2. As of this morning still exactly 0cm, ugh. Baby needs to get moving, I'm tired of being pregnant and really tired of working! I have a feeling we'll be in the hospital on Thanksgiving which I'm really not looking forward to. But he's healthy and that's number 1 priority so I know I shouldn't complain.
I was due 11/12 with DS and was also 0cm at my 39 week appointment. I also stressed being in the hospital for Thanksgiving, but I went into labor at 39+5 and had him 39+6. I hope something similar happens for you!
1. How far along are you this week? 20 weeks. Halfway done!
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? Poor DS’s room has been taken over with baby stuff! He’s been testing out all the baby gear in preparation for showing the baby how it all works. Soooo cute!
3. Questions for the group?
4. Do you start decorating for Christmas before or after Thanksgiving? We usually don’t decorate at all, other than our wall of Christmas cards, because we generally travel for Christmas. Staying in NYC this year because I’m terrified of another out of state ER visit. Poor DS doesn’t remember his first Christmas as a 7 month old in NYC, and is convinced there is more Christmas activities in rural WI than there is in NYC. 😂 May have to take him to Radio City this year! We’ll get a tree for our apartment this year. Contemplating an artificial one for the first time ever so I don’t have to deal with needle cleanup.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? I'm really disappointed that I have to wait until AFTER Thanksgiving, when I'm almost 14 weeks, for my NT scan and NIPT testing. I really wanted to be able to announce the pregnancy on Thanksgiving, and the sex on our holiday cards (which is still probably doable, but tight). I might have to tell people on Thanksgiving regardless, my belly is starting to pop already.
My MFM place tried to make me wait but I insisted on coming in separately at 10 weeks for the NIPT blood draw, so you could ask to do that if you want. I said that "the results of this test could influence how we continue on with this pregnancy so knowing earlier is important to me and my husband," which is true, but truthfully I mainly did not want to wait so long to find out the gender when I didn't have to. It's also nice because I don't have much anxiety around my NT scan tomorrow since I got results back and I know that my NIPT looked good. Doesn't mean something couldn't be wrong, but at least I don't have to worry about the NT scan AND the NIPT results. SaveSave
pandorica - We're starting birth classes next week. The hospital I'm delivering at recommended taking them around 7 months (the one we're doing is 4 weeks long).
H had some gender disappointment, because he really wanted a boy, too. He was quick to get over it, though. For him, it was more of an, "Oh well, a daughter will be just as awesome," kind of thing.
scm1011, good luck with getting in sooner. I can't imagine what benefit there would be to making you wait til 14w, and all they really need to do is write the order for it.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? Not much...working a ton. We find out the sex of the baby a week from today, so excited for that!
3. Questions for the group? Anyone have Blanqi tanks? I saw they have their 50% off sale right now and am thinking about ordering some, but am trying to figure out what size to get. Let me know if anyone knows how true to size they are!
4. Do you start decorating for Christmas before or after Thanksgiving? After Thanksgiving! We usually put up all our Christmas decorations and the tree on the first Sunday of Advent, which will be the 2nd this year.
3. Questions for the group? I know that there are a lot of lists out there about what you'll want/need postpartum, but I'm having trouble finding lists that include how much of each thing. So, what's on your postpartum list, and if you're a non-FTM what amount of each thing do you recommend? Example: Nursing bras - Okay, fine, I can do that... but how many?
I got two soft nursing bras before having DD1, a sleep one and then a Cake one like this - www.amazon.com/Cake-Lingerie-Maternity-Nursing-Seamless/dp/B00P2BSHKW/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1541446434&sr=8-9&keywords=cake+nursing+bra Those were nice to have because you're a little all over the place size wise when your milk comes in. I bought one nursing tank and actually did not really care for it, so I never got any more of those and I'm glad I hadn't stocked up before the baby was born. I would get some lounge clothes/pajamas that will be nursing accessible for the beginning. Otherwise I think I'd wait until you can see what you feel like you need and buy as you go.
3. Questions for the group? When did your morning sickness start? I just want to start feeling like sh*t ASAP. I know I will regret saying that but I need some type of sign that everything is okay.
First baby it didn't start until 8-9 weeks, and lasted until 16 weeks or so. Second baby it started right at 5 weeks and was absolutely awful until week 14.
Don't wish for it. It's so, so crappy to be throwing up nonstop.
I do understand being super nervous about losses (I had an awful loss last year). Talk to your doctor about it - my doctor was really open to whatever I needed to feel more secure and less anxious in the beginning of this pregnancy. We talked about early scans (I had had an ectopic before) and they even sent me for several blood draws to monitor the HCG at the beginning.
scm1011, good luck with getting in sooner. I can't imagine what benefit there would be to making you wait til 14w, and all they really need to do is write the order for it.
I put a request in through my patient portal, so fingers crossed!
Just called my OB's office and got the result of my HbA1C from last week. 5.1. Even better than my last one in July. I'm feeling even less motivated about this GTT on Thursday, but at least my numbers look good and nowhere remotely concerning re: early GD diagnosis.
1. How far along are you this week? 9 Weeks, 1 day. 2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? Ultrasound this morning, baby is measuring perfectly at 9 weeks 1 day, perfect HB, was moving all around. Crazy! Everything was perfect. Starting to feel like this might actually happen.
3. Questions for the group? None yet! 4. Do you start decorating for Christmas before or after Thanksgiving? I will decorate the weekend before Thanksgiving this year. I LOVE having the house all decorated!

