E had ANOTHER poop accident today. That's.. 4? I think, in the last week. I have no idea what to do about it. I told him we're going back to diapers or pull ups but that's probably not the best idea. I'm so sick of bringing a bag of dirty underwear home every day. I know it's because he's playing and won't stop and ask to go. He knows better. When do I start some sort of punishment for it?
He's also been hurting us lately.. like last night he completely randomly bit H when he was giving him a hug at bedtime. Tonight he grabbed my fingers and yanked them opposite directions. He just told me he did it because he wanted too. What is going on with this kid?!

((Hugs)) estrellita. C has been physically aggressive with us as well (and L). Tonight he kept hitting me during bath and bedtime. Usually he bites or hits DH. It’s so frustrating. I know a lot of tonight was because he’s tired (he didn’t nap, even though he was in his crib for 2 hours) but he does it with no explanation as well.
ETA: as for the poop issues, maybe not a punishment but a reward system? If he doesn’t have an accident on any given day he gets a treat...or a sticker that results in a toy he wants after so many days of no accidents? We had a similar issue with C at preschool and the bribery worked for us. M&Ms were his currency.

I was thinking of a reward system, for the accidents and for his behavior. I might need to browse pinterest for some ideas!
E has discovered his voice. It's adorable, but I'm beginning to think we will never have a moment of peace ever again!
You are so true in that thinking! Once the boys wake up it’s pure chaos til they are asleep again. Love them so much but some days my head wants to explode from all the noise LOL
estrellita DS1 will do the hitting and biting thing too. And most of them time it seems so random. 3 year olds are something else.
DS2 has a bite on his big toe. It definitely looks worse than yesterday. I put some cream on it before his nap, and I’m hoping it helps. It doesn’t seem to be bothering him though.

You made my laugh when reading the last part about 3 year olds. This age is right up there as my least favorite...so much good but the bad is really bad. I hear 4 is better...
suzv- prayers for no HFM. My neighbors kids had it a couple weeks ago. My DH and the dad we’re talking....DH comes in and is all nonchalant about the news. I was like “do not bring that in our house! It’s like the worst sickness ever”. DH was like “but he said adults can’t get it” and I just told him otherwise. We kept all the kids away from each other for awhile so we didn’t get it. I really hope you guys don’t either- I remember when this happened for you last year. Last thing you need with work starting and being pregnant this year.

