1. We had like 10 dogs when I was in school. We lived on a high traffic country road so a few got hit by cars, 1 ran away, 1 had to be given away. 1 bit a neighbor. A few cats in there. 2. We have a dog that DH and I got 8 years ago the summer my dad died and he moved in with me. We say he is our first born that we made parenting mistakes with. He sleeps in our bed, he has no manners, he has never slept through the night because I've always let him eat and drink freely so he has to pee or poop at 3am. Other than him, we added a bunny to the family about a month ago. He is pretty fun and he is ds's bunny. 3. We are trying to get to a place where we can add some goats and miniature cows to our life. DH would love another dog but I have enough living things in our house to take care of at the moment.

justcheckingin73, when I was in law school I found a cat with a collar and a rabies tag (with his vet's number) in my apartment complex. I called the vet who connected me with the owner, and it turned out that the owner of the cat once lived in that complex, but had moved to another apartment downtown, 12 miles away. Crazy! I was able to reunite them and the owner was so very excited. It was super sweet.

Also funny story - a coworker of mine had 2 large blue heelers who ran away together one day. It had been a year so she got 2 other dogs.
About 6 months in to owning the new dogs she somehow was reconnected with her old dogs who had been adopted by a well-meaning family quite a distance away. The family was apparently willing/wanting to release the dogs back to the old owners/my coworker.
And that is the story of why my coworker has 4 large dogs in a smallish sized house.

I am here for the animal convo!
1. We had three dogs during my childhood — a collie and two small terrier mixes. One of the terriers lived for 18 years. We got him when I was in the fourth grade and my oldest daughter was a few years old when he passed.
2. We have a very old cat and a middle-aged corgi.
3. My daughter wants a hermit crab, but I think we are going to settle for some fish. We would love another dog or cat (what’s one more when you have this much fur?) but I don’t think our older animals would appreciate if.
1. We always had dogs and cats growing up. Ginger was a Pomeranian my mom had when I was born. As a child, I would put her in doll clothes and carry her around. Josie was a mutt that we got when I was in elementary school. She was a sweet heart hat loved to follow us when we were sledding down a hill or biking on the dirt road. O’Rourke was a cocker spaniel that we adopted just prior to high school. He was considered “my dog.” He was a great companion and a gorgeous red. He passed when I was away at college.
2. I had three cats when I met my husband. They have all passed in the last five years. They were all amazing and we all loved them very much. Since then, we now have another set of three. Not going to lie, this new set is not like my first babies. They are currently driving me crazy pooping every where they shouldn’t in our new house, active trying to fling litter out of their boxes in the middle of the night, harassing the contractors during the day and knocking over and destroying my best plants.
