We played tourist on Saturday. We went to Faneuil Hall, then Copley and Pru, and then the public garden to ride the swan boats, and finally to Gloucester to see the boat light parade. We counted 16 moving vans over the course of the weekend.

Sounds fun, liveintheville! I never know if it's going to be crazy crowded on Labor day weekend in the city, or fine if you avoid the apartment areas. That's one good (?) thing about the suburbs - not a UHaul in sight.
We went to Salem Willows on Friday; it was beautiful out, and we had lunch at the Clam Shack and ice cream, and then Ben rode on all the little kid rides and had a blast. Sunday night we went to the Pearl Jam show at Fenway, which was so fun but soooo hot. (Better than tonight will be, though, I bet.)

We went to Salem Willows on Sunday! I had never been before; it was like being transported back to the 80s lol. DS isn't the bravest toddler, so we didn't do any of the rides, but he had fun with some of the games at the arcade and also got ice cream. We actually got an AirBnB downtown and hit up Notch as well, which was fun.
The rest of the weekend was mostly spend outside keeping cool and splash pads and such. I also saw a zillion moving trucks on Saturday.
Pearl Jam! Jelly! I told H that one year we're going to call it the Concert Year and hit as many as possible.
This was a jam-packed weekend. Friday H had off, and after I finished work he and I went to Legacy Place for the evening. We shopped, we dined, we walked. All good. Saturday we went to King Richards Faire. S loved it, as usual. Truly the best time to go. First day, great weather, everyone was at the Cape, LOL. Hardly any lines, we felt like we had the place to ourselves. Sunday we went to Lexington and Concord. Rode the trolley to learn about the history, then headed over to the Alcott House and Author's Row at the Concord Cemetery. Yesterday was the lazy day. DH fired up the grill, and after lunch we went over our map of Ireland for our trip with MIL next year.
Oh yes, she's been here since the 25th of August and leaves Thursday. I am SO done. Apparently so it she. With all the walking around over the weekend, her knee gave out. So the woman who is supposed to take our daughter places is sitting at my kitchen table. S decided they will play a game of Monopoly. That should take up a good chunk of time.

It is seriously a time warp! A friend of mine who grew up on the North Shore told me about it, and - unsurprisingly! - the rides are the exact same ones she went on as a kid. We were thinking about driving up to Hampton, but this was a)closer, and b)much more contained for our maniac preschooler, haha.
And the show was so good - I've seen them a few times before (my husband many more), but this was one of the better setlists I've seen. We'd been spoiled, though, because we sat in the EMC box for the Foo Fighters earlier this summer, and so we were all whiny about wanting good beer and a private bathroom, haha.
Bummer about your chairs RockNVoll! Can you exchange them, or are you stuck?
The chairs just arrived and I f'ed up. Apparently the ivory color I picked is the one option that comes only in leather and not fabric. They didn't have it in store so I ordered online and didn't bother reading to notice it wasn't upholstered. Gah!
RockNVoll what a PITA. Online furniture shopping is the worst. I took a wild guess on the color of our sofa and luckily it worked. But I was nervous.
The real problem is that I'm so damn picky. I don't know how people buy furniture online. I need to sit on couches and chairs to see if they're comfortable. I took a chance with the PB dining room chairs because they were such a good price and were a basic parson's chair so I thought I was pretty safe. They were so uncomfortable when they arrived though and felt like they had no padding on the backrest.
This place is going to be an unfurnished disaster for years, LOL.
