1. How far along are you this week? 19+5! I can’t believe I’m almost halfway (and more than halfway if you consider DS was born at 38+2)
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? Baby #2 is a GIRL!!! Holy shit. I have no idea why DH and I are just SO SHOCKED. And DH is very nervous now. Silly. Everything looked great on our scan.
3. Questions for the group? None now!
4. How was your Mother's Day? Nice! I got a nap! And we went out to a relatively fancy dinner and DS was SUPER good for over 2 hours. Only started to get fussy in the last few minutes.
5: Bonus question since I asked about MD last week too: Will your baby have a lot of cousins? Are they close in age/proximity? No. Neither of our brothers has kids. But we have a lot of OUR cousins that were close with that have kids relatively close in age. Really close in age to DS.
Oops I think I forgot to come in here last week haha.
1. How far along are you this week? 18w.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? Why is it so hard to name a human? haha. By this point in DS1s pregnancy, we had his name and his room was halfway done. I have done zero things for this kid. Sorry second baby.
3. Questions for the group? nope
4. How was your Mother's Day? Really good! My sister was in town and we went to see my grandma, who has Stage 3 pancreatic cancer so likely the last MD with her. MH and I smoked a turkey and mac and cheese and had my mom and sisters over for dinner. It was so yummy and fun to be with my mom and both my sisters.
5: Bonus question since I asked about MD last week too: Will your baby have a lot of cousins? Are they close in age/proximity? Kind of a lot, MH and I are both the youngest of 4. he has 5 on his side and I have 8 on mine but 2/3 of my siblings live out of state and have much older kids. I think all our sibs are done so none will be close in age to this baby. I'm sure I'll have to nag DS1 to let his little bro play with him and his cousins when he is old enough haha
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? I just don’t sleep very well these last few weeks. For some reason I always wake up between 4-4:30am. This means I’m super exhausted in the evening and I pretty much go to bed as soon as DS is asleep. I wish I could stay up a little bit longer so DH and I got some grown up time together.
3. Questions for the group? Nope
4. How was your Mother's Day? Mother’s Day isn’t until May 26 here so we haven’t celebrated it yet. Of course by then we will be in Canada so I fear I will get nothing at all this year. But hopefully DH will remember it anyway.
5: Bonus question since I asked about MD last week too: Will your baby have a lot of cousins? Are they close in age/proximity? DS will be 3 yrs old in August when this baby is born and they will have 6 cousins. My brother has 3 kids, two girls 22 and 27 years old from his first marriage and a 4.5 year old boy from marriage no 2. They live on the other side of the country so DS haven’t met the girls at all and the boy he met once at Christmas when DS was 4 months and the boy was 2 yrs. I do expect we will probably see them a little bit more in the future since my brother and his wife are moving to the same town my mom lives in and my dad will also be moving very close to where I live so whenever they come visit him we can go see them too. DH’s brother have a 6 year old boy and 4 year old twin girls. They live pretty much on the other side of the world so we don’t see them very often but when we do see them (about once every year) it’s usually pretty intense for a few weeks. I definitely don’t think there will be any more cousins, DH’s brother is done for sure and my brother is 52 by now so he is probably done too. And my other brother is unfortunately cfnbc. Oh well 6 cousins is 6 more than I ever had.

KellyEasterbrook my town has a twice weekly diaper pickup that you can sign up for at $20 a month. Means they come by twice a week while you have littles. My daycare does it because it is totally worth it for her, and the every other week schedule sucks. Might be something for you to look into.
Not knowing all your situation I might also recommend cloth diapers (if you have in-house laundry). Our experience was really good and we will do it again. That being said, it doesn’t work for everyone and a lot depends on your childcare arrangements.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? we finally made an announcement on fbook, so we're totally public now. makes it feel more real, but now everyone at work is eying my stomach, lol.
3. Questions for the group? not this week
4. How was your Mother's Day? DH plans a day trip for us, this year we went on saturday since the weather looked better. it was really nice. then yesterday DS was sick most of the day, but DH made some homemade pasta and it was delicious. he also 'gave' me a pair of rothys, basically he said to check out the webiste, pick a pair and he will order it - yay!
5: Bonus question since I asked about MD last week too: Will your baby have a lot of cousins? Are they close in age/proximity? until this year DS has been the only grandkid on both sides. my sister had a baby in feb, and SIL is due next week, so there will be three cousins total born this year! they are an hour and then about 2.5 hours away each. neither of the SILs in our area have kids though, which is great since they can more easily be our babysitters, lol.

