to Amsterdam.

Yum! I like it drizzled with honey on top of prosciutto and bread.

All in all, a very good day so far
I want to go to San Miguel de Allende so badly! Jealous! Enjoy!!

I am dogsitting for a neighbor. I love the neighbors and I love the dog, but holy hell is he old and incontinent. I'm glad I only have solid floors now, because this damn dog has probably had 12 accidents since Friday. I literally am carpeting my floor with pee pads and still he manages to get the floor. And he's so confused by being here that he doesn't even go when I take him outside and put him down on my own dog's still-wet pee spot. I feel really bad for him and I'm snuggling as much as I can but he smells so, so bad. I've only ever gone over and fed or walked him from his own house before, and I'm kind of thinking he doesn't like the change of venue and new smells here, but I didn't want him to be alone all that time. I cannot wait to return him and will have to feign disappointment when I drop him off. Tick tock, neighbors!
