She went to her first regional dance competition. She had a blast. She didn't place (except for dance drama, but there were only 2 teams), but she learned a lot. And we got to see just how fearless she is--it takes guts to dance with 2 other girls on a stage in a giant ballroom! I also learned that I can put on a bun wig like a boss, LOL. Here she is ready for one of her competitions.
I love it! She is such a cutie. Do you get comments that she looks like you often? Because she oddly does, ha.
All.the.time
Funny story. The first day of competition, an older girl offered to do S's hair (thank you SP!). She says to me, "We all sat in a circle at practice and shared something no one knew about us. I didn't know S was adopted! She looks just like you!"
She used to be the spitting image of her birth mom. Less so now, but they still have the same hair, eyes, and chin.

Ha, I figured you must because I've thought so for years! Too funny.
More bragging! Sunday we went to a local competition. H and I did not have high hopes that S would place because
-She has only danced her one "new" dance at the regional competition -She hasn't danced her "basic" dances in competition since June -She was in a new skill level against more advanced kids
Then she fell at the end of her "new" dance. I was so proud, because she popped right back up, finished her dance, and walked off stage with a smile. Note, she wasn't the only one who fell, it was a day of slippery floors and crashing dancers.
She did her 3 basic dances and we figured she'd get a candy cane, see Santa, and head home. Nope, she got a 2nd place and a 4th place. We were blown away.
At this point she has yet to go to a local competition and NOT win something. We have a dancer on our hands!
