Our first meal delivery service meal was dropped off today. I really hope it's good, because deciding what to eat at night is pushing me to the breaking point.
I got to work super early this morning because I was giving a friend a ride in since she needed to be earlier than her usual carpool and now the day feels so long. It's mid-morning but feels like it should be lunchtime by now.

I am so all over the place and want to just hang at home and do nothing today. I had a great weekend and felt so good being just me, but STBX got me a free new stove/oven that is newer and looks way better than my current one, but now I am a wreck and trying to act like I'm not over a stupid stove that was free to him and he is giving to me. I just want to yell, "A free stove does not make up for jack-shit!" but instead I just said, "Thanks, let me know when you can drop it off."
I'm worried for people in Oklahoma and N Texas and I don't even live anywhere near there. But the forecasts are very scary today. I can't stop reading #okwx on twitter.

I should do this again - it was really nice to just have everything prepped and time only spent cooking. What company did you go with and let us know if the packaging is recyclable and such?

This is me. I don't mind grocery shopping or food prep, but I'm so burned out on figuring out what to make for dinner every night.
I used to get a lot of meal ideas from Pinterest, but Pinterest is pretty useless these days unless you want to see endless ads and the same five pins over and over again.

I really need just one thing to go smoothly right now, one thing. Lately it seems like no matter what it is from stopping to get coffee at Starbucks to work to stupid medical bills nothing is simple, straight forward or hell, even half way positive.

I used meal lime for awhile. They've got a lot of great recipes, even in the free version of the app.
The meal delivery services were great but we can only use them in winter we learned the hard way. Meat was arriving warm in the summer and that's a recipe for getting sick.

It's actually a local caterer who delivers fully cooked meals. All we have to do is reheat. Their website said the packaging is recyclable. I haven't seen it yet, so I'm not sure if it really is recyclable.
ETA: We leave a cooler by our door, and meals are delivered twice a week, Mondays and Thursdays.

Ugh. Same. I just saw where the Air Force base near OKC evacuated all the planes out of state. I have family there, so I’m a nervous wreck today. It doesn’t help that this falls on the anniversary of the major storm that killed several people six years ago.
I won our Game of Thrones pool! Woo hoo!!!!! I have no idea how much $, but I'm mostly enjoying being called the Queen of the North for the week (I work in the north wing of our building).
eta: It's $85, which is pretty freaking sweet right now.

This is why we eat the same 5-7 things over and over. I don’t have the mental bandwidth to be creative when it comes to weeknight dinners.
Finally a positive post - thought my contacts, we discovered that there are some gift stocks of my meds in the country. I went and collected a month's supply on Friday so I was finally able to start my meds on Saturday. They have knocked me out a bit as apparently we only import full doses which means that I wasn't able to start gradually and build up over a month like you are supposed to. But at least I am finally being treated.
And it looks like they have some more at the warehouse that I can get so hopefully I'll be getting 6 months meds for free to get me started!!

PDQ
I've been anxious all day about meeting with a direct report of mine that one of their staff complained about. The complaint is very serious, I 1000% believe the staff member, and they confided in me Friday night at a work event (no incidents happened there). While a proper investigation needs to be conducted, I am so angry and disappointed in this direct report, as I've known them for over 10 years (they only became my direct report a year and a half ago). I didn't have to meet with them as expected but this week is going to suck. The staff member has been moved to another site and I am glad they are now comfortable where they are but I hate that they experienced what they did.
I need a pair of dressy summer shoes for a floor-length navy dress. Comfort is key. I don't want pumps. I'm looking at silver shoes but I'm open to other colors. Any recommendations for brands that are especially comfortable?
I tried these on at DSW and thought they were pretty comfortable, so I'm keeping them in mind in case I can't find anything else ... but I'm thinking a wedge or a flat/slightly heeled sandal might be better since it'll be a long day.
I would also love to stay under $50 since I won't have much use for these shoes later. I'm going to try TJ Maxx tomorrow, but I want to buy something this week because I need to get the dress altered so I need the day-of shoes for the hemline.

One of my bffs is in town this weekend, and we solidified our brewery/beer drinking plans. WOOT!
What breweries?! I'm not sure where you live but love all things brewery and just got Hong from a 10 day beercation where we hit 31 breweries.
We're starting at Odell Brewing for their small batch festival, and then we usually hit another 2ish after that. (I live in Ft. Collins, CO so plenty of breweries to choose from).

My whole family is in OKC. They aren’t worried yet, but tornadoes are touching down in other areas.
I find that if I am going to be on my feet for a long time, in the end what makes it comfortable is if the shoe has some kind of support (or even the Dr Scholl's high heel inserts that have a little support), because without it, my feet and legs (and back) wil be tired and sore at the end of the day. I feel like I have worn a lot of shoes to events that I thought were comfortable enough but regretted later because they weren't supportive enough to be comfortable the entire time. I just didn't realize that that was what the problem was at the time.
I love to wear heels, but if I didn't, and I had a long dress and a very long day ahead of me, I might spend a little more on nice, (but comfy) flats that I would definitely wear again. A spare pair of something really comfy in the car wouldn't bec a bad idea. Late in the day no one will notice or care.
Silver shoes would be lovely with that dress, but rose gold would be great too. It is always nice to have a pair of metallic finish shoes around. Metallics are super popular, are neutrals and can be worn with anything. Maybe nude color shoes?
