i haven't gone to any of them yet. our 10 year was a "multi-class reunion" with 3 or 4 different classes all at one party. at our school. for like $75pp. yeah, no thanks. i'd rather go out to dinner with people i actually know and spend that per head.
i'd much rather go to the all-guys school class reunions. i like those people better anyway.

Yeah, I even flew across the country for my 10th! It was good, and we had a good turn out. My school does it so that all the classes are there at the same time. They have a mass, then a reception with food, wine and beer. My year they had the classes of 2005, 2000, 1995, 1990, 1985, 1980, 1975, 1970, etc. (My BFF's mom graduated in 1970, so I guess they can go to the reunion together.)
Afterward, a classmate who owns a restaurant invited the members of my class to have an after party.
I hadn't been back to Buffalo in like 6 years before I went, so I had a great time. And I got to show my husband around. Then we went and visited my parents for a few days.
My husband had his reunion this year. Last year was his neighbor's HS reunion and she had hers on Thanksgiving weekend, so we were planning on that (we visit his parents for T-day). Well, randomly, they scheduled his reunion for July, so we didn't go. I like my school's system better. It's always the 3rd weekend of May and it's FREE.
BUT I will say that I knew most people's life updates from FB.

I plan on going to my 10th. H's is next year and he said he plans on going.
I really hope they do our reunion around homecoming or graduation because my baby cousin will be graduating the same year and it would be fun to be there for that too.
You couldn't pay me enough to go to any of my HS reunions. I'm still in touch with a couple people from high school that I care about. The rest? I could give a flying rats ass about.
I was glad I went to my 10 yr, if for no other reason than to know what it's like to be around those people and feel confidant.
for me, it didn't work like that. I didn't fully revert to my high school level of dorky shyness, but it was pretty close. i think MH might have talked to more people than I did. (this was at my 5 year)
I just couldn't bring myself to strike up a conversation with people who pretended I didn't exist in high school. (unless they wanted to copy my homework or something anyway) I couldn't for the life of my shake the conviction that they'd give me a a ^o) and turn around to talk to somebody else. And then one of my friends tripped and spilled an entire beer down my shirt and I was pretty well done. "Hi! Remember me! I was shy and quiet except when I was sarcastic and abraisive and now I smell like stale coors and look like I'm lactating! Wanna chat!?"
I was traveling during our 10 year, but if anybody puts together something for a 15 or 20 I'd probably go just for shits and giggles. And to see if I've FINALLY actually outgrown that ish.

I went to my 10th and my 20th. I had more fun at the 10th, but they were both fun. The 10th was held at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and we had access to the whole museum, so that made it pretty cool.

I didn't go. I was living in Japan, and I wasn't going all the way back to Florida for that!
But, I also probably wouldn't have gone anyway. Most of my friends were smack in the middle of residency, all of them out of state as well. I swear, almost every single person became a doctor from my social group. And there I was, unemployed, overseas, contemplating a return to school for nursing. Yeah, it hurt my ego a little
I do have a couple friends from hs that I stay in some contact with and see on the rare occasion I visit home. One went to the reunion and reconnected with people, so that was good for her. And she passed along my contact info as well.
Who knows where I'll be for the 20th. Maybe I'll go, maybe I won't. My school has a whole alumni department, so they're super organized with planning. We even have quarterly updates sent out. Plus, my dad is an alum, so I grew up going to homecoming events with him. If I happen to be in town during homecoming, I'll stop by the alumni tent, but that's the extent of my participation.
I am actually the planner since I am on the Alumni Board of Directors and by default the class rep. I have planned the 10, 15, 20, 25 and yes even the 30th back in 2011. They have all had great turnout and been lots of fun. We do a whole weekend of activities - an informal get together on Friday night, a cocktail party on Sat.night usually followed by going out after and a family picnic on Sunday. Over half our class of about 160 live out of town but those that do love having an excuse to "come home" even if they no longer have family here. As you get older it doesn't matter who you were friends with back in high school. The common bond of being in the same class overtakes everything and you just have an enjoyable time with old friends whether you were friends back then or not. Most of now keep up with each other on facebook.

I skipped my 10-year and have no regrets. There are a few people from high school I would've liked to hang out with, but not enough to drive the 3 hrs and deal with a whole bunch of other people that I have no desire to see again.
