We all went today. LOVED it. My girls were totally loving it.
How old are they and have they watched other Marvel movies? I want to bring my daughter, but I’m not sure if she’ll be able to follow it and she’ll ask a lot of questions during the movie if she can’t. I’ve seen it, but I know the universe so it’s hard to tell how confusing it would be for someone who doesn’t.
They are 8 and 14. They have seen most of them. The younger was kinda bored early on, but as soon as the Earth scenes started, she was hooked.
My H reported back that he and his friends really enjoyed it. He said he thinks I’d be into it too (I’m not a movie person, to date the only action movie to hold my interest from start to finish is Black Panther).

I saw it with my daughters (14, 12, and 4) on Friday. We loved it. I've written my review. A solid MCU origin story with a lot of heart and great twists. I really enjoyed the message and loved Carol's dynamic with Fury and the other supporting characters. I liked that it lacked the male gaze aspect that is so common in superhero (and a lot of) movies. I was sold on Brie Larson's portrayal of CM. I think she did a fantastic job and enjoyed the witty banter with Fury. Lovin' the snarky quips and take no shit attitude. I loved Ben Mendelsohn's character and the Skrulls. And Goose. <3 It was obvious the writer-director team was out of their depth when it came to some of the action sequences and the space-sci-fi heavy elements. Their indie background shows in some handling of the editing and direction, but I also think their indie background is what made the character-driven elements so grounded. They were tasked to weave a lot of different threads and there were a lot of moving parts to work with. Overall, they did a great job. I look forward to seeing CM's dynamic with the rest of the Avengers team and future installments.

We saw it yesterday. The beginning was a little slow, but Orgins movies usually are a little. Otherwise it was really good! I think I liked it more than wonder woman. My husbands and 3 sons liked it a lot too.

We just saw it. It was so good!! I can see why people say the beginning was slow, but we really enjoyed the whole thing. Now I need an orange cat and name it Goose.
One thing that bothered me was when she said “I could have swore” instead of “I could have sworn”.
Saw it today and I really liked it! The reverse aging on Fury and Coulson was amazing. Loved Goose. I can’t wait for Avengers Endgame! I was surprised we didn’t have a preview for it before the movie.

Just saw it. I liked it. I enjoyed the 90s nostalgia. Too much action for my preference, but at least I could follow it. I’m usually lost in super hero fight sequences. I liked WW better. But this was good. The best action sequence was the one CM wasn’t even really in (when Rambeau was flying).
Does anyone else think Brie Larson resembles Kristen Bell? Would have loved Bell in this role. Veronica Mars in space.
Saw it last night. LOVED it. I thought it was one of the most well-done and most fun of the origin stories, for sure. BL was really good, and it was fun to see a different side of Fury.
I want to watch it again so I can fully appreciate the twist. I was kind of hazy on it beforehand, although I remembered some general stuff from GoTG that made me wonder.
He says he’s not a cat person, but they loved him. Sounds like my dad with every cat we ever had (including my parents current cat, adopted after I was out of the house).
