I believe it. DS goes to an "affordable" daycare center and we still pay $480 a week (toddler rate). Once Darby starts in September Cal will thankfully be moving up to the preschool room (significantly cheaper), but we will still be paying $765 a week for the both of them. That includes a 10% sibling discount. Its insane.

If I sent them to Bright Horizons or Kindercare I'd be paying >$1000 a week.

There’s a Bright Horizons center in the lobby of my building and I get so jealous of the parents who get to see their kids at lunch. But then I wonder how much they’re actually making to be able to swing that kind of payment. One month at that center is over twice my monthly mortgage payment

Yes MA is crazy. We pay significantly more then Northern VA/DC.

In metrowest I pay $760 a week for 2 kids (not infants) and yes my daycare bill is significantly more then my mortgage but when we bought this house we factored in having kids and then 5 years of daycare!

And I just got an email that our tuition is going up 10% a week next month. Blah. We’ve had yearly 8-10% increases since DS started.

This is a big reason we went with Tony. A nanny was just more affordable. We did send C to preschool at kindercare. L got into public preschool.