1. How far along are you this week? 14w5d
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? We visited Buy Buy Baby on Saturday to test out strollers and carseats, plus look at some gear in person that I saw online. The store is too far away to register at so I just added stuff to my Amazon registry as we looked at things - totally that person :/
3. Questions for the group?
4. How was your Mother's Day? We talked about going to the beach or to Disney for the day but after the sudden loss of my sweet puppy, I just wasn't up for much. Just laid on the couch and slept, mostly.
5: Bonus question since I asked about MD last week too: Will your baby have a lot of cousins? Are they close in age/proximity? My sister has 2 kids (age 3 & 9) and his sister has 3 (all young adults - 18, 22, 25) but they all live 5 states away and we rarely see them. The 25 yo niece is having a baby before we are!
Well, huh. I just got my GBS result from last week, and it's negative. It was positive in my last pregnancy so I was not expecting that. I wonder if it will affect my OBs' willingness to induce before 40w?
I am thinking no, because one of them made the comment (not sounding like he was putting much stock in a negative result) that especially after a previous +, it could be a false negative, or a negative that becomes a + again in the 3-4+ weeks between the 36w test and delivery. I guess we'll see.
31 weeks this week. It’s going to start flying by.
We are keeping our outback we just got in September and I managed to get the infant seat installed in the middle. I am so happy. The two oldest girls cannot sit next to each other without kicking and hitting so now they will have a buffer.
I feel like I should have questions bc I am so unprepared but I don’t Ha
My girls have three cousins- twin girls who are 9 (3 months younger than dd1) but we only see them once a year. The girls get along great when they are together. We also have a 2 year old niece who is local and they see once a month or so.

I also tested negative after being GBS+ last time. My midwife didn’t mention anything about it affecting my induction.
hamster Try evening primrose oil to efface your cervix and red raspberry leaf tea to help tone the uterus. Walk and do squats to help baby engage in your pelvis. Get a webster method chiro adjustment to help get baby in a good position. But don't use castor oil - starting off labor dehydrated from the diarrhea (the intestinal distress causes contractions) is not a great idea.
latte I make sure to get unscented. For padsicles Always Maxi Overnight Pads (purple ones) and always infiniti ultra thin for pads. I would get 1 package of size 5, 1 size 3 and 1 size 1. For the first week or 2 I did wear undies and just used Depends (I like Depend Silhouette Incontinence Underwear for Women, Maximum Absorbency) to catch any leaks. and don’t forget to get fragrance free!
@yankees21 the maternity foldover yoga shorts from Old Navy are super comfy!
KellyEasterbrook we got an UBBI for smell containment and because you can use regular trash bags.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week?
AW: 8 weeks worth of freezer meals are done! Using the foodsaver took all the extra air out which means I fit a lot in a small space and they will last longer. VENT: I am so so so done being pregnant. Looks like I'm gearing up for prodromal labor again which extra sucks with DHs travel schedule because I don't really get breaks
3. Questions for the group?
How are you passing the time until you go into labor ? I have no idea how I will make it a few more weeks.
4. How was your Mother's Day?
Fine - we didn't do much but that was fine. I'm kind of cranky and uncomfortable all the time now.
5: Bonus question since I asked about MD last week too: Will your baby have a lot of cousins? Are they close in age/proximity? They have 2 cousins down the street (1 is about a year older than DS1 and 1 is about a year older than DS2) and thats it until my sister has kids.
@yankees21 I’ve been living in maternity sleep shorts at home from H&M.
Edit : so I just looked them up and they are actually labeled as nursing shorts -it does come in a set with a nursing top but the shorts are so comfortable

