Sometimes I see people wearing them and think they are adorable. Sometimes I see people wearing them and think "why did she pick something that is that unflattering/ridiculous looking?" So, I think it depends on the romper. Styles vary a lot.
I would never in a million years wear one myself, but that's mostly because my body shape is not right for one.
Totally agree with this. Serena Williams has one in her new line that looks awesome on her, but I think I'm too short to pull something like that off. I don't know. They're NMS, but they look good on some people.
eta: The peeing thing doesn't bother me, so if you like it, go for it!

I have two jumpsuits. One Ann Taylor, one Boden. I waited until they were on the absolute lowest sale, meaning that I watched for a long time before I pulled the trigger.
The AT one is a petite size, black velvet and fit nicely enough not to need any alterations. I took it with me for a work conference in February and on one of my nights out with co-workers to various bars, I strolled around Barcelona in it with a red wrap, feeling fabulous. I suppose that at some point I had to partially strip-down to use the bathroom, but frankly it's a little fuzzy and certainly didn't bother me at the time, lol.
The Boden one, I have had my eye on for more than a year. The AT one worked out so well that I bought one that was more of an all-season fabric. It fits abysmally, despite me following the size chart -- way, way too long, baggy in the middle, gappy around the boobs. It needs major tailoring and I just haven't gotten around to it yet. I think it's salvageable with alterations, and I bought it on on no-return clearance anyway, so I am stuck with it.
All that is to say, if there's any way you can shop in-store for a jumpsuit, I would do it -- or be prepared to deal with online returns.
I have one jumpsuit. It is cute. But everytime I wear it I think damn, this is really inconvenient. And when i have to pee it's like gathering the whole thing so it doesn't end up on the floor.
I think about that every time I see a cute one and then I talk myself out of buying it.
(also I refuse to own something called a "romper")
I wear a jumpsuit to work daily, and it’s not flattering. Undressing to pee is a 10x daily occurrence for me, and it’s really no big deal, so I’m kind of surprised to hear that it’s an issue for so many people.
Every romper I’ve seen is too short, so those are a definite no for me.
I have a few that I love but I drink a lot of water and unbuttoning and re-buttoning every 30 minutes when I have to go tinkle makes it super annoying.
I wore a bunch in my 20s and I love how they look on me. But I just can’t because of the bathroom situation. Getting half naked and fighting to keep it off the floor every time I need to pee just makes it not worth it for me.
When they first came out, I thought they were ridiculous. But lately I have seen some really cute ones, so I'm starting to shift my opinion on them. Lately every time I grab a cute dress off the rack it turns out to be a romper.

It's something I can imagine myself wearing when I was younger, but with a medical condition that makes me pee a lot, it's hard to imagine choosing to wear one now.

It is something that looks good on other people, but not me. I have a thick waistline, so it never looks good on me. I have one for the beach, but that’s it. Then there is the bathroom issue...

I wore one for my wedding rehearsal...so 13 years ago? Anyway, not really fan of stripping down in order to pee so I’ve avoided them. I’ve seen some really cute ones but can’t get over the above so... other people do what they do.
I have been on the hunt for one that looks half way decent but have not been successful. DD loves them and looks cute in everyone she has. I have big boobs and hips and the top part always hits my waist bad. They just don't work well for my body type.
I made the mistake of buying one with a million little buttons on the front. Don't do that. I have others that are stretchy and I can pull them on down. I don't care about getting naked in the bathroom but it's annoying having to hold the material up so it doesn't hit the floor of the bathroom.
I have had some in the past that were flattering, but I hated stripping to go to the bathroom. I remember it being cold and just thinking that it was stupid. I don't remember feeling great in them either. Confortable yes, but not necessarily confident, and I like to feel confident.
Now I have a harder time finding any that fit correctly, much less any that are flattering on me. I see so many cute ones, but often the waist doesn't hit right on me or it fits my lower half then the top doesn't close or is too short to accommodate my bust so the waist is really in the wrong place and looks bad.
It just isn't worth the effort to me to find or wear one.

I am just over 40 and I bought one this past spring. It looks great (high neck with low back, short sleeves, navy and wide-leg ankle height). I get so many compliments. So I say yay.
I am thinking a nice one for date nights is in the cards for this fall/winter too. I don't mind the bathroom issue - it wasn't hard for me to keep it off the floor and easily out of the way.
I see a lot of plus sized women wearing cute rompers. They aren’t just for rail thin super tall women!
I think a lot of it also depends on where you have your weight. For me, it's in the bum and middle and they just make me look even bigger than I am. They might work if I had a defined waist, even with the bigger bum, or my weight was held elsewhere.

I really need to try some on with a critical shopping buddy. I carry my weight in my belly and hips, but do still have a fairly well defined waist from a front view. It's the side view where I look knocked up. Some things work. Some things DO NOT.
Agree with all! I have a couple, wear the one that it’s hardest to pee the least (zips to the top, ack, I try to keep someone around who can start my unzip). Just wanted to also chime in that I get complimented a ton! And tons of “Man, I wish I could pull that off!” Psh- if I can do it, you Totally Can!!
I want to like jumpsuits, but I have a long torso and every one I’ve tried rides way too high up my business.
Any recommendations?
I usually size up and go for stretchy material. I like shorts rompers and they usually end up being pretty short on me, so more “date night” than daytime.
