My employee with pancreatic cancer passed away last night. He had been in the hospital more than a month, and he was told on Friday it was a matter of days, not weeks. But I’m still sad. He was a nice guy, and his daughter is getting her PhD on May 15. I know he would have liked to see that.
I’ve never had an employee die before. Retired employees, yes, but not an active one.
That is so sad, sorry to hear about your employee.

mommyatty - So sorry to hear about your employee. I've never experienced the death of a coworker, but we've had a couple employees die in terrible car accidents (one accident was only a few months ago, the employee was killed in the crash and her son died a few days later, and the husband is now alone, it was such a terrible situation).
186momx - I hope you get some rest (without sleeping) today and don't have anymore vomiting.
Just got a call back from the triage nurse. They must of talked to the doctor because I now need to go into the lab and have some bloodwork drawn. So far my day has been chill as I'm waiting for work and just browsing the internet.
2chatter my concussion was when we had the big auto accident a couple years ago but I was told that I can have relapse symptoms for years. I know one lady who was 10 years out and her son headbutted her at Christmas and she was down and out for a couple weeks.
186momx - that is awful. I had a few concussions in my teens and 20s with no warning of that because medicine wasn’t where it is now. It’s amazing how much more they know and I hope they can use that knowledge to help you.
Thursday vent: they had a bitch of a time finding a vein for DS’s IV. My poor baby. We’ve got about 45 mins more of time while they do his MRI and then we can relax at home for the rest of the day.