namasteak, thank you for saying which pads to get. I’m going to the store tomorrow to grab some since they don’t have the same ones in the Netherlands and I was so confused on which ones to grab.
1. How far along are you this week? 25 weeks
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? I had my baby shower this weekend and it was so good. I got so much baby stuff and can’t wait to organise it all when I go home. I had such an amazing time seeing all my people. This trip has been insanity and I have seen so many friends in such a short time but I am so happy! I look forward to relaxing when I return to Amsterdam though since I’ve been on the go the entire time I’ve been here.
3. Questions for the group?
4. How was your Mother's Day? I didn’t do much but celebrated my mom. My H has something planned for when I return apparently but I’m not sure what!
5: Bonus question since I asked about MD last week too: Will your baby have a lot of cousins? Are they close in age/proximity?
No . I’m so sad about this because I grew up with so many cousins (like 35 on one side and the same on another side) and close to most. His 1 cousin lives in Australia and they will be 2 years apart. We do have our friends who I consider as cousins but they’re all here in Toronto.

KellyEasterbrook, we also got an ubbi diaper pail after reading many reviews and recs from here. It’s a good size, which I like and you can use your own garbage bags.
3. Questions for the group? Does anyone have recommendations for maternity pajama shorts? Everything I find is sets and I’d prefer just some comfortable shorts.
dreamcrisp1 Can you get any EMAB (Earth mama angel baby) products sent to you? If not I’d pick up some of the new mama spray and bottom balm
I got a bunch of this from Amazon to bring back!! I got the spray, sitz bath, tucks pads, witch hazel, nipple butter, and some other stuff. I literally have like 1.5 suitcases of just baby and afterbirth stuff haha.

2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? This 2nd time mom belly is no joke. I was pretty small with dd, but I feel like I am easily 6 wks ahead of where I was with her, belly wise. With dd they commented that I had a really strong core & it was likely holding her in a bit, but with this one it’s like she stretched everything out and my body is like, “Have a seat. I know what to do this time around.” LOL Not a fan of this gut.
Dude for real. I think I was happily in maternity pants by 9 weeks this time because the 2nd kid belly was (to me) out of control. If it makes you feel any better I feel like things evened out around 20-22 weeks, though I'm definitely carrying differently this time.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? Had my regular OB appt yesterday and things are looking good! My OB put in the order for my induction and requested 7/15 for the date based on her call schedule that week, but we won't get confirmation on the date until we're 30 days out from my due date (hospital policy for vaginal birth inductions). I also got my TDAP booster...ow.
3. Questions for the group? Nope.
4. How was your Mother's Day? Uneventful! I got to go for a run with a good friend and make an early AM Target stop all by myself, then AJ and I went to a birthday party. After the party he happily entertained himself for a couple hours and I got to lay down and eventually take a nap, before we headed over to my parents for dinner.
5: Bonus question since I asked about MD last week too: Will your baby have a lot of cousins? Are they close in age/proximity? My sister's son will be around 16m when Girlfriend is born-which won't seem super close initially but will be nice once she's more mobile. AJ and my niece are ~20m apart and those two are besties now She'll have some second (first once removed? not sure.) cousins that are really close in age though-J's cousin and his wife are due with their first 10 days before us, and two of my cousins are due with their second 3-4 months after us. Family gatherings with my dad's side of the family are going to be full of babies for a while!
ETA: my sister and BIL live ~20 minutes away, we see them pretty often. Like it's rare to go more than 2 weeks. J's cousin and his wife live in town also, we're not super tight but see them at least every few months or so. Same goes for my cousins and their families, but they're all in Cincinnati which is roughly 2 hours away. We see them at the holidays, family reunions, weddings, etc but will also try to get together if we're down there for something random and same goes if they're up here for something. It's funny/ironic because these are the cousins we fought like cats and dogs with growing up...and then we all hit adulthood and realized we had more in common than we realized.
3. Questions for the group? Does anyone have recommendations for maternity pajama shorts? Everything I find is sets and I’d prefer just some comfortable shorts.
I really liked these shorts and continued to wear them postpartum. They're also decent enough to wear outside.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week?
Hard to believe that in less than 3 weeks we'll be meeting our son! (C-section scheduled for 6/3 at 39w) Hoping he stays put until then, at least until ILs are back from their trip, since we're planning on them watching DD while I'm in the hospital. Have done some prep (clothes, etc. are washed, bassinest assembled) but still have a lot to do (install carseat bases, make packing lists).
3. Questions for the group?
~
4. How was your Mother's Day?
It was nice. DH let me sleep in a bit, and then I had much of the day to myself between DH taking DD to swim class and her nap. We went over to the ILs and DH made a nice supper.
5: Bonus question since I asked about MD last week too: Will your baby have a lot of cousins? Are they close in age/proximity?
Probably not- on my side my sister has no plans of having a child. My mom's husband's son and his wife are going to have a baby a couple months after me, but considering I've met him exactly once at my mom's wedding several years ago, I don't think they'll have any relationship. On DH's side, his brother and his wife have a son about a year and a half younger than DD and a year and a half older than this baby, and I believe they hope to have at least one more, but they live all the way across the country from us so we only see them once or twice a year.