1. 8w+6d
2. Just trying to get used to the SCH and all the spotting/bleeding. I just got a call from a nurse at my OB and they're scheduling another ultrasound for 12 weeks to check on the SCH, so looks like we'll be getting lots of time to see him/her if everything goes well.
4. We probably won't decorate this year because I'm way too lazy to find decorations in our storage uint. We moved a month before our loss this Spring. We're in a tiny rental that's supposed to be temporary and 75% of our stuff is still in boxes in a storage unit. I don't want to live in this state anymore (we only moved here because I was pregnant and we were living 300 miles from the nearest doctor/hospital), so we've kept everything packed up so we can move as soon as we figure things out.

Good thinking, I'll try that!
scm1011, I hope they can get you in sooner! At my OB's office, they told me I could come in at any time after 10 weeks for the NIPT blood draw -- no appointment even necessary.
My OB suggests waiting until 11 weeks because she gets frequently gets the tests returned as inconclusive at 10 weeks. Is this a thing? I thought I got my other 2 done at 10 weeks but could easily have forgotten !
Got my glucose screening results back! No GD! Maybe now my ob will finally relax on commenting on how big my babies are. (DS was 9 lbs 5 oz at birth, also no GD, and current pregnancy is also measuring big. But I’m one of the shorter members of my family at 5’9 sooo....)

A friend of mine had hers come back inconclusive, but I don't know exactly what week she had it done. She had it repeated and she said it came back fine the 2nd time.
MaterniT21 says 9+ weeks. I made an app't for Thurs for 10+1 because I have about as much patience as my almost 3 yo DD for this stuff. I guess we'll see if it comes back ok!

1. How far along are you this week? 19 weeks today
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? Gestational diabetes sucks. I feel like I'm constantly eating or testing my blood- I'm sure I eat more carbs now than I did before the diagnosis. I am are supposed to eat x amount of carbs every 2-3 hours. Well, sometimes I'm not hungry when I'm supposed to eat. And then there are times that I'm freaking STARVING and I've already eaten, and it's not anywhere close to time to eat again. My sugars have not been consistent, I'm still high sometimes. So, I don't know if I'm eating too many carbs, or if I just haven't figured out what my body can tolerate? Uggh, I hate this!
3. Questions for the group? None right now
4. Do you start decorating for Christmas before or after Thanksgiving? After, although I'm dying to decorate, since it is our first year in our new house. I also would like for DH to hang Christmas lights outside before it gets too cold.
pandorica, My H was initially disappointed I think, but he only has a brother, no close girl cousins, etc. But our DD is now 19 months, and he can't imagine it any other way. She's totally a daddy's girl. I'm now scared expecting twin boys, because I feel like I have no idea what to expect with boys.
1. How far along are you this week? 19+2 with twin boys
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? Halfway through this pregnancy!! Can't believe I'll meet them in just under 19 weeks!!
3. Questions for the group? name suggestions for twin boys? DD has the same name as a Russian princess who has her own animated film.
4. Do you start decorating for Christmas before or after Thanksgiving? depends on our travel plans. May decorate, but it'll depend on how I'm feeling this year after traveling for Thanksgiving.

