A woman I know at work used to belong to a kickball team. That sounds so fun. Alternatively, I wish I could join an old timer sewing circle, but with people my age.

I used to be on a women's softball team. There hasn't been a league the last couple of years because they can't get enough players for teams. I need to find a co-ed team.

Pre-kids, my husband and I were on a kickball team. One league played on weeknights. So it was basically HH, but with cleats and sweat. It made for some rough work mornings.
I guess CrossFit is my extra-curricular activity. It's my multi-hyphenate. It serves as me-time, exercise-time, a social activity, and on the weekends, it's quality time with my girls.
I still play some volleyball on Friday nights in the winter. I used to do softball, but it has been a while since I played and it would probably kill me. Last time I played a few years ago, I had to just fall back onto the toilet for a week.
I would like to be involved in some kind of women's group. Like a Jr. League, but a little more low key and laid back. Get together, eat, talk, plan some charity/volunteer events. I don't have time with the kids, but maybe later in life.
I am not in any at the moment. I did take a yoga class for a while, but realized it was way too late at night (I had to make it late so DH could watch the kids). I was just far too sore in my back by then.
And then I took a water exercise class but it was Sat mornings at 8 am. And sometimes we were out of town, once DH forgot and was still doing his work out, so it is hard when I miss 3-4 sessions out of an 8 week class. I did really like the exercise and the old ladies though.
I drink with friends. I’ve given up organized activities and am really enjoying it. I feel like I have so much more time at home, but really, I have MORE social time so it’s some kind of positive illusion.
I do want to play in the local pay to play soccer league, but I have to start running again before I try that!
I do Orangetheory and really like it. I like to snowboard but only usually get to do that once a winter now - maybe more when the kids are older. I’m a member of a book club that meets monthly. We’re going wine tasting in Mexico in a couple weeks and to a Korean Spa to get scrubs in October - so we do other stuff too.
I would love to learn to swim for exercise, but I’m funny about my hair (usually blow dry it or get a blowout only one every 5 days or so and don’t do anything with it in between), so that’s what’s holding me back.
I also want to look into tennis lessons with DD. She has expressed interest, and I played as a kid, so I think it would be something fun to do together that also would get us exercise.

Woof, I did an indoor soccer league for 2 sessions right around the time I turned 30. By half time of every single game, my lungs were laying in the middle of the turf, on fire.

My Triathlon Club is my extra curricular. It's time consuming enough that I don't have time for any other extra curriculars for sure.
Swim - Mondays and Fridays (Friday is supposed to be a "recovery swim" so it's my "active rest day") Bike - Saturdays, sometimes indoor Thursdays Run - Tuesdays, sometimes indoor on Thursdays, Sundays long run Strength - Wednesdays
I do it all super early but it has been taking up a large chunk of my Saturdays lately.

I want to take up kayaking this fall/winter. I’ve been a couple times and love it so I’m going to try and get out there more often. I’d like to take DD1 sometimes and maybe H but also go out alone, just me in the quiet .
Right now, I’m not doing anything. I was attending barre 3 times a week for about a year but, man, so expensive. I may have to go back though because since I’ve quit (I’ll just work out at home!) I’ve gained 5lbs.

I’d love to get tennis lessons or find someone to play with. A league sounds overwhelming and anxiety inducing right now but I’d be open to it after some lessons.
I would love to do karate again. I did it in my mid 20s and got my black belt and I really miss it. It has been hard to find the right dojo that has a variety of workout times.
The one dojo around me has a parent and child class for young kids. I'm thinking I might be able to talk DS1 in doing it with me this winter.
mommyatty, Look for a Modern Quilt Guild chapter! We have one near us, and it's younger sewers. But I still have yet to pull off actually going and joining. It looks fun though.
As for me right now, I sew when I have time. So I haven't sewn since June when I took a class. I also love yoga and was getting back into it, but the summer from hell hit and I haven't been in months. I will get back in the groove this month when our schedule settles down. For me, yoga is a mental thing even more than a physical thing.

I would love to sail. It’s not going to happen but I’d love it. I love being on the water and the salt and air and waves. Total pipe dream as I don’t even have time to do anything now.

I did tennis lessons a long time ago but haven’t played in years! I am kind of like anything we can all do as a family (get the kids lessons) or anything that gets me out of the house without the whole gang.

Also +1 to sailing. I have no clue how to and the lessons here are like $800 for the day. But we have a tiny sailboat at the lake house that my mom would likely just give me since no one uses it if I had a place to store it and knew how.
I have a book club that meets about every 6 weeks. I hang out with a few of the women socially too. I would like to do a quilt guild or take more art classes through the City’s rec program. Maybe some gardening stuff. Some day.
I'm kind of upset with my gym right now. There used to be two classes every weeknight, so I could find something pretty easily based on my schedule. Now they are down to one class on Tues and Thurs. I like going to the classes because I can't be trusted to work out on my own. Plus there was a core group of us that would motivate each other.
So I have to decide if I want to stay at this gym or find another.

Crossfit is my extra curricular. It's been a very positive change for our family. DH and I both are feeling better than we ever have and the kids are starting to enjoy coming to the gym with us.
I wish I had time for the sorority in town. I went to 3 meetings, love what they do, and would love to be involved. I just can't at this point in my life.

Currently all I do is run, work, parent, and try to coordinate schedules for "adult time."
What I want to do is: run, (lots) more adult time, indoor soccer, voice lessons, write a book, join a group that plays games/cards. When my kids are older, it would be cool to do some kind of regular mommy and me activity with them (i.e., painting, coaching a sport, running, whatever they are interested in).
In my dream world, I would have a group of girls who would meet up in some random outdoor location every Saturday or Sunday for self-guided yoga and then brunch/drinks afterwards. "Freerange yoga." I don't love yoga, but I love the experience. Oh - and a crazy amount of adult time.