1. How far along are you this week? 21+3
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for this week? I officially announced on social media yesterday after debating on what to say for so long. Also, had an OB appointment yesterday which made everything feel so much more real. Next appointment I have my glucose test, we talked about all the classes to consider getting signed up for/taking - labor, newborn, BF, CPR. So crazy. It still doesn't fully seem real, but here I am. And, how am I already past halfway?? It's going by so fast. Also, I think we may have settled on a name! My vent is I came down with a cold towards the end of our vacation . I couldn't hardly breathe Sun/Mon and today I think I'm going to cough up my lungs. Not fun!
3. Questions for the group? Birthing classes - are they worth it? And hospital offered, or look into private? I'm hoping to go med-free, although going into it with an open mind since there are so many things that can end up outside of your control and I could change my mind once things get real. Also, breast-feeding classes, is ahead of time worth it, or would you wait until after LO is here?
4. How was your Mother's Day? It was fine, spent the day traveling home, although I can't complain since I laid on a beach for 4 days
5: Bonus question since I asked about MD last week too: Will your baby have a lot of cousins? Are they close in age/proximity? Not really. My brother has 1 boy (11) + 2 step-kids (Boy 12, Girl 11). My step-brother has a handful of kids, but not sure on ages since we aren't close. My step-sister has 3, 1 girl 11, 1 boy ~6 and 1 boy 18 months. But all of them are 500 miles away. On DH's side, there's a few cousins all around his oldest's age (14), but they are all 1000 miles away.
Most of the time, I'm super thankful for the distance between us and family, however, when it comes to stuff like this, I'm sad our baby won't grow up around cousins. But, we have a handful of friends that have LOs, so he'll be just fine I'm very much living the friends are better since we were able to pick them!

I'm 26+5 days. This morning I woke up with stomach pains. Pooped a few times. Now I have residual pain/cramps in my lower abdomen when I move. Normal? Not blinding, but annoying and certainly not comfortable. I'm also a little nauseous, but did eat lunch.
Am I dying?
I thought it was because I ate a lot yesterday and was a little constipated, but that should all be cleared out now.
Ugh. This is really inconvenient timing since I'm solo parenting DS and the dog.
Oh, also...when baby kicks it kind of hurts. It's not nice or sweet at all.
H has the worst HR department ever, and now they've outsourced their FMLA to an even worse outside company.
He's trying to get his leave squared away. Basically one full week off, and two half weeks, amounting to 80 hours and as needed from there. They wrote back and said his leave can start two days after he provides a birth certificate. LOL.
icedcoffee I feel the same way about baby kicks/movement. Its uncomfortable, and honestly feels invasive to me most of the time as weird as that sounds. I’ve said this in public a few times and have gotten weird looks, so I’m glad it’s not just me that doesn’t find it endearing.

My baby is a little devil and he constantly just pushes his foot against my stomach and it hurts so much. So I’m always pushing back so he moves it but lately he just keeps doing it.
My bff was like after hearing your stories, I’m afraid to be pregnant. Haha. I’m just being honest and telling the truth!

I dont know WTF kid was doing today but I practically yelped in pain as I watched his foot/feet roll across my belly.
C was breech, so I had his head in my ribs all the time. Thing came out a little bit dented! He always wanted to sleep with his head touching the crib too, lol.

I'm here too.
Sometimes I describe it to H as feeling like an internal earthquake. It's not an adorable little "kick," it's a total seismic shift in all my abdominal organs. How is that cute!?