Well that was pointless. Went in for A's allergy test. The nurse comes in and looks for a vein. Eventually she says she can't do it and the other girl isn't there to try. Not like I took off work or anything to drive over there. Finally she says she'll try but no promises. I felt bad, but I also really didn't want to have to come back. Poor A just screamed while the nurse poked around for a vein. Nothing. Ugh. I'm just frustrated that we go in for a specific reason and they can't even do what they need to do. After some back and forth I remembered H has a late shift Fri so he's going to bring her in then. Takes a few days for the test, then if it's positive they'll refer us to an allergist. Hopefully Fri they can get what they need!
((estrellita)) I would do a reward system as well. I find it odd that they would make an appointment with a child and not have someone onsite that can do hard IV starts. Frustrating
Dd is starting to hit a lot now and I have no idea on how to get her to stop. She thinks it is funny to hit. 😞 anyone have any ideas? (She’s 19 months)
Dh and dd are in our home town for 13 days. (I was there day 2-5, and will be back 10-13.) It’s been just over 24hrs and I miss them. They are having a great time though, and dh is sending me lots of pics.
luv2rn4fun I’m hoping 4 is better, but we’re halfway there and not seeing the light at the end of the tunnel yet. He can be SO sweet, but man there are days I just have to walk away.
awick14 That age with hitting is hard because of them thinking it's funny! That's about the age daycare really started focusing on "gentle hands" and we did something similar. Every time he'd hit we'd tell him no, please use gentle hands. Then we'd make sure to demonstrate. A lot of times we'd end up putting him down after he hit us. It did help but obviously he still occasionally hits when he's mad so he gets breaks or things taken away now.
awick14, E started hitting around that age too. Still does (fortunately not at school, just Dh and me). At her age, you mostly just redirect. Gentle hands and all that. Once E turned 2, we started adding in timeouts for hitting and reminders that it's not nice to hit, etc.
We do gents hands when dealing with the dog, I don’t know why I didn’t think to do it with us. Lol. I will try that thanx. We have currently been redirecting and showing her that she can touch us softly without hitting.
Since dd isn’t home right now I’ve decided to go through all her toys and clean them, then pack up some of it so there isn’t as much out in the living room. How does she have so much toys?
krystee, My RE was like, "Lightening won't strike twice on first IUI again like last time. You'll probably have to do 3 rounds this time, maybe even IVF since you have coverage." Yeah, lightening struck. We totally had no hope after the dr said that and had prepared ourselves to wait a few more months for the next round of IUI so we could try for a summer due date so I wouldn't need as long of a leave.
First ultrasound is in two hours and I'm starting to get anxious.
tacocat- I actually feel like it has gotten worse now that he’s 3.5. I read that it’s normal (half years are the age of chaos and then things are better at 2, 3, 4, etc). Not sure if it’s that or him being off of preschool. School starts in 4 weeks and although he only goes 2:45 and only 2 days a week, it sure does help his attitude!
awick14- ditto suzv. L is now 22 months and has his stages of hitting. I just enforce gentle hands and redirect/put down if holding him. The most frustrating is that C sees L doing it and not getting time outs and then thinks he needs to do it too to test his boundaries 🙁
I scheduled and early elective gender scan for SUNDAY!!!! I am so excited but my H is afraid it will be wrong. I asked when I scheduled and they said they are rarely wrong and that this center is one OB's refer to if they have a hard time determining gender and Mom wants to know.
I can't even keep track of everyone's pregnancies right now, lol. I love it!
E had another poop accident at daycare. Then at home he peed a little in his underwear on the way in to the bathroom because he was taking too long. Uuggghhhh. I think we've decided we're going to do a reward system. I'm not sure on the exact details but we'll give him a sticker or point or something when he doesn't have an accident, plus things like getting up the first time we ask, getting dressed without complaining, etc. I'm thinking we will do a daily reward of a TV show or treat, and after X amount of stickers/points he can pick out a toy or do something special. Anyone have any examples of a reward system you do? I'll probably browse pinterest too!

We did one for my son probably when he was around E's age. We got a bunch of cheap things from the dollar store and put them in a bin that DS could pick from when he reached a certain number of stickers for each thing. For the things that were hard we started with a prize each time he did it then moved to a prize for each 5 stickers.
His favorite things were coloring things, play dough, small candies, lip gloss, and matchbox cars.
We still pull it out when we have behavioral issues.

On a good ultrasound machine, I could see clear as day that DS2 was a boy when I was 10.5 weeks. It was supposed to be a viability ultrasound and ended up being a gender reveal. I'm sure they use great equipment and you'll have no issues! Do you have a feeling one way or the other?

Ooh this gives me hope that maybe I can tell sex at my scheduled ultrasound at 10w4d. It's my RE's machine, so very good.
We're getting the blood test though, so we'll find out in first tri regardless.

I “knew” DS2 was a boy by 8 weeks because of the symptoms being identical to DS1. Not sure when I had my NT scan but I could tell at that ultrasound, although they did say (nurse and doctor) that both boy and girl parts look similar at that gestational age....but to me it clearly looked like a penis- I was not a bit surprised when they confirmed at my anatomy scan.
awick14- we are thinking of doing a 2 night camping trip. Any advice? First time with the boys! Also, any good ideas that are easy to make, maybe not so hard to clean up, and toddler friendly? Was thinking breakfast burritos or eggs/pancakes for breakfast, sandwiches for lunch, hot dogs/hamburgers for dinner. And of course, LOTS of s’mores!! And alcohol LOL
They couldn't find A's veins AGAIN this morning. They apparently looked all over and her veins are too deep everywhere, not just in her arm. They said they could go in blind again but H said no. So we can either try at the hospital or go back again and again.. ugh. I just want answers. You'd think there'd be a better way to do an allergy test for a baby

This might be a stupid question, but can they not do a skin test on a baby? That seems like it would be so much easier than a blood draw!