My OB made me wait til 10.5 weeks for the Harmony test with DD. Said same thing about inconclusive tests before then, even though the test company claimed at 10 weeks exactly. My friend just had it done this year at exactly 10 weeks and had two separate tests come back inconclusive with not enough fetal dna in the sample. This time my dr had me wait til 11+0 with twins for Panorama, and no issues whatsoever.
katespade, my H actually uttered "but girls don't play video games" when we found out. Guess who is a total daddy's girl who dances to his video game music and plays with the controller with no batteries?

1. How far along are you this week?
10 weeks today
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week?
In the last two days have experience nausea in the mornings. Isn't it a little late for that? Ha. My pregnancy app said in week 8 that if I hadn't started having morning sickness by then I probably wouldn't. I thought I was out of the woods! Also, my memory has been awful lately.
3. Questions for the group?
Not yet. I feel like I did a ton of research a few years ago when we were actively trying and knew so much information back then and now I feel kind of... lost? I don't know, and I don't know what I need to know. I guess I would take any good book recommendations on pregnancy/after giving birth that I should check out?
4. Do you start decorating for Christmas before or after Thanksgiving?
Generally we wait until it is at least December, but it is a Thanksgiving day tradition to watch Elf
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week?
3. Questions for the group?
4. Do you start decorating for Christmas before or after Thanksgiving?
19 weeks, 3 days
I passed my glucose test I took on Friday! My number was 95 and the cutoff is 135. I failed with my first so I’m happy. I will go again at 28 weeks. Also, we have a name and are starting to get his room ready.
Question: when do/did/will you register if you are having a shower? A few friends have approached me about having a shower in January. I’m afraid with all of the holiday madness I will totally forget.
I decorate after Thanksgiving. Respect the turkey!
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? At my last appointment my OB said that the baby was large, and if the baby kept up this rate of growth that we'd have to start talking about a cesarean at 37 weeks. I just want little man to stay put and healthy.
3. Questions for the group?
In the last week I've fallen asleep so early that I missed my kick counts 3 times. He seems to be moving fine (at least 7-10 movements) when I sit still for a while. Should I be worried?
How does third tri feel? I feel noticeably slower, I cannot seem to sleep enough, and my hips are killing me.
4. Do you start decorating for Christmas before or after Thanksgiving? We don't celebrate either.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? I can't believe I'm officially halfway! Still feeling pretty good, although heartburn is making a comeback. Still trying to wrap our heads around having a little girl when everyone was so sure it was a boy, but I'm so excited It might be a while before this baby has a name though
3. Questions for the group? At what point did you sign up for/start birth classes? Is there a preferred kind? This is something I haven't even thought about.
Did any of your SOs deal with gender disappointment? I know H really wanted a son, so he's a little bummed. I know he'll get over it (I think it's already dissipating) but I'm just curious about other peoples experiences.
4. Do you start decorating for Christmas before or after Thanksgiving? After! We love Thanksgiving and fall, so I don't start until the day after Thanksgiving at the earliest.
During the anatomy scan, H said, "but I wanted a girl!" 12 weeks later he is so excited for a boy.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? In the past week it has definitely become more obvious I have a small pregnant belly. It's strange to me how some movements (bending different ways) are not the same. I also think I might actually be feeling the baby move now. I thought I felt something once or twice a few weeks ago, but haven't noticed anything significant since. In the last day I've been feeling new things that might be the baby moving around!
3. Questions for the group?
4. Do you start decorating for Christmas before or after Thanksgiving? We always start after Thanksgiving. We are moving into a new house the weekend before Thanksgiving, so there will be a lot of unpacking and decorating happening the next few weeks.

That sounds fine. 10 kicks in 2 hours is the minimum.
