This week has been a slow reading week , since I was in Paris!! <3
This week I read: You Bring the Distant Near - 3.5 stars. Beautiful multigenerational and multicultural story of the DAs family. This follows generations of a Bengali family and all the changes , problems and successes they inherit along the way. Great look into Indian culture. I am intrigued to learn more! Great YA book that I will recommend to my students as well!
Currently reading:
Can You Keep a Secret by Sophia Kinsella
I Found You by Lisa Jewell
The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society
Force of Nature by Jane Harper - * Doubt I will renew this as I have not been into it and my audio book is soon expiring
** I Had great intentions of reading while in Paris in the evening, and on the plane, but neither happened LOL
QOTD: So as I mentioned 500 times above, my amazing week was spent in Paris. gosh, I dont know there were SO many wonderful things 1. Spent it with my mom (it was her dream trip) 2. Giverny, monets gardens, house, water lillies, need i say more? 3. Palace of Versaille, unbelievable beauty 4. Eiffel tower 5. Louvre 6. the people 7. SHAKESPEARE AND COMPANY!
DNF- She Was the Quiet One. I gave it a good shot, but it did not hold my interest. This author really likes writing about shallow rich girls apparently.
His Banana- Actually really good. It kept showing in my feed and I’m trying to use as much as of my KU from prime day. Definitely recommend if you have KU and need a quick light romance.
Fool Me Once- I’ve re-discovered Catherine Bybee and just enjoy her books. Good characters and enjoy a more mid-30s storyline.
QOTW- we had kindergarten round up. My baby starts after labor day. She is so excited for kinder.
I finished Levels of Life by Julian Barnes. It was really therapeutic. I’m thinking of giving it to my mom since she lost my dad, her spouse of 52 years, and the book deals with grief in a think-y way. So refreshing after hearing so many platitudes.
DH stole my New Localism book, so I’m reading Warlight by Michael Ondaatje next.
ETA: The best thing about this week was that H offered to hire a maid so that I could work on my writing more. He is so amazingly supportive.
