1) There are layoffs happening at P's company today. And of course I have two meetings scheduled onsite so I can't be near a phone or computer. The anticipation is killing me, which is silly as I have a good job and we've already done the math. We can afford our current lifestyle with my salary and his unemployment. Blarg.
2) The laptop I bought less than 6 months ago wasn't working great in the photo editing program I have so I called in to the support team. The guy remoted in to my laptop and fixed it but then asked to see some pictures I've taken. Holy awkward.

1. My CEO is talking today about moving the whole company to a 9/80 schedule. I've been doing a 9/80 for a while, and I like it, so I'm all in favor for it!
2. TMI, but I've had more gastrointestinal distress since being home than I ever did in Vietnam (and I ate plenty of raw fruits and veggies and didn't worry about ice in my drinks there). I think I was born on the wrong continent.

udscoobychick, thanks. I think he's got a good chance as there is a guy in his group so close to retirement that he said he would offer himself if someone had to be let go. And, given P is the newest guy in the group by like 10 years, he is the lowest paid which would hopefully work in his favor!
What's a 9/80 schedule? Working 80 hours in 9 days?
2. I finally changed the locks on the house last night...15 months after we moved in. LOL. I guess all those people who had keys from the last owner are now out of luck, if they've been waiting for their chance to break in.
LOLOL. I'd say they had PLENTY of opportunity to break in. And thanks
Previous owner had a Viper. I clearly park my 2 year old F150 in the driveway. People probably (wisely ) assume there is less to steal in here now.
Although I really only changed the locks because the deadbolt on the front door was starting to stick, and I figured if I was changing one, I might as well change them all. Lazy approach to security for the win!
ETA: But now I have to repaint the front door, because the previous handle had been painted in place (WTF, old owner). So one task done, one more to add to the list.

bullygirl979, yup, 9/80 is working 9 hours M-R of week one, 8 hrs on F of week one, 9 hours M-R of week 2, and having that second Friday off. Having every other Friday off is really nice for weekend trips and for running errands!
I used to do the 9 hour days/1 day off arrangement udscoobychick, and I loved it! It is so much easier to make appointments when you can plan around your available weekday.
1. I have pretty amazing friends who have really rallied around me this week when I was drowning. I hope I'm half the friend they've all been to me!
2. I'm half convinced bf said "I love you" last night but it was in a weird, quiet goodbye thing followed by "have a good night" all strung together, so I'm all "did he or didn't he?" Or like "was that just a brainless thing like he says to his kids or whatever?"

So, P's been texting me all morning. They've let entire BUILDINGS go. And entire teams. And, of course, his boss scheduled a team meeting at 11am. UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

OMG....how freaking awful. Poor P! Crossing my fingers he's okay!
Mmmm....I don't know...like I'm fairly confident it's coming but I also think he's trying to keep things chill until the divorce is official, if that makes sense. I really like him and it's sooo easy to be around him. I'm not like stupid googoogaga but it's like that slow burn sort of thing.

1. My grandma fell backwards off a bench at the ice cream place I took her to last night because for some reason she stayed scooting backwards. Luckily she doesn't seem to be hurt and didn't hit her head.
2. Being in NYC yesterday was great. I got myself everywhere I wanted to go, had a good time, and really enjoyed being in the city. I miss it! One of these days I might have to stay in the city when I visit for at least part of the time.

Slow burn is good
It is! I think I need to navigate a few more things before I'm there, though.
