My 10 year old is still undecided, 6 yo will be Wonder Woman, and 2 year old is Doc McStuffins. No costumes for em or DH but I will wear some fun Halloween leggings, lol!
I will be a helper in my 1st graders class party that day. And then we have friends and neighbors come over for dinner. Nothing fancy, just chili and corn bread, various desserts. The dads take the big kids trick or treating, the moms usually stay behind with the little ones and pass out candy, play games, etc.
Working until 2 then run and buy some candy then pick up kids. Usually we go with the neighbors, but haven't heard from them. Last year we heard from them or DH texted them about 2 hours before. I am sure they arranged with their other friends as well, but oh well the more the merrier. Last year we kept having people we know join the group and then wander off and then more join and more wander off. As long as the weather is nice it's not too terrible now that the kids are older.
When the kids were young in never failed that DH had to travel, and I attempted to make dinner. Even with my light off people still rang the doorbell, so I gave up on making dinner anymore. Chili is a good idea since it is make ahead, but I don't have time to make it ahead so pizza it is.
DD is supposed to have practice and we had planned a quick round of ToTing afterwards. DD is supposed to be this fancy witch but see my Monday random of the costume not fitting issues. DH didn't want to deal with handing out candy so we are skipping that this year. The weather is supposed to be 100% chance of rain.
DD1 is going as Harry Potter. DD2 is going as Dash from Incredibles. It’s fitting, as she has 2 speeds - sleeping and running.
The kids aren’t allowed to wear costumes to their new school, but they are having a black and orange dress down day. We will come home, have DD1’s piano lesson, then an early dinner before DH takes them ToTing. DH will meet up with another dad on the street and they will drink Bud Lights while walking. I will stay home and hand out candy. Maybe they will all come over for pizza after, but my kids have school early the next day and theirs don’t... so, not sure...
Ours is moved to tomorrow due to weather. Dd ditched the mime costume from camping because Dh bought her the big hoodie pajamas this weekend, so she is now a minion. We are going to trunk or treat then around the neighborhood. I may walk with her or man our trunk with Dh abd Ds depending on if she hooks up with friends.
We are then coming home with pizza and watching a scary movie.
I am thinking about having another scary movie on Halloween with a little taco bar for them to make their own.

I'm off from work. DS wanted to be a platypus this year but we couldn't find a costume so he settled on penguin. Because we live in a rural area, we'll drive to a neighborhood to TOT. We don't get any TOTers at our house.

I just got back into town today and I Feel so behind!
We have a friend coming to trick or treat with us. I'm glad I invited them but I hate hosting people because I feel like our house and stuff isn't good enough (I think I've said that a million times on here) but the people are so sweet that I just did it anyway.
I'm paying my sister to organize the play room. I'm not sure she really has time to do it but any improvement will be good.

DS is a policeman (kind of like a swat team). DD is either going to be a bee or a pink dinosaur. They both look adorable and I'm really looking forward to it.
We’re The Incredibles. Our oldest is a girl and then two boys, including a crazy active baby like Jack-Jack, so it worked. The kids wore their costumes Saturday. We’ll all dress up for a party at the baby’s in-home daycare tomorrow, and then again for trick or treating Wednesday. I’m also taking the kids to trick or treat at my office Wednesday afternoon.
My kids came up with their own random costumes. DD1 is a leopard, mainly so she can wear a dress she's obsessed with right now. Super easy! DD2 is mashing together a bunch of random stuff from the dress up box with a weird masquerade mask that FIL bought her. Whatever works, kid. It makes her happy!
I still haven't figured out exact logistics for tomorrow night. I pick the kids up from MIL around 4:45 usually, trick or treat starts at 6, again, back at MIL's. (They live in a perfect neighborhood with a lot of school friends around) Not sure if we'll go back to my house for dinner, or just stay there and she'll feed us. I kind of need to figure that out today...

DD is going to be a dragon. She attended a Halloween party on Sunday and has her school Halloween party today/Tuesday. DS is going to be a ghost. I had to get him a poncho style ghost costume to be in compliance with daycare's rules. They had their costume parade last week. I am taking them trick or treating Wednesday night.
I'll be working from home tomorrow so I can attend DS1's preschool Halloween parade. He'll be Chase from Paw Patrol. DD has a Halloween party at school. She'll be a unicorn. DS2 is going to be a skunk. My parents, my brother and SIL, and nephew will come to our house for dinner and then we'll head out for ToT. It is supposed to rain all day tomorrow, but I'm hoping that it will stop in time for ToT.

