How much do you guys pay for your house cleaner? For reference, I love in the south, my house is 2600 square feet - 5 bedrooms and 3 baths but I only want 4 of the bedrooms cleaned. Hardwoods downstairs and carpet upstairs.
Ours charges $20/hour, and usually takes 5-6 hours on our ~1300 SF house. That's without bedrooms though. I was resistant to having someone come clean for so long but oh damn it has made my life so much easier! I will definitely be keeping this up while I'm on maternity leave.
icedcoffee, I'm sorry they're being assholes. I remember you talking about them before. Sounds like it is a good idea to cut them out.
And omg to being bigger the second time around. I couldn't fit into regular pants, even with the hair tie trick, by 10 weeks this time. Most of my maternity shirts that I wore to the end last time, no longer completely cover my belly. I'm forced to layer with long maternity tanks (thank goodness for Target and Blanqi) just to cover.
Yes to the being bigger! I'm not, based on pictures, but I sure feel it. And I feel pudgier too, which I think it probably the biggest cause. I felt super confident in my body the first time around and now, not so much.
At first I was sad when I realized I have no maternity clothes because the first time around I borrowed from 2 girls and literally just bought a handful of pieces, but it's going to end up not being a big deal because I don't think most of it would fit anyway.
Oddly enough my "fat pants" from being postpartum with DS1 still fit at 13 weeks and actually have gotten bigger on me since I got pregnant which is weiiiiird. I'm really hoping to not gain too much with this pregnancy since I only lost like 15 lbs after DS before I got pregnant again. I would love to gain no more than that 15 lbs, but we'll see. I'm trying harder to say no to baked goods than I did with DS1. Haha
Stuff just doesn't fit the same after your first pregnancy. I feel like Mr. Potato Head some days when getting dressed. They should offer liposuction or tummy tucks with c-sections.

What the actual fuck, icedcoffee. Why are they such assholes? I'm sorry you have to deal with that.
And yes, I'm the same weight as my last pregnancy and have gained the same amount (which was pretty much all just baby/pg related according to my OB) and yet, somehow, I AM HUGE. People just keep commenting and were acting like the baby would fall out when I was 6-7 months pregnant. With the gallbladder stuff, DS going through a sleep regression, and this, I am over it.
I need to find bedding, I’m going to flip the crib so the changing table part is away from the wall and the glider hasn’t arrived but I’m really happy to see it look like a nursery now
We pay $65 for her to come every 2 weeks. We live in a LCOL area. We have a 2400 sqft split level house, mostly vinyl plank and brick, with 3 bed (all carpeted), 3 bath, 2 living areas (one of which is carpeted). She will strip the beds and put on clean sheets, fold laundry if I ask, but otherwise does not do laundry. She will unload the dishwasher and refill and run the dishwasher. It usually takes her 3 hours and she usually has 1 helper.
That's on the low end for our area, but high end for a house our size wouldn't be more than $100.
The lowest quote I’ve gotten is $105 for biweekly. I feel like that’s high for what I am asking for, but maybe it’s because I’ve never had a cleaner before and I’m just not used to it.
I pay $125 in a HCOL, 4 bedrooms 2.5 baths, 2500sf get cleaned each time. I pay $25 more when she cleans my 1000sf finished basement + bathroom e/o month or so. I think $105 is a really good price. I got quotes as high as $190 every other week.
kellikans it is a dark grey. I haven’t decided if I’m keeping the walls white or painting them and/or painting the bed
hamster samples would be awesome, thank you! I should probably decide what color the bed will be and then the chair... but we have a black lab who is likely to sneak onto the chair so maybe dark grey is wise
melmaria the bed is for me or DH to sleep in when it is our night “on” with baby. My older 2 (20months apart) have shared a room since the youngest was 6 months old and it hasn’t been an issue.
namasteak, I just got the Piper delivered last week in the light gray and it is so pretty. I did not get the one with the ottoman, though. I also love the dark gray too so you can’t go wrong.
I’m going to put the glider where that white chair is, probably a 4 cube shelf where the stool is as a side table & the swing where the assembled boxes are since that side of the closet is storage
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? Just tired. DH and I are in disagreement about what car we need for three kids. Not pregnancy related but I'm also little annoyed (jealous) as he leaves Thursday for a CAT ski trip in Utah and won't be till next Tuesday. And I got two emails today - one for my younger son...pink eye rampant at school so check your kid and DS1's class has three confirmed cases of lice. He passed the nurses inspection today but after power outages all weekend do to massive rain storms I can not deal with either of my kids being sent home from school this week.
3. Questions for the group? none at the moment
4. Favorite and least favorite part of being pregnant? I'm just so happy to be pregnant symptoms and all because of losses. But I'm also so jealous of my first pregnancy (DS1)where I didn't have so many worries. I almost try and forget that I am pregnant because I'm terrified of a loss, especially because this is our absolute last go. If something happens we will be moving on from trying for more. The unknown of when the birth day will be also is hard for me - I want to know the exact time and day she's coming! My favorite with this pregnancy is how excited everyone is about it and we've had some rough stuff going on for both DH and my families the past few years and this is really a blessing that's putting some stuff in perspective.
gastro I got a Subaru Outback one month before I got pregnant. My three kids will pile into the backseat and hopefully no one gets hurt. One infant seat, radian, backless booster. I haven’t tried it with the infant seat so I’m crossing my fingers it fits. That’s on my list to do this month.

I'm at my NST and found out my son can't visit us at the hospital, at all. I know it's a common policy and it's flu season, but I'm legitimately about to cry.
I'll take hair pats and stories about how it will be okay, if you have them.