I have tomorrow off, assuming I am quite productive today. DD2 has her preschool costume parade and trunk or treat. DD1 is going to school dressed as a dog in a cape (from a book) with a matching dog-in-cape pumpkin. That evening we are meeting my BFF and her daughter at my parents’ for trick or treating. It’s the first year we won’t be home and I feel a tad guilty not being here to hand out candy.
Meeting til 2 or 2:30, then will go home and get ready. Hoping it is not rainy or raining like the weather says. Would like to continue the “tradition” (last year being the first) of projecting a movie on the garage door and having a fire in the fire table while handing out candy. DD is going to be a werewolf which means I have to do face paint and she has a mask which she will take off after 45 seconds necessitating the paint.
I guess we are all also going to sleep in the same room all week for Halloween. We had a family movie night last night with the Conjuring 2, so the entire family slept in the master bedroom. I really should think about ordering one of those beds that are the size of 2 California Kings.

We have the school parade around 1:30 (I didn’t sign up for the party this year) and then school gets out at 3:30. DS is always raring to go out shortly after but many people aren’t home yet so I’m going to try to feed him first and hold him off as long as possible. We all go out for a couple of hours and then come back to eat dinner.
DD has a party at a friends house so it will be her first year not TOTing at least around our house. Not sure if she’s dressing up. DS is some kind of scary devil guy. I really don’t know. He has glowing eyes under a hood.
School just sprung “dress as your favorite story book character”. WTF a holes - I am glad you PTA people stay at home and can turn on a dime, but for the rest of us, you SUCK.
Neither kid is going as anyone that appears in a storybook. So I can’t use their costumes.
I think DD will be an old Disney princess costume but no clue about DS and hoping he doesn’t want to participate.

2chatter, could he be a doctor or vet? For a recent “what do you want to be when you grow up” last-minute school costume we cut a white tee in half, DD1 drew on some pockets and stuck a toy stethoscope around her neck. Voila vet.
2chatter, what is DS going as? Also, I’m not opposed to breaking the rules when the SAHMomzis pull crap like that. Supposed to wear a pink shirt? Red is close enough. Storybook character? If we can’t fake it, say he’s going to write a book about whatevs he’s dressed as. But eff it. My kid won’t be disadvantaged by having a WM. Even though DH stays home now, ain’t nobody got time for some if that crap.
DS is Scream....so... It’s funny because he of course has never seen the movie, so when people quote it to him (things like what’s your favorite scary movie or are you home alone) he has no idea.
Can someone please tell me why a being a witch for a 7 year girl isn't a cool costume? The dress looks similar to the witches in Hocus Pocus. The kids were talking at school and giving DD a hard time because she wasn't going as a cool superhero or Fortnight character. Also what is Fortnight? I switched the subject when DD asked as I didn't know.
DD is a glamorous witch. DS is Captain Hook. We’ve already worn the costumes to Boo at the Zoo and their school fall festival. They love their costumes, so yay! I had to tailor both of them.
Rant: the way costumes are fitted, they have a zero percent chance of fitting any kid. The pants that came with DS’s costume were made for a kid shaped like a globe. I had to put elastic in them so now they look like Mountie pants, with the big puffy sides. But! The jacket fits his skinny body like a glove. So any kid who fit the pants could not fit the jacket and vice versa. Wtf. Seriously.

Now try fitting a snow suit under it...
I'm thanking the heavens that the weather for tomorrow is like 40 degrees. All my Facebook memories from recent years mention snow.

No 2chatter that’s not how it works! You send your kid in their costume no matter what it is. Basically, there’s a book about every single Halloween costume out there. Send your kids in their costumes. (Except no masks or weapons for us)
This is just the schools way of allowing kids to dress up. They can’t call it Halloween.
DD is Owlette, DS2 is Catboy, I’m Lunagirl. DS1 is a Greek god, not to be confused with a Roman god, but he is not Achilles bc Achilles is neither a mortal nor a god...and he talked about demigods and nymphs but I stopped listening.
